Like Crystal S said, don't forget about the challenge AprilVal gave to us in Week 1...
    CHALLENGE 5 - WEEK 1
(02/13) - TAKE A PICTURE OF YOURSELF, YOU DONT HAVE TO POST IT, BUT KEEP IT FOR THE END OF THE CHALLENGE. LETS SEE HOW WELL WE DO BY THE END. IM SURE WE WILL SEE RESULTS. FULL BODY, OR UPPER BODY WHICHEVER YOU CHOOSE. ITS SOMETHING THAT MAY HELP MOTIVATE YOU.

I am SO glad I did this! I hate the Week 1 picture. I kept it on my phone, though. After over 12# lost in this challenge, I can see a difference.

I was talking to my son's g/f on the way to my daughter's bridal shower on Saturday... It has taken me about 8 months to lose 56#. BUT... when I get out of the shower and see my naked body in the mirror... I STILL see "the fat girl". (I know you guys will understand this.) It's like a carnival mirror. I see myself as the short, fat troll! I see myself as the 335# person I was 12 years ago. No matter how much weight I lose and how good I look in my clothes, my brain sees something others don't. It's SO hard to explain to people that don't have a weight problem.

    Oh well...

    My happy's for today:
    1) I am NOT that short, fat troll!!
    2) My ex-husband is having CABG surgery today. (It won't fix his CHF, but it will give him time to wait for heart transplant.)
    3) I have 4 awesome kids! Although my 11 yr old is still a work-in-progress, they have grown into amazing, responsible people... I am SO proud of them!!

For those that aren't medical professionals... a CABG is by-pass surgery!

cazz - Well, don't YOU end up in the bathroom taking copious amount of pictures and end up confessing your undying adulation to everyone around you when you're 3 sheets to the wind? Planks are really just a push-up, but you don't move. You get on the floor in push-up position, but drop down so you're resting on your elbows, making sure your elbows are below your shoulder. Keep your body in a nice straight line, tighten that tummy, and then...hold it. HOLD that position for as long as you can! It is effing killer.

LOL I am THE cheapest date around!! After 2 drinks, I'm anybody's! man, woman, animal... (It's just a saying!) So, yes, I confess undying adulation to EVERYONE! (and very inappropriately!) Which is why I drink at home if I'm gonna do it!

    Final weigh in time.

    SW: 235
    GW: 225
    EW: 229.6

Didn't exactly make my goal, but it's OK. I lost some inches and will have made my goal for walking as of Sunday for sure. I am SO ready for the next round! Can't wait to see how things progress without my Mirena.

Pinky... yes, that was a cosmo, as were the next four. I don't drink regular martinis, but I like girly fruity stuff. I did have one nice local brew and a champagne cocktail as well as a martini called a "Billie Holiday" at the jazz bar which was blue and pineapple-y!!! Yum!

I haven't been good about working out on Friday nights, mostly just because I've been lazy, but also because hubs has been home and I like to spend the time with him when he's here. Tonight he's still on the road, so it's just me and the kids. One of the kids wanted to go roller skating with his friends, so we dropped him off, took the other kid for supper and then hit the gym! Very glad I did, it had been a while since I lifted!!! Powered through and checked my training schedule only to realize I was supposed to run two miles tonight! Glad I checked!!!!

Anyway, busy weekend ahead. I love Easter, but I'm always packed with singing and stuff. We also put on a brunch at church for the youth group, so little one and I have to work to set up and serve as well! Not that I'm complaining.. it's a great cause, but I'll be super busy! Plus, I have a nine mile training run scheduled for tomorrow!! Wow, never thought I'd even contemplate a NINE mile run!!!! What the heck am I thinking? My 10k is in two weeks and I want to be as trained and ready as possible, that's what I'm thinking!!!!!

I'm sure I'll be checking in, but if I'm not here for some reason, I hope you'll understand why!!!!! Happy Easter everyone!

Off to do my final walk of the challenge- so just want to wish everyone a great start to the weekend ( or a continuation for those who had yesterday off)
Cazz- when is your ex's CABG scheduled for?I will be thinking of you and your family because I know how stressful this kind of good news can be- get him out of bed and walking as soon as possible- the sooner out of bed the quicker his surgery (sorry for the lecture this is my mom's field of expertise and when you grow up with CABG and related talk in your house it kind of becomes second nature to give advice- even when not asked for so- sorry if I sound lecture-y)

Jen... No problem! I am an RN. We have been divorced for YEARS! So I won't be getting him up for anything!! LOL But he is at Cedar Sinai in Hollywood... an excellent hospital. I have faith they will take very good care of him. I have informed our children of the procedure and what to expect... yada yada yada. Our oldest son told me today that they denied him for the heart transplant list. So they aren't too happy right now. (The surgery was today. And he came through it fine.)

Cazz- glad to hear is is doing well- even if an ex he is still the father of your children so I know you care about how he does- hopefully his health will improve enough post cabg that he may be re-considered for the UNOS list- even for a piggyback transplant if that is what's needed.

OK EVERYONE- I have completed my walk It was sunny and in the 80's by the end of it which is gorgeous but way too hot for dragging my nearly 300lb backside across 3 provinces (i live on the border so even a short walk does that but it at leasts sound dramatic :blushing: ) In the end I did 10.3 very slow, long miles

near the end I wa tired and had no idea how much further I had to go- so I asked a guy washing his car if I was in side the limits of Veerle yet (my village in Antwerp) he said nope I was still in Limburg (another province) - I nearly layed down and cried I was so hot and tired! but then Gwen Stefani's What you waiting for came on the ipod and helped ALOT- it's amazing what the right song will do?

So my question is- What are your "power"songs?- I cold use some inspiration

according to my adidas my coach I burnt more than 3000 calories- of course mfp only gives me credit for half of that - but there will be a margarita or some white wine in food log tonight!!!

now off to ice my ankle- have a great day everyone!

Yep. That's what I told the kids. We will have to wait and see what happens.

    "3 am" Matchbox 20
    "Bleed Red" Ronnie Dunn
"Because the Night" Patti Smith Group
    "Pink House" John Cougar Mellencamp
    "Authority Song" John Cougar Mellencamp
    "Bleeding Love" Leona Lewis
    "Undo It" Carrie Underwood
"It's Not My Time" 3 Doors Down
"Sugar we're going Down" Fallout Boy
    "Killer Queen" Queen
    "Walk This Way" Aerosmith
    "Gimmie That Girl" Joe Nichols
and for a cool down that heats me up EVERYTIME... "Just Got Started Lovin' You" James Otto This guy... his voice just MELTS me!! LOL

Well, ladies... I'm gonna brag a minute, if you don't mind... I just ran NINE FREAKING MILES!!!!! Holy crap! I wanted to quit and was really really really tired by the end, but I powered through and I DID IT!!!! I feel like I can do anything right now.... well, as long as it doesn't involve moving, I'm pretty sore (knees) but I know I'll feel better tomorrow and I just feel invincible!!!

Wow, ok, sorry... had to do that! I can't share my playlist, you guys would die if you saw the variety I have!!! Seriously, I've been known to go from Josh Groban, to Janis Joplin and Johnny Cash to Kid Rock all in the same run!!!! Oh, and throw in some Amy Grant and Trisha Yearwood... and my favorites are Kenny Chesney and Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood.

So I hope you have an amazing Easter weekend... I'll be singing my praises all morning!!!

    I was wondering this, too.

I am quite extremely frustrated at myself!!! :explode: I feel like I blew it at dinner today. It's like I could FEEL myself going into my old mindset - one more serving isn't going to do much, one more piece of cobbler, one more roll - UGH!!!!!! I have done SO good with THINKING before I'm eating and telling myself to listen to my stomach for when I'm full and now I'm miserably stuffed!!!  I MUST do better. I don't have a problem with what was served for dinner, but I didn't have eat so much.

This has definately been a learning experience for me this year. I guess I'm still learning.

But tomorrow's a new day and the starting of a new challenge!!! I'm excited. Love the name for it!! I'm going to go do P90X now.

Sounds like everyone's doing awesome!!! Keep it up. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

Crystal, you're right... tomorrow is another day and another chance to make a better choice!! You'll do it! Just remember how you felt this time and you're bound to make a better choice next time!!!!

Great day today, ended up walking up to the gym (1.5 miles each way) and lifting weights! No running, the knees wouldn't like me after yesterday's beating!!! LOL! They don't hurt, just don't want to cause a problem!

Happy Easter! I actually wanted to workout so I could eat my chocolate Easter bunny that's sitting here staring at me!! LOL!

Okay... so my guesstimate is I ate 800 calories for dinner. And I didn't stuff myself! I had a piece of turkey and a small piece of ham (will pay for THAT sodium!) and maybe 1/4 c of stuffing (more sodium!) and some creamed corn... mashed potatoes, gravy and only ONE roll!! Plus, I ate the smallest piece of chocolate cake ever - seriously a 1/4" sliver! I feel like I ate decent portions so I'm okay with the calorie intake. The part I find hard to believe is this: I DRANK WATER! no soda, no wine, no beer... JUST water. So THAT is my major happy for the day!!

    Happy Easter to everyone!!
