Here are 2 types of Protien bars that I have made.... I subistute Muscle Milk for the Skim milk for extra protein... I also add some mini chocolate chips for the kids...like a half cup, to give then a little sweetness... If you dont want to use the Pam spray just line the bottom with waxed or parchment paper
Bulking Bar:
Combine in large mixing bowl:
3 Cups Oatmeal
1/2 Cup Natural Peanut butter
1 cup Skim Milk
4 Scoops Protein Powder
dash of cinnamon
Mix until a sticky batter is formed (may take a few minutes)
use a large spoon to spread out the mix into the bottom of a Pam-sprayed glass or metal cooking tray (spread until even)
top with 4-8 packets splenda
put in the fridge overnight and cut into 8 equal bars that yield:
11g fat (good monounsaturated fats)
26g carbs
21g protein
285 calories
Cutting Bar: (Note: will not be super firm like store bought, processed protein bars, it will be a bit more moist, but you can still pick it up with your hands)
Combine in Large Mixing Bowl
8 Scoops Whey (Vanilla is very good)
3 Cups Oats
1 Package Sugar Free Fat Free Pudding (Any flavor is good)
2 Cups Skim Milk
Mix until a sticky batter is formed (may take a few minutes)
Use a large spoon to spread out the mix into the bottom of a Pam-sprayed glass or metal cooking tray (spread until even)
put in the fridge overnight and cut into 8 equal bars that yield:
3g fat
28g carbs
29g protein

These sound great! Calorically, a little high for me as an everyday bar, I try to keep mine under 200cal (usually for breakfast), but as a large meal replacement like lunch/dinner, your recipes would work great!!!0 -

Nice to see yours turned out solid like actual bars not like globs due to other people's recopies here on MFP – can you tell I'm a little bitter, LOL, it’s all good I got over it.
Perhaps I'll give it another go but I'm pretty sure I had an almost identical recipe. Someone had said milk binds better but you used water like I did, hmmm. Oh we'll see0 -

Lol! Maybe type of PB used makes a difference? Natural pb's texture is so different from other kinds! I made sure to mix everything thoroughly, b/c I also initially worried that they would crumble, but the binded really well!! Best of luck, if you give it another try!0 -
