Good Evening Blues,

Here's our new board.

Untitled-6.png

Sorry I've been MIA lately. I've been trying to figure out things at home. I will hopefully be more visible within the next couple of weeks. I'm supposed to be starting my summer leagues tomorrow but the fields are too wet so that may not be the case anymore.

My goals for this week are to check in here more often and to eat better this week and record everything.

I was planning on going to the gym tonight after work, but my husband called me and told me he made dinner. This is his only night off all week. So I went home to find a nice dinner with wine and roses. It was sweet. We don't drink on a regular basis, maybe once a year, and I only had a little because it's not really my thing. I'm not sure what the occasion was. It was very unhealthy, but it was good and I enjoyed the nice evening with my husband. I will go to the gym tomorrow.

Karen you made me feel less guilty! I have been sooo busy today that I barely am sitting down now...I am going to start C25K week 2 tomorrow, and do thursday and saturday this week too.

My baby is 2 months old today, and has doubled his birth weight! Talk about crazy, time just goes too quickly too!

Have a great evening, I'll see you tomorrow.

We had a lovely picnic last night. For once, the weather was beautiful. We grilled steaks and I roasted some veggies. It was great!

Glad to see that you are all doing well. Good to hear from you, Chrissy, and from Mayra, if only for a bump!

I'm hoping to get to the swimming pool after work today. Speaking of work, after today I only have 7 more days before the summer off! If I had to work past retirement, I'm glad I got a job at a school!

Good morning. Hope you all are doing great! I haven't really done much as far as exercise this week, but I still managed to lose over a pound. My knee has been bothering me for about 5 weeks now, so I am going to the doctor today just to make sure there is nothing wrong with it. At first I thought it's just because I'm overweight, but the other one doesn't hurt, and this one is real sensitive to any touch and movement. So I haven't really stuck with the C25K. That just made it hurt worse. I'll see what the doctor says and go from there.

Good afternoon, and happy Friday to all! I continue to be very busy, and don't get here as often as I should. Good to hear from you, Karen. Sorry about the knee. I'm glad you are getting it checked. Let us know what you find out!

I continue to be extremely busy. Tomorrow is graduation, and since I work at the high school, I have a string of parties to go to. I guess we'll see what my diary looks like tomorrow night! I am sure that I can manage it somehow.

I actually lost a pound again this week - losses 2 weeks in a row! Don't want to jinx myself, but I am hoping that I have seen the end of the plateau of the century.

    Have a great weekend!

Hi there! I am sorry I have been a little MIA this week. My hubby and I both celebrated birthdays, and that was only part of the week! Wednesday I went on a field trip with my daughter and the extent of my exercise this week has been walking with a purpose. Karen lets start up with week 2 next week--if your knee is up to it. You could try icing it after every workout, after stretching of course! My mom has had knee pain and it always seems to be related to tight hamstrings--see if stretching those helps.

I hope you are all doing well. Congrats Mary on another loss! I am thinking you may be on a downhill slope again!

Had a good time on a graduation party tour of LA (that's local talk for Larned America), but glad to be home, and kind of stuffed. However, I managed to keep my intake pretty much in check!

Hi all...I'm still here, just LAZY. Hope you are all well. I'm going to log my food this week and exercise 3 days, which will be 3 more than I've been doing. I totally fell off the wagon when I injured my back. I'm feeling some better now and I can do the elliptical machine. NO MORE EXCUSES!

I told you I was going to the doctor for my knee. Well he said the cartilage in my left knee is not as thick as it should be, but it's not too far gone yet. He gave me a prescription for the pain and swelling and told me to stick with low impact exercises. He also instructed me to get some supports for my shoe because the way I walk is a factor as well. Of course he said I need to get my weight down too. I go back in 3 weeks to see if the medication and shoe supports make any difference. If there is still fluid and swelling in the knee, I may get some kind of injection. It's only my left knee that hurts, which is also the same side that I damaged a joint in my foot last year. It all could be related. The right side is fine.

Karen - at least now you know what you are dealing with. Good luck with the medicine - crossing my fingers that it helps!

Just popping in quickly to tell you that so far, I have survived the tornadoes in Kansas (fingers crossed). They were very close, one within a couple of miles of my town. About 30 minutes away from me were two fatalities (tree fell on van). It has been touch and go, but I think we are okay for the moment. We have a 70% chance of storms all night, so don't know how much sleep I will get. I see on the news that they are also close to my daughter in Texas. Hoping and praying that all of you and yours are safe!

Mary I think that is a little too close for comfort! I wish you well and that you stay out of harms way. I have felt as though I don't have time to think lately. Lots to do and no time to do it! Hope everyone is well!

Sorry Deb, I haven't been staying accountable, or keeping you accountable. Are you still doing the C25K? I don't think running is going to be the best thing on the knee. The doctor told me I could do the elliptical, just not for too long all at once. I've heard of people doing the C25K intervals on an elliptical. I know it's not the same as running, but I might do it just to help me build up my endurance. Also, I need to get back to water aerobics. I loved that when I was doing it before.

I just weighed myself, and I gained again. It's my fault though. I haven't been logging my food, and when I don't log, I overeat.

I'm going to be out of town for the weekend, so I will be back on here Monday. Have a great weekend!

No worries Karen. I haven't been very good either. I have not exercised all week and I can feel it. I've gained this week too. I have decided it is time to make new goals and motivate myself again. I have been listening to a DVD called the inner weigh. It is kinda like the secret. I found it really interesting when it was said that your subconscious automatically looks for what you have lost which is why you can easily gain weight that is lost. The idea is to trick your mind by focusing on the things you gain or that you can have. So psyching yourself up for a treat of strawberries you know that sort of thing. It is quite interesting!

Hope you have a great weekend. We were going to go camping but with the forecast of rain and snow in the mountains we decided to postpone a few weeks. Eat a veggie for me!

    Hey all,
Sorry been a bit busy, and mia from this thread.

Hope everyone is doing well. Make good choices.
I've been keeping up with P90x and about my 30 days in.
I got in a 8km job/walk today with some HIIT - First time I've ran full out and not jogged in a long long time (baseball days) lol
Hammie knows it was a long time as well

Mary I'm sure it'll drop keep doing what your doing.
I'm finally dropped a few lbs that I had gained, so I'm no where better than when I started over a month ago. IN POUNDS.
I know my pants fit better, and feeling stronger/tighter in the upper body.

    Hi guys,

Have totally forgotten about myself and body, but now changing things around. I'm taking a break from schooling to focus on my body. Have been trying to get up early to workout for the past two weeks, but have been way too tired, and definitely out of the habit. I'm going to take advantage of this holiday weekend to get my body back on track. Today we're headed on a hiking trail and I'm excited to start this, and focus on my body again. I'm happy to be back guys, and have missed ya.

Peter, congrats on the pounds lost! It is of course more about what you feel that what the numbers say...Keep up the great work!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial day! Only three more days of school for my daughter and then we are on summer break. No more excuses for me.

    Hey all,

Well, I'm jumping in here again. Yesterday went to the park and jogged and walked for over 1 hour with my family for a 776 calorie burn. This morning so far I've done 25 minutes of Jillian Michael's 30 day shred, and also planning to use the gym during lunch time at work.

    Have an awesome day all!

    Mayra, good to see you!

Today is officially my first day with no school and no company, so let the summer begin! I celebrated by ordering myself a new "bike". My balance isn't what it used to be, and with arthritis, I have been scared of falling, so haven't ridden for a long time. So I have decided to get an "adult tricycle". http://www.walmart.com/ip/Schwinn-Meridian-Tricycle/5679542
I hope I get along with it well! I've got to get going - need to take the lawn tractor tire in for repair so that hopefully I can mow this afternoon before I swim. After that, it will be off to band practice for the evening!

    Good for you Mary.
When you said you got an adult tricyle, i was hoping it would look like that. Exactly what I had seen before. There's nothing wrong with it. You are going for exercise and to get to one place from another. You don't need to worry about balance.
Plus with that bike I'm sure you can carry quite a bit of stuff that you would not be able to do with a two wheeled bike.

Hiya Mayra, Good to see you out. We've all been there, taken a break and sometimes fall back into previous bad habits. We get up, brush ourselves off, and jump back in again, just like you did.

Well I'm done my first modified 30 days for P90x. This time I want to keep continuing with no breaks and continue to round 2 when necessary.

I took pics and got a new pic up for comparison. I still got a ways to go, but a little shadow can be great to someone's confidence.:laugh

Mary - enjoy your break now that your off. That's a very cute bike, and I'm sure you will enjoy it lots.

Peter- great job on your 30 days on p90x, and can't wait to hear more on how the rest goes.

I just got back from my lunch hour and did 25 minutes of stair climber and bike.

    How are you all doing?

    Have an awesome day!!!
