Oh -- yes new running bras!!
I am thinking about this myself as my ladies haven't kept their youthful appearance after three wonderful babies.. please post the details!! Or send me a message when you can.

Good luck and positive thoughts/prayers headed your way!!

(and ignore the 80% -- imagine the stat is skewed because people get augmentation in lieu of solving personal problems in marriage -- you'll be fine!!)

I haven't had this done but have 2 very close friends that have. They both also went under the muscle. They are both extremely happy and felt the pain was well worth it. They look awesome too!! I think going under the muscle makes them look more real.
Best of luck!!! I'm sure you'll love them....(my one friend who got them done recently can't stop touching them she loves them so much....lol.)

Under the muscle huh -- heard this takes longer to heal...but better long term??
  • I had it done a few years ago and am very glad I did!!! I would so do it all over again!

NICE!! That is what I needed to hear! Was the recovery that bad??

Recovery was a breeze! I went from a J (I didn't know they were that BIG!) cup all the way down to a C/D cup depending on the brand of bra. I had mine done in England though (we were stationed there at the time) and was in the hospital for about 3 days post surgery. Nothing was wrong at all, they just wanted to make sure I was okay. Plus, I didn't drain any fluid and they wanted me to stay to see if I would drain anything. I never did, though, which I was told was awesome. I hear that here in the States they sometimes send women home with the drains still in.:noway:

Anywho, there was no pain whatsoever. That's probably a good thing since, although it was abundantly available, Morphine does NOT agree with me! **Sorry, again, to the nurse whom I upchucked on!**
I had only an uncomfortable feeling of pressure, which felt like I was carrying a ton of bricks on my chest, from all the swelling. That only lasted about a week or so, though, and it was only mildly uncomfortable.

I was put on no-work orders until I had my follow up appointment, which was about a couple weeks later. I didn't need nearly that long, though, but I took every last day of it!

I would've never ever dreamed of having the surgery had it not have been for a sort of bet. My big girls had been with me my whole life and I LOVED them! But now that I've had it done, I wished I'd had it done a whole lot sooner! I can now jump without getting knocked in the face and now when I lie down, they don't each go to opposite sides of my body, but instead stay where they're supposed to. That makes it all worth it!

not that you fall in this category-but i read somewhere that 80% of married women who have augmentation get divorced...

This might point to correlation, not causation, as I'm sure there is a link between the idea of bettering-one's-self and moving on in life - e.g. clearing out bad habits (eating better, exercising), and clearing out bad relationships (dumping the jerk). I don't think that have plastic surgery in and of itself would lead to divorce!

I think it can only lead to more fun for you guys...
    Good luck!!!

Yes, they do! Insurance companies here are CHEAP. It was an inpatient surgery, out of the hospital within 23 hours. Had drain tubes in, had to clean out the drainage. I won't be graphic, but it was eye opening as to what really happens with your body after surgery. The doc took out the drains after 3 or 4 days, if memory serves...

SAME HERE!! Ditto all!! And "now when I lie down, they don't each go to opposite sides of my body, but instead stay where they're supposed to" made me     Exactly!!

I always wonder about through the nipple. Did you lose any sensation?

That is utterly ridiculous! I wonder where they came up with that? Nobody asked me anything! I admit that my husband wasn't too crazy about the idea beforehand. But he sees how happy I am with the "girls" now, and he  's them! IMO, if my marriage ended because of my breast reduction, then my marriage wasn't based on the right thing anyway.

  • I had it done in March and I am so happy, my only regret was that I didn't do it sooner. I went from a AA to a D and just love the new twins. I have saline under the muscle implants and have had many compliments on how natural they look. The majority of the people that I work with had no idea that I was having this done and most people have said "Wow, you look great....how much weight have you lost?". When I tell them that I had lost the weight prior to surgery most are surprised to find out that the girls have been surgically helped along. My recovery was fairly easy, stayed drugged up the first 2 days and then after that tylenol and advil were sufficient. I did have to adjust my workout routine for several months post surgery, couldn't use the weights for a while and had to stay off of the ellipitcal for a while too, but still managed to maintain my pre surgery weight loss. Good luck to you and enjoy them.

OH, DID I EVER, AND IT WAS THE BEST THING I EVER DID FOR MYSELF!!!!

I was always a barely 36-A and could never find a bra that fit right or looked nice under my shirts. I think the lingerie companies and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons were in cahoots with one another, trying to deliberately sabotage any hope for girls like me trying to find nice underthings!! So I thought, it's now or never, and got them done - 9 years ago now. Never regretted it ONCE. I was a model patient. I went to a C.

The nice thing was the bonus I got. Not only did I get my lingerie wish and everything looks NICE on me now, but I also got an hourglass figure. The transformation was breathtaking.

To be even MORE salacious, two weeks after they were installed, I took my little Harley to a biker party in Rhode Island and won first place in a wet tshirt contest -- against a girl BIGGER than me by 2 cup sizes. I guess bikers just like red heads better!! LOL

p.s., under the muscle takes only a little longer in recovery, and yes, the results are more natural, and NO the nipples do not lose sensation - if anything they're MORE sensitive.

I don't have any studies to back this up either...But going from friends I have known...I have seen several families who have been broken up by "the girls." I think it gives women a kind of "self-esteem" or "hottie" feelings they haven't had in the confidence department. Several of them have had good men, some rotten men...So it doesn't seem to be the "guy" who is changing, it is the gals whose "girls" make them view themselves differently enough to want to change more and the guys want things to stay the same. I actually had a guy tell me not to get the girls done or it will break up my marriage. I actually thought it was odd at first but then started seeing what he meant. A guys view too. Interesting.

It is definately something you have to do for you, but not to change your personality. I'd love to see studies on this...errrrr...not "see" but read.
  • I always wonder about through the nipple. Did you lose any sensation?

I did in one breast. I had my surgery done in 2004 and I still haven't re-gained any sensation in the left one yet. Let me rephrase that...I have sensation, it's just not a pleasurable one. It's not painful, either, though, if that makes any sense. I had sensation in the right one from day one. I think it's an even more heightened sensation now! It really makes up for what the lefty's lacking!

Also, the undersides of both of my breasts are completely numb. I can pinch myself silly and not feel a thing. I am totally okay with that, though. I don't care about underneath!

These experiences don't apply to all women though. It depends more on the type of surgery you have and also the individual.

Ok, so maybe "utterly ridiculous" was too strong a phrase. I could see jealousy come into play. I'm just glad my hubby wasn't too jealous to respect my decision to better myself. I ensured him the he...and only he...would be the only man to reap the rewards! I think it's all about making your man feel secure.

I would love to get a reduction. I think that if I get down to 130lbs that will be my gift to me if I can afford it. I dont think I have been able to buy a bra at Victoria's Secret. They dont carry one big enough for me.

Holly - love it girl! Why did you go through the nipples as opposed to the incision under the breast? (just curious...). Are yours below the breast muscle or above? They look great!!!
    :flowerforyou:
  • im pretty sure they are under the muscle
i went through the nip because um???

It's true - no matter what direction you go in - it's all about feeling better about yourself!

Lauryn - I must say you have lovely proportions! You look like a perfectly balanced hourglass figure (July 7th picture on your profile).
