This would be awesome if it passed.

If you ban this it will just become a diff type of fat they use.

This ought to be on the person making that decision. As for kids I can see banning this in schools and other child sectors as a good idea.

I am not so worried about the fats... I want laws passed so I know if I am being served Genetically Modified food or a hamburger from a cloned cow! THat should be on the label with the ingredients

but with clone cows, you know the hamburgers will taste the same all the time

I'm tired of the government trying to micro manage everyone's lives. How about letting adults make their own choices for a change?
    this!

Interesting. Maybe instead of banning it, they should just be forced to announce which foods have it. I LOVe having all the calories listed next to the foods now in restaurants in California. Wish at least the main nutrients, carbs, fat, protein, would be listed as well!

Yes, it would be awesome if all restaurants had nutritional content available at their place of business. Some do, but most don't. I ate recently at a Perkins Restaurant and inquired about nutritional values - and they directed me to their website, which was really helpful, but having the info at the restaurant would've been better. I'd like to add sodium to the list you values you mentioned!!

However, I know for a fact that to have commercially prepared foods tested for nutritional content is an expensive process. I recently asked the owner of a local sandwich chain, why their pkg'd sandwiches don't list the nutritional values along with the list of ingredients. Because of the high cost was his reply. They'd like to offer better labeling, but it's too expensive....sigh....

Not everybody cares about about what goes in their bodies.

Just because we don't want the government to tell us what we can or cannot consume does not mean we don't care about our bodies. It means we prefer to make our own choices instead of having the government make them for us. You cannot legislate personal responsibility.
