Hi April- sent in my vote as well as some challenge ideas :-) - take it easy on that knee! :-)0
-
I will vote independence by weightloss
Not that we have independence day, I am a bit jealous of all these holidays
And 100 hours of exercise in general, I never manage much walking, getting an 18month old and a nine year old in walking mode is somewhat hard work. Will try if you do walking at least the UK is brightening up a bit now0 -
Hello everyone! I am still reading & rooting everyone on! Everyone is doing terrific! I am so sorry for not being more supportive!
I have been doing well with eating and exercising, but struggling some with life. :ohwell: It hasn't left me with the mental energy to post. I am hoping to have more brain power for the next challenge. Right now I will be in the middle of a conversation with my hubby, a kidlet will give a 60 second interruption and when we go back to talking I will have NO CLUE what in the world we were talking about. :noway: The brain's on overload right now!
I am down 14.4 lb so far for the challenge, I plan on my final weigh-in on Easter morning. Tonight I am asking my dh to get down a tote that has a beautiful suit outfit in it (that I bought at the thrift store $1 a sack sale with the tags still on:bigsmile: ). At the time my goal was being able to fit into that for Easter some day. I am HOPING that I fit in it this year. If I do, I will try to post a pic!
Thank you SOOOOOOOO much for your wonderful dedication and challenges April! My vote for the next challenge would be - H20 Exploding those pounds...0 -
My vote for next Challenge:
H20 Exploding those pounds...
So... I HAD to weigh myself today just to see if I managed to get rid of the water I was retaining due to overdoing the sodium intake at my daughter's bridal shower. I drank enough water to drown a fish the past 2 days!! It worked!! 180.6# YAY!! That's the lowest weight for me in almost 10 years! Still plugging away at it...
I wish I could figure out how to get rid of the back and ab fat!! LOL The Slave Driver just says... work harder at the cardio!! But one can only spend so much time working out, ya know?! I know it'll come off... just wish it came off there first instead of last!!
In any case... feeling good.
So my 3 happys for today:
- down to 180.6# ... eye on the 170s!
- my son is staying with grandma for 2 days (peace for the mom!)
- I love my job! Glad to have one and am SO grateful God guided me to Nursing... I am truly blessed!0 -
Cazz-Congrats on the loss! That's fantastic!
April - I vote Independence by Weight Loss. It speaks volumes about how I feel about this weight!
nikster - I know that movie! LOVE LOVE LOVE it. SO happy you're back in it! WOOT!
I'm finally well enough to get back into the gym, I'm hoping to get there today and if not for sure tomorrow. It'll feel good to get back on that elliptical. My goal for myself is to train really well for the next 2 weeks and then try to complete 5k on the treadmill right before my birthday (05-10). Here's hoping! I'd like to run most of it, but if I can't I'd still like to complete it in less than an hour. *Fingers crossed* I have the real thing in August so it's time to start getting serious.
I'm having some drama with my trainer at the gym that maybe you all could help me figure out. She's acting really weird right now. The short version is that I got a message from her that she has a work comp back injury that will put her out of commission for a few weeks and if she doesn't follow the instructions of the PTs she's seeing then the gym won't be liable for any damages or bills. That's fine, whatever, but when I tell her that I'm going to ask to see a different trainer at the gym while she's out she freaked out on me. I can't tell them that she told me this, I can't ask for another trainer, etc, etc. Then she gets all panicky and tells me she'll be there for my regular Friday session, no matter what. Um, you're supposed to be OFF WORK for a back injury, what would have happened if I hadn't said anything to her, showed up on Friday, she wasn't there, and I talked to the owner about it then? I'm so confused. I know that she's new to the gym, she's 22, fresh out of school, and that all makes me think that something kinda fishy is going on and she's trying to cover her *kitten* because she's young and dumb like everyone at 22 is. But now I'm confused and I don't know what to do. Do I talk to the people at the gym? Do I talk to her on Friday and see what the heck is going on before I do anything? If she's going to be missing work, I've already paid for 12 sessions and I don't want to lose them because she's too afraid to tell her boss the truth, which is absolutely ridiculous. What would you all do?0 -
My vote is H2O Exploding those pounds.
Mandy - :drinker: Here's to more brain cells. When you find some, you can send some to me. You are doing SUPER!!! WOW - 14.4 lbs that's great! Can't wait to see the Easter dress picture.
(That reminds me, we need to be taking our after pictures for this challenge - right??)
Cazz - CONGRATULATIONS on being in the 180's!!!!!!!  I'm so happy for you and WAY TO GO on the water intake!!! When you find out about the back and ab fat, you can let us know, too.
Ashley - Good luck on your training. As far as the gym goes, you are paying for it, I think you need to get out what you are paying for. I would probably talk to her and then go from there, but definitely get what you're paying for. Just my opinion though.
My three happy's for today:
*Our new puppy is here - haven't seen it yet.
*Hubs has off Friday!!!!!!!!
*God has blessed my life more than I can ever say!!!
Have a great Wednesday, Ladies!! Don't give up!!!!
:flowerforyou:0 -
Happy Hump Day, y'all! Everyone is doing so well and seems so positive lately--I just love it
I can't wait to see everyone's final numbers, and hopefully PICTURES! Thx Crystal for reminding us
My vote is also for H2O Exploding those Pounds! Def w/an exploding fireworks graphic... and maybe we could do a new Plyo challenge each week (among other of course), as they are supposed to help you "explode" with intensity? Yes, no, super chessy???
My 3 Happies for the day...
*Only 65 days until the big move back to WA and lots of family!
*Daughter had dance class today, and I managed to catch it on the daycare cam--15 little girls in tutus trying to dance is enough cuteness for a few weeks!!!
*MFP--I was miserable and unsuccessful at weight-loss until I found this website and the information and support it offers!0 -
hi all just a quicky cause it's nearly 8:45pm and still need to have dinner- congrats to everyone on their losses and increased exercising!
Ashley tell crazy trainer girl that you don't want her working while injured it is not a good example to be setting fo ryou the client plus she probably won't can't give her all-ask gym if they have a temporary replacement
um um
loh I ma forgetting so much..
ok time to eat before I cmpletely forget who I am - !0 -
I'm joining in!
Alright cool.. Do you need to know my stats or anything? I've never done a challenge before. I think I'm still gonna try and complete this weeks though too.
Three things I'm thankful/happy about
-I am home on Easter break until Monday night
-I have 2 weeks left of classes
-My mother has lost a ton of weight and she is a huge inspiration to me!0 -

April - more great pics! It seems that you love what you do, and it shows in your photos
I hope your knee loosens up a bit and you can get your miles in - or at least feel better!
JeninBelgium - Awesome work on the 150 miles!!
CrystalS - I feel that mowing 10 acres would be a serious calorie torcher (unless you have a riding lawn mower - which would be WAY more fun). Good luck with your P90x! And what kind of puppy???
bjshooter - 4 pounds is better than gaining, and it's not too shabby in 10 weeks...enjoy the success you've had and go with them...
Nikstergirl - enjoy that cake!...mmmmm, cake...
ashley0616 - maybe talk to her on Friday and see what's happening? I would probably go that route, and if she's not there, you can speak to someone and ask what's going on. You've paid for the session, and you're entitled to get what you paid for, either from her or someone else.
I vote for H20 Sizzling Hot Bodies of Summer...., but followed closely by H20 Independence by weight loss.
Yesterday I bought a heart rate monitor (Polar FT7) and I haven't used it yet, but I'm excited to take it to the gym tomorrow. I've heard horror stories where people thought they were burning 600 calories in an hour of exercise and it turned out to be only 250 or something...crossing my fingers that I haven't been way overestimating too!0 -

Hi everyone! My name's Kayla, and I am 18 years old. I guess you could say today's my first REAL day of the H20 challenge.
My starting weight is 223.0 -
Please get many any challenge ideas for the newest challenges. Any ideas will help. I was thinking about basing the next challenge around Abs, Cardio, and strength.. Thinking about tying that all together every week. What are your thoughts?0
-
Great job everyone! I won't have a loss posted for this group but I damn sure will be on for the next.
My vote would be for Exploding Those Pounds but any name will be great!
Hope everyone has a beautiful Easter...I will be spending that time with my hubby's family while missing my own.
Hugs and love to all!
Linda0 -
Sorry I haven't gotten in here yet! I'll come back tonight to catch up with everyone.0
-
I'm totally loving the "Exploding those Pounds" challenge name!!! I also like the idea of continuing with another 100 miles OR 100 hours... either way, I'm in! Combining the abs/cardio/strength thing is great and whatever we come up with I'll give a try. I'm getting closer and closer to my goal and I am glad for that, but I did change my calorie goal a little to see if my energy comes back. Only upped it a bit, but so far it's affecting my attitude in a very positive way!
No exercise for me today.. just an exhausting day at work and then hubby was home unexpectedly so we had supper with the whole fam and now I'm FREEZING and trying to get warm!!! Planning on another 7 miles tomorrow morning so hopefully I'll get warm then!! LOL!
Can't believe it's almost Easter... crazy stuff! I'll weigh in tomorrow and post it this weekend for my final check in... hopefully for a loss! Let's end it on a high note!0 -
Oups forgot to weigh in!!! So sorry for not being here as often... will be back full force for next challenge...
Chantal0 -
ceelovejay - Congrats on losing over a dozen pounds during the challengs! That is absolutely fantastic.
fitterpam - How great you must have felt bringing home clothing a size smaller than what you were wearing! That's such a fun NSV.
AprilVal - Indoor photos are very difficult, but it looks like you got great lighting for all of your shots! Did you get light stands or are you just that good that you got the available lighting to work for you? I said $250 previously beause I sensed that you don't like to charge a lot. Hubby and I agreed that good wedding photography is very important so we spent a big chunk of our wedding budget (like, four digit number) on the photographer we wanted. She was worth every single penny as we still get compliments coming on three years later. So moral of the story is you're going to do a lot of work and will be giving these people great photos, so you're more than allowed to charge more money. I hope your knee feels perfectly better soon. I like your idea that each week we'll have one ab, one cardio, and one strength challenge. That way we kind of have an idea of what's coming up, but we'll keep our bodies guessing with the new moves. And of course we gotta have our 3 happies!!
CrystalS - dum dum dum...another pound bites the dust!...da dum dum. Ten acres is A LOT of land! I can't imagine maintaining that kind of space.
ashley0616 - I too echo your scale frustration. Ever since I've gotten out of the 170s, I just couldn't get past 167. I'm hoping with today's weigh-in that I can get myself going on that downward trend again, but when you're eating within your plan, working out, and doing everything "right", it is SO damn frustrating and disheartening. Keep your chin up, darlin'! It'll all work out for you! And that's a sticky situation with your trainer. Since insurance and safety is such a big thing to gyms, I'm thinking you either need to talk to your trainer and mention that, or you just need to go right to her superiors. If she can't function completely then she can't fully do her job right? You'd be getting cheated out of what you paid for.
emilysebastian - Awwww, I love hearing your mushy gushy happies toward your hubby. So sweet. I'm so excited for you to finally hop on the scale after all this time! I've got my fingers and toes crossed for you!!
bjshooter - YEAH they have!! I can't believe 2011 is already 1/3 over! EGADZ! I wonder what's up with your body that you've been stuck in a plateau yo-yo.Don't you dare give up!
violet_820 - Congrats on being down this week! I often miss college but I REALLY don't miss midterms/finals. Can I just go to class and take notes and hang out on campus? Think that would be OK?
JeninBelguim - I wish I remembered what I weighed in 7th and 8th grade. All I do remember is that in 9th grade we had to write notes to our future selves (the notes were saved and delivered to us in 12th grade) and I one of the things I wished for myself was that I weighed 140 pounds. I have no idea what I actually weighed, but it is sad to me that I was wishing I was thinner even in high school. Body image...oy! Anyhoos, I'm so PROUD and in awe of you that you've blown the 100 mile challenge to smithereens! Look at you...you've done 150%!! You're like Randy Quaid's character in "Kingpin" who, because of his Amish heritage, does everything "half again" as much as everyone else.
Nikstergirl - *thumbs up* on the epic drunkfest! With nine martinis I'm hoping you got to the bathroom photoshoot and "I love you" stage with your girlfriends!Oh, and birthday cake doesn't count. It's a rule.
Oh, and "remove head from sphincter, then drive!" is my favorite line. :P Isn't it amazing how a tiny number change makes a WORLD of difference?! This is such a psychological journey we're on, too!
kayladiane5 - Welcome to our little corner of MFP! Enjoy that spring break of yours!! Looking forward to see you reach your weigh loss and health goals.
Alegria79 - Color me jealous that you got a Polar FT7! What color? I'm looking forward to your review of it. Here's hoping it doesn't surprise you in a bad way!
linemansgirl - You've done such a great job with this challenge! I'm very much looking forward to seeing a picture of you beaming in your fancy suit.
cazz - *high five* on being your lowest weight in a decade! That's such a rockin' accomplishment. An exercise move that I think helped me get rid of my back creases and tighten the tummy...planks. There was a challenge I joined in on where we had to do something like 90 minutes of planks in one month. It SUCKED, but was great in the end. So, maybe try to squeeze in a few minutes of planks before going to bed every night?
emilysebastian - Where in WA are you moving to? Hearing about your little girl in a tutu makes me think of Angelina Ballerina. Does that little mouse still exist?
nursee67 - Have you taken your measurements? Maybe jot them down and compare them to the last time you meausred that is closest to when we started the challenge. You may find some unknown success there!
Chantalc1969 - Don't worry about it.We'll see you soon!
OH HOLY MOLY that was a lot of catching up! I tried hitting the track tonight but the grunions (youth running team that takes up 7 of 8 lanes) were there, so I only got a mile in. Had fun playing with coupons the other day and got a great haul of Garnier facial products, as well as some Physicians Formula bronzer and blush. I've got my Target envelope all ready to go, with Target and mfg. coupons stacked...*fingers crossed* for fun deals!
My happies:
-I'm enjoying this coupon thing.
-I love my puppies. They're the bestest lovies.
-My weigh-in had me at 166.8, which is my lowest yet!
I should add a fourth happy, but it is kind of b*tchy...When I got married I wore a 16W dress, my sister/MOH wore a size 10 dress (with two layers of Spanx underneath). She gave me the dress and I was using it as a goal dress. It fits perfectly (and I've moved on to a size 9 dress) and, well, I'm going to flaunt that thing (Spanx-less!) to Easter brunch.0 -

I too think that April is trying to not charge too much - I have a feeling she is the type that always gives of herself perhaps to her own detriment? April certainly charge only what you feel comfortable with, but be fair both to yourself as well as the marrying couple
-ooh I have seen Kingpin but years ago and don't remember it much - I will have to watch again- 150 miles is not there yet but I am hoping my long walk on saturday will end this challenge in style :-)
Nikster- please show us if you did get the bathroom photos :-)
Pink- it sounds like you had fun - I LOVE LOVE LOVE TARGET- so wish they had one here (with American products) or would at least ship internationally
and you rock that dress spanxless!0 -
Nikstergirl - *thumbs up* on the epic drunkfest! With nine martinis I'm hoping you got to the bathroom photoshoot and "I love you" stage with your girlfriends!

Thanks! Will look up PLANKS. But it already sounds like something I won't like!I should add a fourth happy, but it is kind of b*tchy...When I got married I wore a 16W dress, my sister/MOH wore a size 10 dress (with two layers of Spanx underneath). AWESOME!!!!!!!!!0 -
You guys are too funny!!!! Yes, it was an epic drunkfest... but no, I didn't get a bathroom photoshoot!!!! I think I went by myself every time! I did, however, get very "lovey" on EVERYONE!!!! My two girlfriends, my sister and our college friend (male) who was there... I think I was pushing him over which is hilarious because he's a big guy!!!!! I was just happy and giggly and we all had a blast! And yes, the cake was yummy... and I shared with the kids so I didn't over indulge!
This morning it's FINALLY beautiful here! Still a little chilly, but my morning run was fantastic! Sun shining and light breezes... very perfect running weather! Did the enitre 7 miles which I wasn't sure I could do after the weekend I had.. but it was really pretty good! As I said before.. I'm back in the game!!!! Wahoo!!!!
My happy's for today are... 1) the weather finally feels like spring! 2) I bought a couple more tops today in size M! And they were on SALE! and 3) I didn't feel like I was going to die during my 7 miles this morning!0 -
I should add a fourth happy, but it is kind of b*tchy...When I got married I wore a 16W dress, my sister/MOH wore a size 10 dress (with two layers of Spanx underneath). She gave me the dress and I was using it as a goal dress. It fits perfectly (and I've moved on to a size 9 dress) and, well, I'm going to flaunt that thing (Spanx-less!) to Easter brunch.
That is awesome! You better flaunt it in that dress! ('what, this old thing??...<bat eyelashes>'). But what is a size nine dress? Are you in between the 10s and 8s?
My NSV today was...drum roll please...I bought new Lucky jeans because my 31s (sz 12) were TOO BIG!! And these are my formerly "skinny pants". And the 30s (sz 10) fit perfectly. I haven't been a size 30 in "good" pants (read: not 60% stretch or yoga pants) in YEARS. Since I'm pear shaped, getting a smaller butt/thighs is a very big freaking deal. I was very happy in the store, and my husband seriously said to me "honey, they're just jeans". No, I haven't left him
I figured it takes a girl to understand but I HAD A SKINNY DAY TODAY!! Yes, I'm shouting. And dancing. I even bought denim shorts (also a 30!) - but the bermuda kind, not the shorty kind. I'm not a size 25 after all.
And in the scale victory range, it looks like I'll be 152.2, down about 5 lbs from the beginning. That's my smallest weight in about 7 years. Can't wait for the next 10 weeks!!!
Sorry for my shouting and dancing, but I HAD A SKINNY DAY!0 -
JeninBelguim - I'm sure you'll squeak another 9 miles in before you know it.
I'm kind of surprised you guys don't have a Target with American stock in it. I'd think it would be kind of a novelty, like how we have IKEA here.
cazz - Well, don't YOU end up in the bathroom taking copious amount of pictures and end up confessing your undying adulation to everyone around you when you're 3 sheets to the wind? Planks are really just a push-up, but you don't move. You get on the floor in push-up position, but drop down so you're resting on your elbows, making sure your elbows are below your shoulder. Keep your body in a nice straight line, tighten that tummy, and then...hold it. HOLD that position for as long as you can! It is effing killer.
Nikstergirl - LOL well at least you got gushy with your friends. Because I'm curious, what kind of martini? Looks like it was red according to your profile picture, sooooo...a cosmo? Glad you had a great run and also had a good time shopping!
Alegria79 - Oh HELL YEAH I'm going to be one coy little thing on Sunday! Now I just have to figure out what shoes to wear. Might need to take a pic of my front runners and get your opinions! Size 9 as in a dress from the junior's section...not as much boob and hip room as there would be if it were cut for misses, but I liked the dress and it was only $20, so I had to take the gamble. I'M SO HAPPY you had a great skinny day! Guys really don't understand. I've never tried on Lucky jeans and I'm totally scared to give those waist size numbers a shot. They scare the eff out of me! I only have one pair like that and they've got stretch in them (Jessica Simpson). You really should have ditched hubby at the mall for that comment, but at least I hope you made him carry your bags.
Another good day here. My shift at the store was extended an hour, which is cool with me. The same thing is happening tomorrow, so yay for more $! I had a little frustration moment as I'm sure many of you have with people in your lives...a friend was complaining about how she's chubby but knows that she wouldn't be that way if she didn't eat entire boxes of Oreos in one fell swoop. I then mentioned that maybe she could challenge herself to not eating junk food for a week, and she just scoffed "oh *kitten* that, I've done diets before and they don't work for me". I decided to just stop talking. She doesn't realize that I've lost 30 pounds and that I've done it by changing my lifestyle and don't feel like I'm missing a damn thing. *roll eyes* When will people realize that you'll never find health/weight loss success until you take the word "diet" out of your vocabulary?!
Happies for Thursday:
-Had fun drawing up a storm at work for appreciative customers.
-While I was tempted to hop on the scale, I restrained. I CAN keep this Lenten promise!
-I cleaned out and re-organized my cupboards and the top-o-the-fridge stash. Feels so nice to have thrown junk away and
to have everything else nicely lined up.0 -
Like Crystal S said, don't forget about the challenge AprilVal gave to us in Week 1...CHALLENGE 5 - WEEK 1
(02/13) - TAKE A PICTURE OF YOURSELF, YOU DONT HAVE TO POST IT, BUT KEEP IT FOR THE END OF THE CHALLENGE. LETS SEE HOW WELL WE DO BY THE END. IM SURE WE WILL SEE RESULTS. FULL BODY, OR UPPER BODY WHICHEVER YOU CHOOSE. ITS SOMETHING THAT MAY HELP MOTIVATE YOU.0 -
Such wonderful happies for everyone. You lovely ladies putting on those smaller sexy clothes...all I can say is YOU GO GIRL! I hvae had a busy week at work...had a meeting with the Chief Nursing Officer about the new hospital and how it is geared to make a nurses job easier. She can make a poopoo pile sound like a good thing...she is soooo positive!
The employee newspaper came out and I was featured as an unrivaled nurse! A story I had written about an experience with a patient was featured as we approach Nurses Week! What an honor it was!
As I end the week...I have some things I am dealing with...my son...but I am remaining optomistic about getting him in the right direction. 18...making some bad choices but I think we are turning the corner. happy that my daughter has a boyfriend that cares for her. Going to spend the entire weekend with my hubby...I miss him when we work. having a low key Easter. Looks to be 60 and sunny. Monday...I plan on getting back to plan. I have waited and pondered and restarted enough.
Thank you all for your inspiration...I wanna be like you when I get smaller!
Have a beautiful weekend!
Linda0 -
When is the last weigh in? Is it today, Sunday or Monday?0
-
Pam, it's Monday.0
-
It sounds like everyone is having some FABULOUS NSVs!!!!!!!! WOOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!! Here come the smaller sizes and gorgeous dresses ladies!!!!!
Right now I am indecisive about the suit. It fits okay, but it is a little more snug than I would prefer and I'm not as in love with it as I was a few years ago when I bought it! We'll see!
My little sis is coming today to spend the week with me, and her friend (actually my new SIL's, my bros wife's, little sis  ) will be coming on Monday to be here until next Friday. So I won't be around quite as much for the next week! I also won't be able to get my P90X workouts in.My sister and Tony just wouldn't mix! My goal for the week are long walks with my sister and doing planks in the morning and evening in my bedroom. Thank you so much for the plank idea Pink!!!!! Have a fantastic weekend and week everyone!
I will definitely check in with my end weight and try to check in to the new thread!

Good - that's my regular weigh in day - just wanted to make sure I didn't have to cut it short. Thanks Ceejay!0
