RN since 1997, mostly ER, however, I transferred to critical care float pool 2 1/2 years ago. I love learning. I have my first balloon pump tonight (silly but proud...an ER nurse can learn new tricks). I never know where I am working until I get to work and check in. So, I try to plan ahead and bring my lunch (and snacks)
Feel free to add me, nice to know others out there with similar stories :)

    Hello all.

another nurse here. Worked in intensive care for 6 years until I had my daugher 2 yrs ago. Worked crzy 12hr shifts and night shifts were always a killer as I couldnt sleep after and used to get very ill. But like tdgee I loved it! The more inotropes and balloon bumps someone had the better I enjoyed it!

I am a respiratory nursee specialist now- run my own independant chronic lung clinics, and a lot of teaching/education of staff and patients and managing difficult asthma/copd on the wards. So am kept very busy as am forever walking/ climbing stairs etc etc. The hours are good as well 8-4. The biggest food vice is sharing offices with secrataries who bring in too many goodies! Lol.6owever ive managed to get them all to eat clean as they all want to lose weight and have seen that I have . So that helps to keep the goodies at bay!

Feel free to add me, would love to have other nurses to chat to :)

i basically eat what i would normally eat for my meals on overnights....but that 2-5 am time period is the hardest! It's usually pretty calm and I get sleepy....want to eat to stay awake! I try to drink some water and eat a healthy snack! :)
