Watch out what kind of fat you eat, saturated fat like in coconut oil or in animal fat is in large amounts not too good, it can make you choleserol go up and is bad for your arteries and not too healthy for your body, even if you loose weight.
Try to get more unsaturated fat out of, e.g. Olive oil, fish (lika salmon or tuna) or avocado.

Saturated fat is not bad for you..............Saturated fat is very necessary in generous quantities for a lot of essential body functions, especially brain function.

Here is some educational reading for you :flowerforyou:

I just started doing keto a week ago. I am finding it very hard to eat enough calories. The first week they told me "don't count the calories, just count the carbs." At the end of the week I looked back at my food log and counted the calories - I was eating 900 to 1,000 calories each day. Not good. Now I know to add more butter and I am learning what other types of fat to add to bring up the calorie count.

Remember 1 gram of fat is 9 calories. I am having trouble figuring how to add enough fats as I have been trained that fats are bad for so many years...but I am getting there. Butter has alot of salt. Use oils to cook your food, add nuts to you diet...almonds are really good- just make sure they are not salted or coated with sweet stuff.

Also 30-50 grams of carbs or less to stay in ketosis...this is what I keep seeing.

I have been experimenting with this since Aug 1st and found it a very positive experience.

    Yay for some more Keto's!!

    Add me as a friend!

I have tried Keto a few times but never last more than I few weeks, I hit my goal weight of around 72kg's and about 2.5 weeks in then I have the biggest carb cravings!

The Dr has told me I need to focus on making this diet work as I have digestive issues that resolve themselves when I minimise on the carbs.

The issue I have is i binge on carbs - I do the time being good - I lost heaps of weight this year and then I have a bad day and eat to excess on stupid carbs namely, chips, crisps, chocolate, ice cream, cookies etc... to the point I'll go out and buy them in excess and eat stuff that I don't actually like!

Anyways - first day on Keto here I come again...
