My family and teachers tell me how much weight they think I've lost.
But 20lbs, doesn't look like ANYTHING at all to me.
I wouldn't have thought I've lost anything if it wasn't for the scale and the way my pants fall off my *kitten* when I walk now.
190lbs.
vs.
180lbs.
vs.
170lbs
So.. anyone else have a hard time seeing a 20lb difference on themselves, or is it just me?0 -
I've lost 27 lbs now, and I can see it a little bit, but I feel the difference in the way my clothes fit, more than anything else. The frustrating part for me, is that I haven't had anyone spontaneously tell me that they can see a difference yet. I don't generally tell people that I'm dieting, but I keep waiting for someone to notice...0

You can see it on you Congratulations! Try putting the pics right next to eachother. That will help you see it for yourself.
On a side note...I don't see my 24lb loss either. but my friends, family, hubby, and kids do! I guess it is all in the eye of the beholder!!!0 -
I can see a huge difference in your picture! Congrats:flowerfoyou:0

I think when people start losing weight, their confidence increases so they are able to see the good outcomes. But sometimes I feel like people still don't have great self confidence even after losing 20 pounds. If you're being told that you look like you've lost it, then it looks like you've lost it. Try and work on that confidence, girl and then maybe you'll start seeing it too. You're doing great Keep it up

Actually, I can say yes....until I looked at my before and now pics. I couldn't see it before until I found an old pic. I can see it now in the pics, but when I look in the mirror I don't. It can get discouraging, hence why I don't look in a full length mirror often I can see a difference in your pics! Your doing great!0

Maybe you don't LOOK noticeably smaller to yourself, but I bet you FEEL better0

I'm at 20 pounds, I see 0 difference. My clothes are a lot looser. But I'm still not even down to the next size. (started at 14 - I'm 5'-8", 155 pounds current)0

I feel the same exact way... I have lost 20 lbs and my pants feel better, but when I look at myself, my body is still the same.0

I can only tell because of the way my clothes fit ( and the number on the scale) but my co-workers say they can really see it. Funny thing is, I never seen myself as 'fat' either when I looked in the mirror, only when I saw pictures of myself.0

At first I couldn't. Now, that I have side by side comparison and was blown away by that, I see it when I look in the mirror. When I smile my cheeks aren't huge. I mostly notice my arms, but that is because my sleeves are so big on my arms now. You'll start to see it soon. Just keep truckin', hon!0

I have lost 33 pounds and like everyone else, I really have trouble seeing any difference in myself when I look in the mirror or look at pics. But, I can definitely tell a difference in the fact that my clothes are fitting much looser nowadays. Too bad for all of us that this is the way it seems to be, but maybe someday we will have a truer pic when we get to goal and look at the before and after pics then. Good luck to all.0

I did not think 25lbs looked like much till I had pics side by side. Here are mine. There is definitely a difference!

I'm 3lbs away from hitting the 20lb mark and I see a little. I notice it in my jeans and shorts. When I get out of bed, my shorts literally just fall right down and they used to be very snug on me. Now, I can pull them away from my body by almost 2 inches. I'm almost swimming in my jeans too. My shirts on the other hand...still fit EXACTLY the same. I feel like I'm losing my *kitten*, not my boobs! I want to lose some of my boobs! Just a little though!0

I've read all of your posts over and over last night. I feel the exact same way, I've lost 27lbs since last summer (12 since I started using MFP) and I only see the 20 or so that are left to lose. Of course my clothes don't fit me anymore but I see no difference and when I say that everyone gets mad. I see a change in my before and after photos but I still feel as fat as I used to feel. My mother is so exasperated that she took me shopping today for my birthday and forced me to try the most extreme things she could find (neon color jeans, snake print dress and shorts (I have shorts phobia)) and I finally saw a difference. I'm still well aware of the extra pounds but I was finally able to celebrate. You should all try that!0

I'm down 16 to date and cant tell when I look in the mirror but I have been taking progress pics and can absolutely see it there when I put them side by side! Huge motivator! 20 lbs is nothing to sneeze at! Keep up the good work!!
