I can't remember the exact percentages, but your protein should be the highest, then carbs, then fat. Protein will keep you fuller longer, and you need carbs when you're working out.

well i have just seen a nutionist and he told me that each meal i should be having 40% protein, 40% carbs and 20% fats on each meal.....

.....this does seem odd to me because i tend to keep my carbs much lower but i suppose that includes veggies.

Iv probably been given this plan because he is going to do a lot of strength training with me.

It all depends on your goals. When I did Body for life they recommended 40protein, 40 carbs, and 20 fat. That is what I currently do again. It has worked well for me.

If weight loss is your only concern right now just find a balance that works for you. 40/30/30, 40/40/20, 50/30/20, etc. all have their small advantages, but from what I've read when it comes to weight loss, the ratio doesn't matter as much as long as you are maintaining a calorie deficit.
