Got this idea from a friend's post. What are some things you remember from the world of the 1980's? Clothes you wore, hairstyles, things you just HAD TO HAVE! Here are some of mine:

1 - slap bracelets
2 - tear jerker gum (used to sell it at school - $.50 per piece)
3 - Pump high tops
4 - Bon Jovi - Slippery When Wet album (still a kick *kitten* album)

I remember high bangs... my older sisters would tease their bangs until they were 6 inches off their head... then they'd spray them with their AquaNet hairspray until they could withstand hurricane force winds.

lol...I remember my sister doing that too!!! She's 6 years older than me, so I depended on her to teach me all the "cool stuff"...hell I was in elementary school through the 80s.

I was only born in 80 so I don't remember that much. .... oh, how about girls tight-rolling their jeans and acid-washed jeans.

When I was about 4 or 5 years old, my family was at Myrtle Beach, SC and he was there. A lifeguard paid me $5 and a pack of gum to walk up to him and get his autograph because she was to chicken to do it. I had no idea who he was or what I was doing so I did. I remember him shaking my hand too. My first celeb story. lol

I graduated from high school in 1983 and remember all of these things. But, let's not forget the 80's hair - CURLY PERMS! I totally rocked acid washed jeans, and my husband (then boyfriend) rocked the parachute pants. Also, don't forget the hightop Reebok's with velcro straps!

Hypercolor clothes by Genera. I was one of the first to have a hypercolor shirt. Nothing like going to a party and have random people put their hands on you all night.

I was pretty young in the 80s - so my main memories were Care Bears, Heman and Sheera Princess of Power, The Smurfs, The skirts with all those layers and ruffles (which have strangely made a come back), poofy sleeved wedding dresses, big hair, Prince, and Madonna!

Had these and loved them, but my GF at the time hated them. She said it was too much work to get them off.

3 buckles, 4 zippers, 2 buttons... She said it was like a combonation lock
