Okay, I know I am on the same high horse as usual, but I am TIRED of seeing diaries where my friends are either:

a) not eating NEARLY enough -- we're talking under 1,200 calories a day -- to LIVE, let alone thrive, and everybody "woo-hooing" them and giving them "way to go's" for starving themselves and/or

b) staying within their calorie count, but eating things like Captain Crunch for breakfast or some other such crapola.

I know we are all working on calorie counts, but PLEASE consider what is good for your body -- nutritious and healthy -- and not just how many calories it has.

I am NOT a perfect eater (especially since I've been on vacation for 10 days now), but I'm working on being a much healthier eater. We need to be going towards health and not just avoiding calories.

Okay, I feel better now. Eat well, people! :grumble:

I can't help but wonder if the people that are way below are logging everything that they eat, especially when meals are left out.

You can eat that bad stuff when while losing weight, it's all about moderation. When I first lost weight, I was probably consuming close to 5000 calories per day and still lost 2 lbs a week. Now that I'm trying to lose the rest of it, I'm trying to eat better.

LOL I was thinking a similar thing when I see the "way to gos" on ppls diary's that ate under their calorie count. But I understand where they are coming from. Some people may not be eating back there exercise calories or maybe just had 100 cals to go. Its a good motivator for ppl who normally eat or tend to eat over there cal intake for the day.

Some people (like myself) are not hungry and there is no reason to stuff ourselves with food for the sake of being at a certain "number" of calories........

Personally, I don't count calories, I don't believe it is the *number* of calories that is important, but the quality of those calories that is important.

If people want to eat capn crunch thats pretty much their buisness and choice.

It is all a matter of personal opinion. If you wish to only eat clean then great, more power to you! However I and many others do not for one reason or another. For me I know for this to be a lifelong change I have to be allowed some things including on occasion captain crunch. Everyone is here to become healthier, there is no one correct path to do so.

I agree that the choice is up to the individual but I know a person who had 10 chicken wings for breakfast and some hamburger fast food stuff for dinner and that was all. At least one person gave him "WTG" I thought, really?
I will probably take that person out of the friend list as I want to be able to connect with folks who are making safe and healthy choices.

This reminds me of all the threads I saw today where people were upset that people were judging them for making healthy choices, just the other way around.

Maybe they are on a low carb plan and chicken wings are allowed as well as a burger............

I am one of those people who are usually below their calorie count, and yes-I log in everything. I am trying to eat healthy foods, and am doing well with that. My difficulty is that I am usually not hungry by evening, and that makes it harder to get all of my caloroes in for the day. I am trying to keep it as close to the calrories I'm supposed tp be eating as I can, but this first couple of weeks has been a 'retrainnng' of my eating habits, and I'm sure it will even out as I go along. I'm actually eating a larger volume of food than I did before I started the diet changes, but my eating habits had become very unhealthy. As i said, I think it will balence out as I continue with the diet changes and find the best ways to get all my calories in and stay within my guidelines. Beast wishes to all on this journey, :)

My two cents worth - if people are asking for your opinion about what they are eating then feel free to give them your opinion - if they are not asking your opinion - then keep your opinion to yourself...

I have seen some very thin and young people here that feel as though they need to lose weight.

I don't criticize them, but I don't think folks should be congratulating them for starving themselves.
Eating disorders are dangerous and a serious problem.

Be sure to read what a person has done before responding with a "Way to Go",or "Good Job"

Damn....now I want cap'n crunch.... and I never buy thoes kinds of cereals

    Thanks a lot :P

Oh. And I usually try to encourage my friends who are eating less than they should. As far as what food choices people are making....it is up to them. You have no idea about Where they ware on their journey. My first goal is to eat less....I will fine tune my nutrition as I go along.
You could always just Not read the diaries.
    That would be your choice

The only thing I have to say is:

What people eat is their choice.
If you don't like it, you don't have to read their diaries.
