This is my first post in this group. I was in Kistinbee's old group, I fell off as she did and now I am back.
Started MFP~176 lbs
Fell off wagon~164 lbs
Started (8-22)~164 lbs ( I maintained my weight and that was good)
Today (8-26)~161.5 ( I have lost a little over 2 pounds, I am so happy.)
I have not exercised at all since the middle of May, so I was nervous to go again. I have got myself up to running 2 miles so far. I am slowly getting back up there. I am only going to run 3 times a week because last time I over did it and really injured my knees. I have no idea what I am going to eat today. I will probably look at all of your ideas.
Good luck at your interview Kistinbee~I know that can be stressful! By the way the title Twenty Pound Somethings~does that mean that is the goal for this group...to lose twenty pounds? I was just wondering since I have not seen the begining post.:flowerforyou:

Good morning everyone! Welcome to the group Families_R_Forever! This group was started by someone who doesn't even post anymore  And we've lost lots of original members so we're very happy to have you! This was a 20lbs in 13 weeks challenge and we're half way, starting week 7.
So, I did weigh in this morning but I shouldn't have due to it being that pesky TOM and all. I KNEW I shouldn't but I just couldn't avoid that scale. So, sadly, here's me today:
week 1: 201lbs
week 2: 197.6 lbs
week 3: 195.0lbs
week 4: 194.8lbs
week 5: ?
week 6: 189.6lbs
week 7: 190.2lbs ...movement in the WRONG direction but for now I'll credit it to water weight.
goal weight: 181
lost so far: 10.8 lbs!
lbs to go: 9.2 lbs!!
Chipper, I always notice a big difference when I'm drinking lots of water. Good for you!
My plan for the day is:
1: leftovers (bison meatballs and rice)
2: protein shake (choc whey powder & plain almond milk), carrot ginger soup, Ezekiel low-sodium bread w/ olivina and raspberry jam sweetened w/ fruit juice
3: luna bar
4: bean chili & spinach salad
5: raincoast crisp crackers (rosemary pecan) & organic soy chocolate ice cream sandwich
good food day today!
I'm doing body pump this morning and hopefully taking my kiddos swimming this afternoon.
Have a great one everybody! :bigsmile:0 -
Thank you PedalHound for the update! I don't think that I can make the goal of losing 20 pounds at this point since the 13 weeks is half over, but I will just do a individual goal of 10 pounds. So for me in this group I will be trying to get to 154. I think that this is a reasonable goal for me. It sounds like you are right on track with where you need to be. Great Job!!!0

Thank you! I don't feel on track but I'm sure my morale will return when the hag leaves lol I was hoping to lose more like 26 lbs in 13 weeks since I'm trying to lose a lb a week. We shall see what the next half brings. Good for you joining in! 10lbs is a great goal
BodyPump was fun but I didn't get to finish it (I have an instructor training video so I'm one of the lucky few to have access at home!). My kiddos have a tough time letting me work out for an hour

Well...I think the interview went well, but I don't know if the position is what I am looking for. I will have to do some serious thinking....if they even offer it to me, that is. The one I applied for last week is exactly what I'm looking for and of course I haven't heard back from them yet.
So...here's the weigh in:
Week 1-171.5 pounds
Week 2-170.0 pounds
Week 3-169.0 pounds
Week 4-169.5 pounds
Week 5-168.5 pounds
Week 6-165.0 pounds
Week 7-165.0 pounds...so no loss no gain, and with a bad past weekend, I'm okay with it!
Total loss--6.5 pounds
Total remaining--13.5 pounds (I think I can...I think I can...)
Goal (after week 13)--151.5 pounds
Past week mini-goal recap:
1. Lose another 2 pounds (weigh in at 163 next week)...... Not even close
2. Avoid the ice cream...I CAN DO IT!!!!! .................ACCOMPLISHED!!!
3. Mix up my breakfast every day ...................ACCOMPLISHED!!!!
So...new mini goals:
1. Lose 1 pound before Friday when we leave for Lake of the Ozarks
2. Lose 1 pound over Labor Day Weekend...this will be a challenge, but I want to hit my 10 pound mark!
3. Go running everyday while at the lake!!
So, yes...my goals are revolving around the upcoming weekend, but I think it will be my biggest challenge this week. I will weigh in Friday and check back in on Tuesday...for Week 8. And...I won't be able to post at all Friday evening until Tuesday afternoon, so someone will need to start Week 8. I am scared...drinks and pasta salads and bad bad things...:noway: WHAT WILL I DO?? I think I will be fine...it's all about portion control, right?? I can do it!!
Here's the meal plan for the day:
Breakfast:
Cinnamon raison bagel with 2 tbsp. fat free strawberry cream cheese, 1 med. banana, 2 c. coffee with 2 tbsp. vanilla caramel sugar free creamer, 1 multivitamin.
NO AM SNACK--interview
Lunch:
Tuna Salad Sandwich (2 sl. village hearth wheat bread, 1 single tuna in water, 1 tbsp. reduced mayo, 1 sl. fat free american cheese), 14 baby carrots, AE YoLite yogurt, 1 c. green grapes, diet coke.
Afternoon snack:
100 cal. pack almonds, Kashi TLC Cherry Drak Chocolate granola bar.
Dinner:
Leftovers--1 c. pasta bake, homemade basic salad with spritzer dressing
PM Snack:
depends on remaining calories.
Exercise plan--45 minute step class, 15 minute ab workout, Week 6 Day 1 100 pushup challenge.
Well...I wish you all a FABULOUS rest of the day! Keep up the good work!!!0 -

Good Afternoon All,
Welcome Families R Forever. I’m new to this group, joined last week and they are all wonderful.
Chipper, you are down another 2 pounds, you’ve lost so much. How long has this taken?
PedalHound, that little gain is nothing; you know next week will be a better week.
Kistinbee, I am also worried about this weekend, but I think we must plan ahead as much as possible and forgive little indulgences, so we can get right back on track. Oh, and about your first interview-it’s only been a week, you could still get a call from them and I will keep my fingers crossed for you. And I like your new picture I am going to change mine to my kitty until I get a better one of me.
Good News! I’m down 2 pounds. The grand total is 3. It’s not much, but headed in the right direction!
I admit I did not exercise yesterday and I’m sorry about that. I will have to do better today.
Today:
1: oatmeal, banana, splenda brown sugar, coffee w/ sugar free creamer
2: Logan’s Roadhouse with Mom; a grilled chicken salad, avoided the rolls
3: watermelon
4: Lean cusine
5: Skinny cow ice cream sandwich
Exercise: 45 min. walk/jog0 -
deblaf....i started this jouney 6/06 when i was DX with diabetes. after losing 70 some pounds, doc decided that it was time to quit smoking. with that i put on 25#s. i stopped 2/26/07 and now that i have retrained myself to live this way. i am getting back on the weight loss wagon again. but, also in the last year i have had many medical problems that needed taken care of. now that's over. on i go.

Thanks for your thoughts DebLaf...you are truly wonderful! I have my fingers crossed also. Yes...I've already been trying to plan for next weekend...I'm taking lots of fruit and veggies. But...like I've mentioned, we are eating with other people as well, so here's what I know so far:
Breakfasts will be on our own probably...so I'm bringing yogurt and some cereal...things I normally eat for breakfast. I think they are planning on making egg sandwiches at least one morning...but I will probably either pass or ask for eggs just scrambled or something.
Lunches will probably be sandwiches...but I am bringing my light bread and fat free cheese and a friend is bringing some turkey, so I'm not really worried. I will also bring some veggies...carrots and cucumber and tomato.
Dinner plans:
Friday night (on our drive down) they always stop at I think it's a Burger King...wonderful, right? I will just make good choices...I can do it. Plus, even the thought of greasy, fatty foods makes my stomach churn. Last time I ate it, I got sick...doesn't sit well anymore.
For the rest of the nights...one night is Cavatelli that a friend is making...carbs, carbs, carbs...argh!:explode: But I will bring stuff so I can have a BIG salad first.
Another night is burgers, brats, and hotdogs...I'm bringing light buns, turkey brats, and whatnot...so not too worried. But they want pasta salad with it, so we're bringing Suddenly Salad mixes and I can totally portion. I think someone is bringing baked beans also.
And the other night is fajitas with chicken...this won't be too bad. And I'll probably just not have a fajita but just the chicken and veggies...yumm! Again...Salad to start!
Snacks will be lots of fruit and I will bring some granola bars and what-have-yas that I normally eat. So...I'm hoping it won't be too terrible a weekend. And we are planning on running in the mornings. I'm gonna have fun though and not worry too much!
WE CAN TOTALLY CONQUER THIS DEBLAF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TTYL!0 -
Ohh KRISTIN!! Here's a tip for Burger King- you can get the whopper jr with cheese, with no mayo and a side garden salad and its UNDER 400 calories!
Or, if you want to be bad and not have a salad, the small order of onion rings is 150 calories. Not too shabby for fast food calories!
I got this idea from this website: www.eatthis.com
They have different fast food places and sit down places and it suggests which meals at the places to have that are more nutritional than others. They give the stats and stuff for the meals and all, its a really cool website, I like to use it if I know I am going out anywhere to eat!

Thanks sweet ! Not sure what I'll end up doing. maybe even just a salad. I really don't know how greasy burger will do in my tummy. Thanks for the suggestion! I will check out the website for sure!0 -

Hey Katy,
You lost 5 pounds in one week. I was hoping for something like that since I am just starting, but you have been doing this for a while. We are about the same weight, I'm down to 214.2. Have a good night. Oh, and I am still trying to figure out how using the quote works, as you can see I don't quite have it down yet.:noway:0 -

Aww, I totally feel for you hun. When we plan our days so carefully those "surprises" are rough! You can do it. You're doing so well and you can get through a few rough days. I know it's not ideal but you're really good at this!!! :flowerforyou:0 -
Well, my kiddos and I just got back from our swim at the pool. We have never gone just the three of us before so that was really fun. I had to buy a new bathing suit downtown first which wasn't as horrible as it used to be. So that's good.
Anyway, on with my afternoon!!0 -

Well, I've planned out my meals for tomorrow because I'm here waiting for my supper to finish cooking!
1: 1/2 sprouted grain bagel w/ 1.5 tbsp natural peanut butter, 1/4 cup blueberries
2: chocolate protein shake (after teaching stroller fitness), carrot ginger soup, 1 slice Ezekiel no sodium bread w/ 2 tsp olivina & 1 tbsp fruit juice sweetened raspberry jam
3: Luna bar, "salad" made of alfalfa sprouts, arame seaweed & hummus
4: green beans, beets, Ezekiel bread grilled cheese sandwich
5: raincoast crisp cranberry pecan crackers & organic chocolate soy ice cream bar
For working out, I'm teaching stroller fitness. There may or may not be a work out dvd or quick bike ride or gym outing also.
Kristin, I hope dinner went okay0 -
Well...let's just say that I ate WAY more than was necessary! But...it could have been worse. I found a site (of course after eating) with nutrition facts...so i will do some figuring tomorrow and see what kind of damage I did. But now it's bed time...
Talk to you all tomorrow! Nighty night!:yawn:0 -
Checking in now really quick. Forgot to mention I'll be at a Farm Progress Show all day today for work (until about 3) and they are providing lunch. So, I will just post meals later today.
Have a GREAT day friends!!!0 -
Good Morning,
Hey Pedalhound, those raincoast crisp cranberry pecan crackers sound good. Can you find them in any grocery store or is it a whole food store? We don't have a whole food store very close to us, it's about a 25 minute drive.
I am posting this at 9:30 my time here in Michigan, where are you ladies from?
I am really upset with my hubby right now and typically that is always when I over eat, but I didn't do to bad. I tried only one of kistenbees mock ice cream sand. with the graham cracker & cool whip and I was very satisfied.
Today:
1: English muffin, 1 egg, 1 slice ham- (my homemade egg mcmuffin) no cheese or butter
2: Luna bar & skim milk
3: Homemad salad
4: fiber one bar
5: wheat pasta w/ sauce I'll really watch my portions here
Exercise: 30 aerobic class 30 min. strength training class
I am getting back into bike riding, I've always enjoyed it. We moved here 5 years ago and I quit riding, because there are so many hills. I am always worn out when I get home, since these hills are such a workout. But, I'm slowly getting better at it. Yea!
Have a great day everyone.0 -
DebLaf, they are these fabulous natural crackers that are made in Vancouver. I live on Vancouver Island. I'm lucky to live in an organic health mecca of a province - we've got tons of amazing products like that. My mother in Ontario has found them at specialty markets but I honestly don't know if they're in the states.
So, I'm checking in again! As I expected, the stagnant weight was water and today, along with the hag, it's gone. Here's my weekly review:
week 1: 201lbs
week 2: 197.6 lbs
week 3: 195.0lbs
week 4: 194.8lbs
week 5: ?
week 6: 189.6lbs
week 7: 187.2lbs ... 2.4 lbs lost!
goal weight: 181
lost so far: 13.8 lbs!
lbs to go: 6.2 lbs!! YEAH!!!! Now THAT'S a better way to start things off this week!!
Lots going on today so I'll check back in later on!
WAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I didn't even think about my ticker..... YEAH!!!! :glasses: :noway: :glasses:  :glasses: :noway: :glasses:   :bigsmile:0 -

sorry to double post. Too excited lol0 -
Well i am back on MFP i havent been on a lot lately. I just re read the twenty pound somethings week 3 which was week two for me and i was at 146.5 lbs well 4 weeks lateri am only at 144 lbs so in 4 weeks ive lost 2.5 lbs
My weight loss is going along really slow about an average of three pounds a month. I guess thats probably what happens when you get closer to your goal weight
I have another 15 lbs to go and 7 weeks to do it in. Its a long stretch i am thinking i probably will maybe squeek in another 4 lbs of that. But ill keep you posted! Good luck everyone!0 -
Hey Pedalhound,
Good for you!! You're almost there. How will you celebrate or reward yourself when you get to goal? :bigsmile:0 -
Hmm.. I don't know! I hadn't thought of doing a reward for getting to 20 during the challenge, nor have I really done rewards throughout. I think I just feel so good about being healthier that it is its own reward (as corny as that sounds). :bigsmile:0

Hey guys!
Today:
bfast: luna bar
lunch: subway 6in turkey on wheat with 2 chz triangles
dinner: not sure yet, proly protein shake
snacks: protein water mix, maybe later on a fiber 1 bar,or baby carrots or fiber water mix
exercise: 65min on exercise bike...says it burned 1404 cals...what do you guys think? this seems high to me but I dunno. I program it on the highest and hardest program on it.
Yesterday I didnt exercise, and for dinner had 1/2 a turkey sandwich and 3/4 cup healthy choice soup.
Im feeling soo exhausted this week, not sure if it is bc of the weather (its been raining for like 3 days now- surprisingly the sun is out this evening, but its still wet outside) or if I am just zapped bc its about to be my TOM...anyone else get tired a few days or a week before your TOM??0
