Hello Ladies!
So I started a thread to officially start the October 30 Day Shred. So I think it would be great to share our personal goals and update on how many out of 30 days we have done...
My personal goal is to do ALL 30 days.
Lose 10 lbs in October.
I usually do my Shred at night so for now I'm 0/30 workouts.

i completly fell off the wagon last time but I am going to try and do it 3x per week (it became too much with the other classes / workouts I like to do) so i figure 3 nights will be a good start! I am going to spin class tonight so i will start thursday! :bigsmile:0

I want in too! I will try 3 times a week as well and see how that goes. Right now I am in moving into a new house so little time! haha0

I just got mine in the mail today and Im in. I will be doing it 3 times a week and then Im doing turbo jam 4 times a week. LETS DO THIS!!!0

Ok I haven't done a challenge on this yet so here is my first go at it! I would like to lose 10lbs in October and finally break into the 130's! I have been a pretty avid runner since deciding to commit to weight loss but found out this week I have a stress fracture in my left shin :sad: So my goals are two fold:
I want to swim 4 times a week and do low impact toning excersizes 3 times a week for the first half of October and in the second half go back to weight training 3 times a week. Depending on how that feels, I am going to go back to Spinning 2 a week in the second half as well. Tonight-Low impact toning
So do we post our weights and everyday and whether or not we did the excersize? Do we post daily calorie intact? Help the newbie :drinker:0 -

I usually only weigh myself weekly...On Tuesdays. So I think I'll stick to that...but I'll be checking in daily to tally up my workouts and comment on food intake.0

OMG!! I just did the workout 1 and OMG do I really need to say anymore than that. That was my first workout with her and OMG. This is the time I wish I had a HRM because I want to know how many calories I just burned. OMG!! I just can't stop saying that. I think I deserve a flower. :flowerforyou: Now i feel a little bit better. OMG. But I will be doing that in a couple of day. Like Jillian said you don't get the hot body for free.0

OH and you are going to be SUPER sore...but just push through the first couple of mins tomorrow and you will be able to finish it!!!
What was the hardest for you? The pushups get me BIG TIME!!
OH and BTW I wear my HRM and I last time I burned 395 durning level 1. I'm 5'8 and 190lbs...0 -
yea the push ups did it for me for sure. I think i need to get smaller weights also. My arms are really sore. After doing the workout i had a seizure so I got a couple told you so's from friends. So the next time maybe just take it a little bit slower. LOL I like to push myself. I really want to loose this weight. Im on my third day of being sick and this is the first time (after the workout) that I have felt hungry. So I think as soon as the kids get home we are going to grab something to eat. I love this website.0

okay well i since i dont have the dvd yet just did a cycling class at the gym. That kicked my butt so i can imagine what the shred will do to me lol0

It's true....the first time I did the workout - I could barely walk the next day. But it gets better as your body adjusts. I can't wait to go home and start my workout0

okay so...1 day down and 29 to go!!! I started the sept shred challenge and then only did it occasionally so i thought jumping back in would be easy but...:noway:
I am going to try to shred as many days a week as I can and post weight updates weekly (wednesdays) to keep myself on track and accountable!
oct 1: 165 lbs:sad:
goal for oct 31: 155 lbs:happy:
for those of you who dont have the dvd yet and want to get started...if you have comcast on demand you can get level one and two for free.

Leslie, I totally feel you on the confident and healthy tip. Seriously. Losing weight is of course AWESOME..but more than anything I just want to feel confident again.

Cass! If you ever get the chance to take the cycling class take it!! You work up quite a sweat and with the music and everyone else it does make it fun:happy:0

Day 1 done! Phew, am I exhausted....but in a good way. I can't believe that I am doing push-ups. I never could do one before - not even the easy on your knee ones.

Okay I want to do it a minimum of 3X per week but aiming for 5X......I would like to lose 8 lbs this month but aiming for 10 lbs.......

Hi everybody. I kinda skipped out on the September challenge as well (I was trying to do it on top of all my regular workouts, and it was just too much), but I've recommitted to October. I am also doing the pushup challenge (see Hundred Pushups October post in Motivation & Support), so I will NOT be doing pushups during Shred - I have been holding the plank position instead. Which is still plenty tough for me!
So, I dragged myself out of bed this morning and did level 1. I had a kickboxing class tonight that kicked my butt (no pun intended!) so we will see if I can move tomorrow morning for day 2.
My goal for October is Shred 4x/week, and lose 4 pounds. :flowerforyou:0 -
ALright I did the shred yesterday and now my body is so sore i can barly walk. I need help. How do I get unsore. :laugh: Im going to take a day off and not do shred tonight but OMG. I didn't think I was going to be this sore. Hey I didn't know I had that many muscules in my body. :laugh:0

I would recommend a warm bath with epsom salts to help relax the muscles.....but for your next workout try doing a 15 min or more stretching session after the workout to help with the soreness and then before going to bed take another epsom salt bath......the more you workout the less this soreness will be a problem....the trick is not to let it stop you from working out, in order to get past it you have to work through it.....so don't give up, it will get better- I promise ......0
