Since we're talking about bra sizes. Is it possible to be in between cup sizes? I swear I'm a DD, but my boobs are so floppy and saggy (for lack of better words) that I need serious support to hold them up where they "should" be. In order to get the support I want/need I feel that D cups fit me better. DD doesn't fit as tight or support as well, even though it feels like my breast sits better inside that cup. Does this make sense? Should I continue in a D cup or should I try a great push up bra in DD size? It is so frustrating. When I take off my bra I literally lose 4-5 inches of lift. Anyone else plan on getting a breast lift when they reach their goal weight? I'm only 26 and have breasts like a 40 year old. They've always been this way, I've needed supportive push ups since I was 15. I hate it! lol0

Your best bet really is to go to a good old fashioned "foundation" store and get properly fitted. Most women are in the wrong size bra to begin with, usually wearing too small a cup size and too large a band size. If you don't have a foundation store near you, Nordstroms tends to have very good bra fitters. (Victoria's Secret is hit and miss on bra fitting IME.)
Finding a D or even a DD is not a problem in most foundation stores or foundation departments of larger upscale department stores these days. As women have become heavier and larger in general, these are very common cup sizes these days.
Le Mystere makes fabulous bras (especially in larger cup sizes) and can be found in Nordstroms.0 -
Lilyette Plunge Into Comfort Minimizer Bra - style 0904 does wonders for me, as pregnancies and gravity have had their influences. I'm a 40 DD, and this bra makes me look much younger, especially in t-shirts.
Thank you!0 -
I’m interested in this post, as well. I’m sporting a pair of “D’s” and am about to un-grow the ones I have now. I was under the impression that VS only caters to smaller frames and little cup sizes. I am now going to have to go surf this out, because I want something comfy, supportive, but without increasing how big they already look, LOL...
I am with you on this one! I have never seen the bigger bras at VS! I usually go to Cacique for mine. Not a lot of places carry G / H and fit right. I will need to check this out too.0 -

I agree 100% with Atlantique! If you want to find bras that fit CORRECTLY then you've got to go to the old school bra shops (not familiar with the nicer department store's lingerie). Just like any other clothing, different styles and brands will fit you differently, so you may actually go home with bras in different sizes.
If you can't buy all your bras at one of these stores, then I suggest you go and get just one there, so at least you know what to look for in a correctly fitted bra. Talk to the sales people - they can tell you specifics about where the underwire should lay and things like that.
Happy shopping!0 -
Smaller cup sizes like a C and D etc get a great choice, you can buy off the rack so to speak (no pun intended lol) the trouble starts when you get yo bigger cup sizes and then you are stuck. Places on the high street tend to not carry big cup sizes, and the bigger the boobs, the less the choice. I have to buy from specialist stores, as places like Victoria Secret etc do not carry my size. I find that Bravissimo is the best for me, they fit ladies with big boobs and they are great.0

I swear by Lilyette. They are fabulous for larger breasts. Full-coverage, and they really lift and separate. You can also usually find a good buy 2, get 1 free deal at Macy's or other similar department stores. I used to only buy VS bras, but once I got over not being 25 anymore, I figured that there was a reason the old ladies chose Lilyette... and I haven't regretted my decision in YEARS. Love them.
P.S. the 921 is my favorite, but the 908 totally gives me Mad Men boobs!0 -
I've been buying Bali bras lately and have been really happy with the coverage and support. Fortunately I had a reduction when I was 19 (I had 5 pounds of tissue taken off) and am a 34C now. I can only imagine how bad I would have looked these last 20 years with all that extra boobage!!! Yuck! But that was me. Now I love how I can go to Macy's or whatever and grab a style and it fits! I never have good luck at VS, I can't wear demi styles because they always fall off my shoulders and I have muffin tops so bad, even on the sides!!! Icky! I can't remember the style of the Bali that I like, but it's got a lining which hides the peepers and makes everything smooth and they even had a couple cute colors!!! These tend to run in the $35 range, but I tend to find them on sale and got my last one's for like $20 each!0

That is untrue!! They cater to fuller sizes, and have more sizes online available if they aren't in the store VS also have a great line of sports bras that also cater to your needs...like for maximum support for running or for little support when you do yoga....I only have VS bras!! (though I am a little biased being a past associate lol)

Actually, after I posted last night I went over to the web site and was amazed at how many styles the DO have for us larger girls. I hate that I was just around the corner from the VS store in Raleigh yesterday. May have to make another trip out to the “city”!0 -
yes but they don't do my size lol, 32GG0

It sounds like you should be wearing a smaller band size. When I get measured at VS they say I should wear a 38 C !!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me?! HALF of one wouldnt fit in a C. I right now I wear a 36 DD and it's PERFECT although at this point I'm wearing it on the tightest hooks. I have a 34 for when I finished losing these last 6 or 7 lbs. If the DD cup feels better, go with a smaller band and adust the straps around until it feels right!! It could also be the style of bra you're choosing.0 -
Have you ever tried on a Victoria Secrets Bra? My daughter took me there a couple of months ago, I'm a 38 DD, and I was shocked at how well the bra fit. I would have dared go in there before, but I am hooked on the bra's now. Most comfy bra I have ever worn. I like the Cotton Lingerie line.0

I agree! VS racer backs. And they go up to DD. Well worth the money and they wash well. Last forever!0

I love Hot Milk. They're nursing bras but I think I'll wear mine forever! No underwire but hold you up nicely, beautiful materials and organic cotton cups... Heavenly!0
