Hello everyone my name is Tanya. I am 30 years old and have been on MFP for about 10.5 months. So far on my weight loss journey I have lost about 47 pounds. But my ultimate goal is to lose 20 more. I must admit that the journey has been tough at times with regards to my eating choices and working out. As far as working out I HATE it. I know it is good for me, but I cant get past that pain (not an injury pain, but the pain that comes when your working a muscle group that you haven't before). I look forward to working with you all on this journey.

Hello everyone my name is Linda i'm 44 years old and will be 45 in November. I joined MFP in March. I quit smoking in February and didn't want to gain anymore weight. I'm the biggest I have ever been. I have a 2 1/2 year old grand daughter i watch her when her mom and dad work and i wanted to be able to keep up with her and its hard when your packing around to much bagage around. My weight has always been up and down all my life. When I was younger i would just quit eating till i lost the weight then gradually start eating again then the weight would pack back on. I want to lost the weight the right way this time. Its been a struggle for me to lose it but i've lost a total of 20 lbs and i feel better than i ever have. I"m looking forward to getting to know everyone on the challenge. Good luck to everyone and i hope we all meet our goals. We just have to remember who were doing this for.

Hi everyone! My most recent history is that I was previously a dance instructor and in great shape, but then started grad school a year and a half ago, stopped dancing, and put on almost 25 pounds. I'm proud of myself for persevering through school, and now that I'm almost done with my degree it's time to persevere and lose those pounds! I have about 18 to go, and I'm hoping to reach my goal weight by October. In the meantime, I hope to be thankful and not so perfectionistic about the body that I have, while still working to live a healthier lifestyle that will bring me back to my comfortable weight. Looking forward to the support and motivation of this challenge group! Feel free to "friend" me. Thanks!

Hi everyone! I'm excited to be part of this challenge! Here is my introduction:

    Name: Michelle

    Age: 27

How long with MFP: Since late December 2010

And whatever you would like to share about yourself and/or your journey so far: I was diagnosed with PCOS and Insulin Resistance in May 2009 after gaining 49 lbs. as a result of the syndrome. I used to be a professional dancer and, at my thinnest, weighed 103 lbs (which I now admit was unhealthy for me). At my heaviest, I weighed 186 lbs. and was MISERABLE. I couldn't even walk a block without my shins and calves hurting. I especially couldn't walk a flight of stairs without chest paints and heavy breathing and just feeling miserable. I'm proud to say that as of today, I weigh 167 lbs. and have walked an 8K in 70 minutes. I couldn't have done that before and I am feeling great!! Now, my goal is to get back to the weight where I felt and looked the best: 130-135lbs. If I can do this by May 26, 2012 (my WEDDING DAY!), I would be forever happy.

Good luck to all of you--we're in this together!

How long with MFP: 1 year and 5 months (Feb '10)

About me: I've lost about 17.5 lbs since joining MFP. I've always been slow to lose weight. I love commenting and making suggestions that might help other people, and try to get to as many people as possible. I've been losing weight since I was 15, and weighed 245 lbs. I only started really working out since February '11. Now I need to remember to eat right again as well. I love the 30 Day Shred. I'm going back to school in September to become a teacher, and I love being in school. I would love to teach abroad. I also do a little writing on the side. I would not trade bodies with anyone - I love my curves, and now that they are slightly more defined, I love them even more!

:drinker: WE ARE GOING TO ROCK THIS CHALLENGE!!!

Hello everyone! I am still trying to catch up in reading everyone's intros...a lot of wonderful and inspiring stories here! Very excited to get started with you all :)

But I need a HUGE favor from everyone. I am primarily on my phone logging in and between here, my FB fitness page, and BeachBody site I am a carpal tunnel case waiting to happen lol... But it is a lot easier when messages come straight to my phone and they don't on MFP. So if you could please go to www.beachbodycoach.com/brockinbody and sign up for an account (it is completely free) and right hand to God I'm not trying to sell you anything at all...I just need to make my life easier since we have such a large group...Once you put in your information and it is really just your name and email address that I need, whenever you need to send me a message about missing a weigh-in, a suggestion for a mini challenge, or just a regular fitness and exercise question, you can send me an email through that site and it will come straight to my phone and I can respond straight from my phone.

My last challenge (Snowflakes to Sunshine) ladies can vouch that I put a lot into these challenges and they come from a good place in my heart to help people...but I have over 100 people in this challenge and another 350 people on my FB fitness page and its a LOT lol. But I am happy to do it! So if you guys can do that for me, that will be great...this will also allow me to send out a mass message to everyone (since we don't have that option on MFP) should I need to or for extra encouragement.

Everything will still be posted to the threads of course, but it is easier for me to answer direct questions the other way :).

Thanks again and keep the intros coming! :)

I already had an account from awhile ago I think I made you a buddy but how can I switch it so its says your my coach? I dont really log on to that site often. Thanks

I started at 186 lbs on 1/1/2011... highest weight of my life. I'm only 5'3" so I was OBESE! I've lost 34 lbs so far, have 27 to go to my goal of 125 lbs, what I weighed when I got married ten years ago. My husband's been losing with me, he's already lost over 50 lbs, we're eating heatlhy, quit drinking alcohol, and he's exercising more than me, so my goal with this challenge is to get my body moving so I can remove those last 27 lbs!

    Hey gurls Hey!

My name is Daisy I'll be 28 the end of this month whoohoo. I started MFP Aug of last year when I became totally fed up with being BIG. Like most I was always on the heavy side my whole life but I was always confident about myself. At my hottest lol I met and fell in love with my Mr I became pregnant with my first son Ethan and it was a wrap from there. I gained about 30 lbs with him and lost most of it but gained it all back n then some during my maternity leave. 13 months later our miracle baby Brayden arrived were I gained another 25 lbs leaving me a hot mess lol. So in Aug 2010 weighing 195 I knew I was beyond miserable with my body and health. I wanted the outside of me to shine as brightly as God shined in the inside of me. (plus I was tired od looking like a "mom" at 26). I lost 5 lbs and came to the realization that I wanted one more baby and should knock it out before losing tons of weight to only get preggers plus I wanted my kids to all be close in age. I know IM NUTS.

Flash forward lol. My beautiful baby girl London Grace is a month old I've closed up shop and I'm ready for business. I was very healthy during this pregnancy and have lost ALL THE BABY WEIGHT. I'm very serious n committed being BIG isn't an option.

    Starting weight: 221

    Cw:194.5

    GW:155-160 ( I was 163 at my hottest lol)

So add me as a friend if you need someone to laugh the whole way thru with you. No negative Nancys please. Love my life living it right all thru Christ

    Hi Ladies,

My name is Connie and I am 42 years old. I have 7 children (3 are adopted), 4 grandbabies, and one on the way. I know....I'm way too young for all that!! LOL. I also work full time and I am the Children's Pastor at my church where my hubby is the Senior Pastor. Needless to say, we stay extremely busy. My heaviest was 239 lbs. I'm down to around 175 and have been near this for almost 2 years. I lost 56 lbs. within about 5 months by eating healthier and a rigid exercise schedule. Then I had knee surgery that threw a major wrench in my schedule. The past year and a half has been a whirlwind of yo-yoing back and forth between 180 and 165. I can't seem to stay on track for a long time.
My family is very supportive of my efforts and help out whenever they can, but they have a hard time staying motivated too, especially when I'm flaky. I hired a trainer a few months ago, but was only training with her twice a week. It was going okay till 2 weeks ago...she broke her back and is "out of commission" for about 6 months. So.......I'm ready to start the process from scratch and need some accountability partners to seriously hold me to it. Looking forward to walking this journey with all of you.

Yesterday was horrible. My heart rate skyrocketed during my grad class in the AM, I somehow managed to survive class until 12:30. My heart-rate slowed down, but my breathing was kind of abnormal. I called my team of doctors who told me to either come right up to the hospital or they would send an ambulance. So, I drove up to the hospital. They ran all sorts of tests (as usual), and nothing conclusive. Meanwhile, this has happened several times since they switched a lot of my medications, so I think it is related. I now have appointments to see a cardiologist and a pulmonary specialist next week... joy, as if my medical bills weren't high enough already. Then, on my way home, I got a call that my best friend's dad had a heart attack and is hospitalized. Now, my best friend passed away about three years ago, but his parents were always really important in my life, especially his father. My father and I have a very, very awful relationship, but my friend's father was also my pseudo-father. They told me not to come up, especially since I was having issues. But, of course, this set off the emotional eating. I did well all day, and would have had about 600 calories left for dinner. Dinner, I ate too much and ended up around -120. But then I binged. Stupid emotional eating that I still can't control. Ate another 1,000 or so calories putting me at net 2500 for the day! YIKES! Needless to say, I often weigh-in on Fridays and I was back up at 189.6, which is a 1lb gain, from all the extra calories and the sodium and yadayadayada. *Sigh* But, today is a new day, right? I'll call up the family in a bit and see how he is doing. Then I'll attempt to make it through the day without any medical mysteries. I'm home all day though - no work or school, so controlling my eating will be hard.
Well, sorry for my rant. :ohwell: But, otherwise I would have popped.

Hope you all have a great day! :flowerforyou:

Sorry you are going through so much. I can relate to the emotional binges though. Hang in there! Maybe soon we will find something else to help with the emotional stress instead of eating. I hope you get to feeling better and I hope your friend's father gets better soon as well.

I am so sorry for being so late with introducing myself..sorry.

Thanks Krystal for anohter wonderful 3 month challenge!!! You're the best!!!!

I am dedicated this time to get this weight off.

Hi! My name is Laila and I have been on MFP for about 2 years, but battling my weight my whole life. I didn’t become dedicated to losing weight until January 2010. My heaviest weight was 245…I have managed to lose 55 pounds and reach my new time low of 190 and I screwed it all up because I let other things in my life take over what is so meaningful to me (beside my family and life)…is my health. I am currently 206 and I am hoping to reach my ultimate goal of 155ish…but I am hoping to lose 30+ pounds with this challenge. I want to be in the 170 range when I am done this challenge. I will work my *kitten* off because I want to look my best when my birthday and brother’s wedding (both in October).

A little more about me, I am married to a wonderful man and I am a proud mother of 3 beautiful children (15, 14, and 5). I’m 33 years old and a stay at home mother until my younger son goes to Kindergarten (full time [crossing my fingers] or part time) and that’s when I want to finish my degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education (I’m 2 semesters shy of getting my Bachelors degree). I will finish sooner (hopefully) than later.

So now that I given a glimpse of my life…I am hoping this is my year to make things possible in my life..and what matter to me: my health, well being, keeping my family safe, and finishing my degree.

I am hoping to get to know each and every one of you and to support and motivate each other through this journey.

My name is Susan. I'm 31 and I'm a SAHM with two little ones (4 1/2 and 2 1/2) I've been on MFP a year. I've lost 30 lbs, but could've had more if I just stuck with it. These last few months have been a challenge. My youngest son was diagnosed with DMD and I was diagnosed with RA. I want to be healthy not only for me but for my family. We just moved to VA and probably will be moving again in a few months (thanks to the Marine Corps). I know I can succeed with the help of MFP friends. I have about 30 to 40 lbs to lose and I want them gone by October. I love having the inspiration from other to push me and I'm excited about this challenge and can't wait to see how awsome we all do. Feel free to add me!! Thanks for putting on this challenge!! Good luck to you all!!

How long with MFP: Since Jan 2011

About your journey: I have not battled with weight my whole life (I was actually underweight at graduation - 100lbs at 5'6) and after college I weighed approx 110lbs. I never worried about what I ate (junk food and sweets), I just expected it to burn off due to my high metabolism. But boy was I wrong! I started an office job and sitting all day, eating crap and never ever exercising finally caught up with me and I ended up gaining 50lbs in 5 years. So I am now trying to get down to 125lbs (I got a lot of compliments at this size) and am finding that it is way harder to take it off than it was putting it on. I was part of Krystle's last challenge S2S, but only managed to lose 7lbs. So I have committed to myself to work out starting Monday (just getting over a cold right now) everyday with Jillian Michaels (first 30DS, then 6 Week 6 Pack and then Shred it with Weights) until the end of this challenge. I hope to lose 15lbs by the time this challenge is over.

Good luck to everyone!! And I look forward to getting to know you all better over the course of this challenge!! :flowerforyou:

And whatever you would like to share about yourself and/or your journey so far.

Well, I was with KrystleB on the last challenge and she was definitely a great leader, I jut was not motivated to stick with it. I plateaued on the last challenge and just gave up because I never saw the scale move again. I am still 188 pounds and I wanted to be down to at least 170 by my birthday (it already passed). Now I am back for another challenge, motivated and ready to bust through this plateau.

Other info: Mother of 2 sons ages 4&7, wife of 8 1/2 years and a case manager for pregnant homeless women. I am also back in school for my doctorate (Ed.S / Ed.D).

    Name: Lillian

Age: 30 in August (Really not looking forward to that birthday

Occupation: Teacher without a classroom(aka substitute)

I have been reading bios and we all have our own twist on what seems to be the same general story. For me, though I have always been a "bigger" girl the worst of my weight gain happened after losing my mother a few years ago. She became Ill and passed away very unexpectedly...she was only 57 years old. In that year I gained over 100lbs. At my highest that I ever looked at my weight (I've never liked getting on a scale) I weighed over 345lbs. I got scared straight and lost about 40 lbs....and then living life fluctuated but never got under 300 to my knowledge.

Cut to this past fall. I climbed a mountain with my best friend and her family. Her 5 year old kicked my *kitten*. It was like she was running up the MTN and I was weezing and in pain. It was horrible and embarassing. I forced myself up that climb and made it to the top...but that day I decided that that would never happen to me again.

My best friend found MFP before I did and brought me along for the ride. I joined in February of 2011 and I have lost 30lbs so far. I am offically lighter than I have been in over 5 years.

I love the high of going down pant sizes....and I hate to admit I've even started to enjoy working out. I have more energy in my day and in my life in general. It's nice to feel in control.

I still love food WAY too much...but I feel armed to be smarter about it.

GOOD LUCK TO US ALL! :)

Hi, I'm Arielle, and I'm 28. I've been logging into mfp since September 2010.
I was skinny in high school, then through a combination of birth control, marriage, babies, and oh yeah, PIGGING OUT, I would gain and lose, gain and lose. In September I clocked my starting weight at 165 and was down to 143 by Thanksgiving, and 135 by the middle of January. I was intense! Was, is the operative word!
As is often the case, weight lost fast comes back fast too. I went on a couple of wonderful vacations, had family in town, and before I knew it, by the end of April was back at 150. Apparently that wasn't enough motivation though! I've only been "back on the wagon" for a few weeks now, and am holding pretty solid at 145. I would like to lose 10 more pounds slowly and consistently, and actually Keep them off!
    Looking forward to the challenges!
