I love this series. :) Unfortunately though, I had a friend wreck it for me by blurting out happenings I hadn't read about yet. Still pissed about that.
I was thinking of reading them again before the series comes back to HBO. Which is very soon. lol
  • I really enjoyed the Crank series by Ellen Hopkins...I read each book in one day...lol it goes Crank, Glass, Fallout

Im reading "Not my daughter" by Barbara Delinsky

    Summary

When Susan Tate's 17-year-old daughter, Lily, announces she is pregnant, Susan is stunned. A single mother, she has struggled to do everything right. She sees the pregnancy as an unimaginable tragedy both for Lily and herself.

Then comes word of two more pregnancies among high school seniors who happen to be Lily's best friends - and the town turns to talk of a pact. But criticism of the girls quickly becomes criticism of their mothers, especially of Susan, who holds a visible position in town. As principal of the high school, she is considered a role model of hard work and core values. Now her detractors accuse her of being a lax mother, perhaps not worthy of the job of shepherding impressionable students. Susan is still struggling with the personal implications of her daughter's pregnancy, when she hears calls for her resignation.

But what of her close friendship with the two other moms? Are they any less at fault than she is? The friendships suffer - but shouldn't loyalty trump community pressure? And what of a fourth friend, who has power enough to minimize the fallout but whose own daughter has a murky tie to the pact?

Set in a small Maine town that cherishes responsibility, Not My Daughter raises many issues, not the least of which is the age-old question: What does it take to be a good mother?

    **** I love drama***

Depends on what you like :-)

For a historical detective one, there's 'Suspicions of mr Whicher: or the murder at Road Hill House' by Kate Summerscale. Interesting account of a Victorian murder-mystery & the early detectives.

I read more or less anything... :-)
I am going to have to check out the hystorical detective books you mentioned.

Hope you enjoy it - it was very interesting from a social perspective as well as how the early detectives worked :)

I'm just starting a new book called "The SIngle Mother's Guide to Raising Remarkable Boys." Pretty clear why I'm reading it :) It's not bad so far, execept the stats are outdated. Obama was listed as one of the remarkable men from single mother homes, but as a senator. We'll see if there is any useful advice in here .

Yay! I am reading A Lesson in Secrets #8 of the Maisie Dobbs Series by Jacqueline Winspear now. I love books but my brother the early adopter got me and my sister nooks for our birthdays. Well he organized our families to get them anyway, since we all share books with each other. So this is my first eBook. Yes start with the 1st of the series. Maisie Bobbs. Mysteries set in post WWI England. But not written then. Summer has begun.

I'm currently reading Tess Gerritsen's "Harvest" (medical drama) and it's pretty good so far. I've also enjoyed her Rizolli & Isles series and the sci-fi/medical book called "Gravity".

I'm also listening to (long commute, hate listening to the radio anymore) "The Night Season" by Chelsea Cain. It's technically part of a series but definitely deviates from the first three novels, still a really good story. Her first three were "Evil at Heart", "Sweetheart" and "Heart Sick"- very twisted but very good books.

Thinking about listening to "Breaking Dawn" by Stephanie Meyer next - have already read the 1st 3 books.
