    Hi, all. I'm pleased to be back in the land of the living. The pollen we've got here in DC totally kicked my butt on Sunday and yesterday, leaving me home, hiding from the evils floating in the air... (sigh). I've a love-hate relationship with spring, truly.

    But on to this week's challenge! I'm psyched, because today I ended up trying some new workout equipment that I'd not done, courtesy of my trainer! We did almost an entire workout with ropes -- big, thick, heavy ropes. Looked deceptively simple, but I feel like spaghetti right now, and can't wait to try again!

    :'D I'm so happy!!! It's faaantastic! I'm looking forward to trying 6W6P when I finally get it from the library... Maybe later today! I hope I don't like it, so that I'm not tempted to buy another one... But I'll wait until I'm at least finished Ripped! :laugh:

    Sabrina... Great job with that new workout!

    caitlin... Fantastic with the new equipment! When I go back to school, I know for a fact that the gym is gonna be cheaper than my last school, and I am SO excited about the gym! Really ambitious with the chin up machine!!

    aprilsonshine... I'm glad you tried something new! It's really great to push out of our comfort zones!

    Still trying to find time to get in the new exercises... my available days are quickly running out (camping this weekend and hockey game on tonight - maybe I can get my hubby to partake in the Wii after the game tonight, we'll see:D

    I was totally worried about today when I saw I only had 2 fruit and 4 veggie servings. I was getting hungry this evening, so I made myself eat a green pepper instead of something carb... :laugh:

    I was also looking a some workout DVD I haven't tried yet, but it had a lot of strength in it, so I decided not to do it today, because of Ripped in 30... Actually, I just remembered now that I was gonna do it without weights, but I ended up on the bike and dancing instead. :wink:

    I did short yoga video on exercise tv tonight, it was my rest day...which was very nice! I learned 2 things from this experience... Having to share a yoga mat with a 110lb.dog makes yoga very interesting! And the instructor in the video was very annoying! Lol.
    Juicing tomorrow, super veggie/fruit load!! ;)

    @Steph_135 - Yes! I love the spaghetti feeling (I also love spaghetti, but that's another conversation entirely.) :laugh:

    @loveme445 - Yup, big heavy ropes ala Biggest Loser, but also some military-inspired stuff (my trainer is an ex Marine). I felt pretty bad-@$-ed afterwards! :happy:

    Today, I didn't want to do anything, but after meeting another friend at the gym, ended up running a 5k on the treadmill for the first time since probably last year (pre-wedding), so I'm going to count that as something in a new way since I only have done 5k outside. I'm feeling pretty proud right now, though still sore from yesterday. :tongue:

    I will try to come up with something else unique for later on this week. Though my trainer may have more surprises for me tomorrow, too.

    Got all my fruit & veg in and then some yesterday: 8 servings! Wasn't that difficult to do as I'm used to a mostly-veggie diet, and have been trying extra hard to cut caffeine, refined sugar, alcohol, and processed foods (acronym: C.R.A.P.) out. Now, I just have to keep that momentum going. Springtime and summer do make it easier, with lots more fresh stuff out there!

    Today will be a challenge as I'm meeting a friend for lunch (plan: salad) and the hubby and I are bringing homemade pizza to friends tonight to watch hockey (carbs I don't need).

    That is a creative acronym... in that case I am cutting out all the RAP (which I prefer to avoid anyways HAHA) ..... love me some coffee and it's pretty black so I won't be giving that up.

    I broke out my cardio dance DVD tonight!! So that makes 2 new exercises this week! My F/V is not so great, but it is getting better! I am making progress!!

    4 and 4....and for a new exercise, I was looking for some abdominal related things to do at home and I tried something that I can now not remember the name of but I think it was something along the lines of a plank twist....really hard but I want to try it again tomorrow!

    I really didn't like the DVD I tried today. I've had it for a long time, it's called Cardio Sculpt Fusion. I didn't like it because the WARM UP was fast paced, and when it came to the moves, they were all weights and lunges and squats, and I get that from Ripped in 30, so I only tried 10 minutes of it. I wanted to give it more of a chance, but I had JUST finished Ripped, and was tired. I wish I had done more of a workout today... :ohwell:

    mjslazak... Great job on treadmill! That's excellent! I'm cutting bad sugars as well.

    tbever... Keep improving! I you just add one more fruit/veggie per day, you'll be in a great place at the end of the week!

    Yesterday I tried the Arch Trainer at the gym for the first time. It was good cardio workout (did it for 40 minutes and then 20 minutes on the "wave" again). Not sure I would go on it a lot, as the movement is too limited for me...but it was great to try and I worked up a good sweat!

    Finally tried a “new exercise” last night. Actually it was a Boot Camp class that I haven’t been to since last year. The last time I took the class, I had to stop several times because that is a tough class. Im happy to report that I SURVIVED! The class was still tough but I only stopped once or twice and I was able to do some exercises that I have been struggling with. So, I will be taken that Boot Camp class weekly. :smile:

    Ok, so I may never make it to 7 servings this week!! I really don't like veggies, but I am trying to force myself! I actually got a salad today for lunch instead of the baked chips that would normally accompany my sandwich. And have definetly eaten more fruit this week thanks to this challenge!! YEAH, thanks loveme445 for making me think about what I am eating a little more!

    Exercise didn't happen at all today! I have a messed up schedule every other Thursday, and it only happens if I do it on my lunch break. And today, I opted for lunch with the girls.

    All of you are so inspiring! I love reading your posts! Keep up the good work! On a happy note, I weighed in the 180's this morning, which is new! YEAH!! There just may be something to this fruit and veggie thing after all!! LOL!!

    I thought it would be fun to inform this group that I've noticed an increase in BM frequency! Anyone else getting this lately from adding more fruits/veggies into their diets? My naturopath's been trying things to get me to go more often. Who knew a few more veggies was all it would take? I'm 2 for 2 now. :bigsmile: (TMI!!!)

    Im happy to report that I SURVIVED! The class was still tough but I only stopped once or twice and I was able to do some exercises that I have been struggling with. So, I will be taken that Boot Camp class weekly. :smile:

    tbever... You got a .5 more than yesterday! You're still getting better, and you are FAR ahead from where you started. I love eating salads when they are made for me. If I order it, it could be a garden salad with nothing on it, and I would eat the whole thing. They just taste better when you don't have to make them yourself. CONGRATS on the 180's!! :drinker:
