Oy, I'm back! So, for chaperoning a school trip, I sure did drink a ton! After the kids went to bed, we'd hit the hotel bar for a "meeting" and then 3 out of the 5 nights, we went to a bar. Two night, an Irish pub and the last night, we went to a sports bar that had karaoke and we didn't get in until after 3. It was fun though!!

Since I've been back, I've not had a ton but I definitely need to start tracking again--summer is my downfall.

Sunday=1/2 grapefruit vodka and fresca. I only had 1/2 because I knocked it over.
  • Monday is supposed to be my day off booze, but we hardly ever manage this! I have just burned 350 cals 'just in case' I cave later and want a drink.

I quite like that alcohol has so many calories, as it motivates me to work out

    Happy Monday lushes!

My Friday went well, just a couple glasses of wine at home. But Saturday....yikes! We went to a brewery tour thing, then to lunch, then had friends come over. There was definitely A LOT of beer and someone brought over a Four Locos for every one to try (those things are REALLY DISGUSTING). Not only did I binge and get pretty slushie....but I smoked cigarettes. Boo on me.

At least I stayed beer-free yesterday and this starts another week. Going to a show tonight but hoping to stay booze-free!

    Have a good week everyone!!

It depends on which flavor four Loko really. Since the change to the ingredients the effect is just not the same. I really liked the lemonade ones. The watermelon one was probably the grossest thing I have ever tasted though. :ohwell:

What kinda grapefruit vodka? We use the Finlandia brand with Fresca which is a bit cheaper than the others we found. Always down to try a different one if you have a suggestion. :smokin:

I got the Finlandia one...I had an Absolut Ruby Red and pink grapefruit juice in San Diego and it was yummy, but I couldn't beat the price!

I think I'm failing as a lush :frown: No alcohol since my 2 glasses of wine on Friday and haven't even bothered to stock up on any wine either. If I carry on like this how dare I call myself a lush? I'll have to start my own lonely thread for failed lushes

way to go Yvonne. You are always welcome here to cheer us on and inspire those of us who would like to have a little less lushiness in our makeup.

I lost count last night. And someone really needs to keep me the heck away from a computer after I've been drinking. I'm fairly certain I managed to embarrass myself and probably pissed a few people off too. :frown:
0 today and the rest of the week, hopefully.

I did this last week after a pitcher of margaritas, couple of shots, and beer. We met a new couple that I loved hanging out with but I am pretty sure I embarrassed myself enough that we won't be seeing them much anymore. Ugh, it happens. I haven't been that drunk in AGES!

Just keep drinking  Also if you have NOTHING in the house but maybe some healthy muesli bars it kind of puts you off munching on them as a snack.

It's also the hangover day I find hard. :explode:

So its Philly beer week and we might not get a chance to get out and try anything so we loaded up on some delicious (never had) craft beers over the weekend.....spent a ridiculous amount of money too!!!! So I decided to forego my usual wine and split a beer a night with my husband. Last night was Dogfish Head Theobroma (its a chocolate beer with chiles and trees spices, not at all what you'd expect from a chocolate beer, it had a golden color and had quite a citrus smell....very very good...9%abv)....we split the 22oz and I have no idea how many calories were in it, but I saved myself 300 to be on the safe side.
Tonight is Dogfish Black and Blue 22oz...splittng it of course, so 11oz is 266 calories, not too bad!!!! Its a Fruit beer, which I like every once and a while but it IS dogfish head so its gotta be pretty decent!!!! Oh and its 10% abv :)
    Enjoy your day!!!
  • The only way to cure a hangover is to eat your way out of it, I find.

I was sooooo hungover sunday I ate so much food.....wawa chicken salad shorti with 1/2 bag of kettle chips, chicken lo mein/friend rice/general's taos chicken/egg roll, reese's milk shake and 1/2 bag of pretzels....it was seriously ridiculous, I was about 1500over calories for the day...but it sure helped my hangover

Yep, this is me exactly! I do great during the week, then the weekend rolls in and it's "treat" time in my mind. I start drinking a mojito, then two, then maybe another and then I start eating. Sucks. It does feel, as you said, like a weekly sabotage game. I know I should ditch the alcohol, but I don't want to! (to be said in a whiny little kid voice!). I'm glad this group is here!!

Ugh. I didn't do well at all last night resisting beers at the Weezer show. Oh well. Honestly, it was a blast and totally worth it (until today when I had to come to work!).

So....Monday: 5? 6? beers? Mostly lights at least. And I did log them all (I think). And then Whataburger on the way home. Whoops!

The rest of this week --- hopefully zero! And I hope to make it through the weekend without much drinking as well!

I am definitely a hangover eater too -- I am sure I will want to munch on food all day today. Luckily we don't have snacks at my office right now....

    Monday=0 drinks

I think I was pretty drunk on Sunday because I was just writing a review for the dinner we had and I know we ordered dessert but I cannot remember what it was! And that was after 2 beers and 2 glasses of wine!

This made me laugh!! I have the same problem only it's texting. Things I thought were funny on the drunk night are usually (the next morning) either not as funny or just TMI to share with your friends! :blushing:

And the munchie thing... I just have to make sure I have about 100 calories to stick something in my mouth after drinking or I'll get up in the middle of the night and binge... BIG TIME binging, too!! The other night I guess I got up and made like a taco salad with my left over chili and the vegan queso I had. Don't remember making it OR eating it! :noway:

Home! And while it was nice to see the pups and be in our home, I do miss being out on the ocean, I just love it.

Cruise was fabulous. Very lushy but always had my liter and a half of water before bed each night and no hangovers at all for the duration of the cruise =]

Having a detox from the internet and such also opened my eyes. I'm not going to.count calories anymore. I'm going to do what I did on the cruise and listen to my body. Eat when I'm hungry and not eat when I'm not. Always keeping healthy decisions and portion in mind. I even had pizza a couple times on the cruise and still felt slim because the decisions I made after were healthy. No more stuffing my face to "get calories" because the clock or some "science" says its best. How my clothes fit will judge how I'm doing and I certainly will still enjoy my booze.

Starting back well, no drinks yesterday and wont have any until Friday =] hope everyone has been well!

Good for you! I think it can be hard to keep sight of that! For me, logging helps me to make healthful decisions because I think about everything I eat. HOWEVER, I totally eat sometimes to "get cals" or because I have some left. Good point!

I think it is going to be a lushy week my lushes

    Monday - 0
Tuesday - ? Snazzy event at a country club = wine necessary?
Wednesday - 0? Girls night with $5 long island pitchers though...
Thursday - ?? Afternoon baseball game
Friday - ?? art museum happy hour and then out to a bar, I'm sure

    Eeeeeks. Better save some cals!

Glad the cruise was great and you had a wonderful time. Can't wait for our next one.

Kim and Faith, remember - drinking will dehydrate you which will mean a few less ounces on that scale. Maybe you both should have a few tonight. :drinker:
