911! I have eaten all my meals and I have 1,004 calories left to eat today!!! It's 6:52 PM!!!! What am I gonna do?!?! Not only that, because I am kinda....blah....mood wise....I don't WANT to eat!!!

I can see scrunching in a forced snack....but I don't even have anything close that could hit that amount of calories!!!!
Ideas, suggestions, I know it's not normal but could I use a few of these calories as carry overs to tomorrow?

Help!!!

    Pizza!!

I have been getting my bf to make an 8-inch pizza for me while he's at work. He knows exactly what goes into it-- 5 oz of dough, 1/8 cup sauce, and whatever toppings I want. I get 2 oz of mozzarella and 10 pepperonies and all the veggies. It's SO good and about 700 calories, which I usually eat after a longer run. Pizza has been stigmatized, but if you're making it yourself, it's just a complex carbohydrate with a protein and veggies.

I LIVE for pizza! It's the best stuff on earth!

I am thinking my big issue is that I just don't WANT to eat.
I mean I have been wracking my brain for and idea on what to shove down but I am just not in the mood.
I have to at least get over 1200 today (which I may use the PB and toast to hit). I will still be really short for the day, but I know tomorrow I am making that German Apple Cake recipe I posted. So a few carry over wouldn't hurt.

I saw that recipe! Makes me miss my stepmom's cooking, she moved from Germany when she was 22 so she makes all the good stuff!

I usually will drink my calories on the days I'm not hungry...I loooooove chocolate milk. I do 2% or fat free and no sugar added Nesquick.

You don't really HAVE to use all of your calories every day. If you go a little over later in the week, it will kind of balance out without you having to feel guilty about it.

    Cheers,
    John

Oh no! I am sorry that you miss her. It looked soooo yummy. I can't wait to try it. I'll let you know if it's any good.

I hadn't thought of chocolate milk. I only have skim milk....and I don't usually drink milk....but dang....I would gag it down if it will up my count today.

GJ: It's not that I want to eat them all tonight (cause that's improbable at this point). I do need to at least get to the minimum that the site recommends. I am putting my faith in the sites theory and those who have had such great success. However, you are correct, if I am under a bit today it will ease any guilt I may have later in the week. Thank you.

I think I threw up a little in my mouth on that suggestion.
The sad thing, I actually looked up foods at Dairy Queen to see what I'd have to eat to get close.....yeah....didn't even appeal to me. Is that a good sign?

Ugh.....last weekend I had a treat day. I had planned to down an entire Ben n Jerry's Cookie Cookie Sundae....I ate one scoop of the ice cream and 1/2 a cookie (out of two scoops and two cookies lol) and felt ill.
I also ate 8 little sweet/sour chicken pieces, and an egg roll and felt very ill.
Then I had a BK cheeseburger....and felt like I didn't want to be conscious anymore.

I no longer even like to think of burgers...I get the oniony aftertaste in my mouth and...ewwww

My tastes have changed a lot since starting to pay more attention to my foods.
Things are so salty or sugary now.
A lot of stuff that I used to eat all the time just....don't do it for me anymore.
Who would of thought that I would prefer Garlic Hummus and crackers/chips to nasty nachos.

Soooo....you haven't yet hit 1200 calories for the day and you still have 1004 left over after ALL your meals?? That means you've only eaten 200 calories all day long?!

Please tell me that's not true and you just spent a couple hours doing spinning or something strenuous to get all those extra calories...

    I've eaten 987.
Normally I have 1488 calories to eat.
I worked out, so that's an extra 503.

I didn't snack as much today as I normally do and the meals were unusually light.
That's why there is such a huge leftover sum.

    Whew....
    Thanks to the joyous season....
I had some apple cider, a 100% homemade whole wheat roll, and 2 TBS of peanut butter (remind me to buy the reduced fat version, asap). 1687 cals in....still a few hundred short but those will help me out tomorrow....

Thanks for the suggestions and helping me get my mind off the blahs for a bit.
    You guys are the best!

Reduced fat PB? What do they replace the peanuts with??

Most reduced fat versions are really high on the sugar. It's better to just use less of the real stuff. One tbsp of peanut butter is PLENTY for a sandwich, especially if you toast the bread; it will 'melt' and spread easily.

I wish you guys would stop talking about peanut butter (ok, not really). That stuff is so icky to me, especially straight from the jar. YUCK! My hubby eats it like it's the only thing to eat. I buy his own jar so he can spoon it right from the jar and he will do just that. :noway: I've sat and watched him spoon it out and eat a quarter of the jar and calling it dinner! Ewe. I guess I'll never understand the fascination with peanut butter. Peanut butter is on my yucky foods list along with lima beans, homony, and okra (sp?). Oh well, more for you guys right?

Edit: of course my hubby is not on this journey with me (at all) and doesn't care about eating healthy, so he goes waaay overboard on the whole peanut butter thing.

OMG I thought the same thing yesterday!

I know it is prolly too late, but I remember with WW you could save points. Eat a few over the next few days. I drink juices when I need more calories. Man 8oz of fresh orange juice is a LOT of cals.

Yes - I agree - you could do a "zig zag" day - they say it's the best way to blast a sluggish metabolism- just eat what you feel comfortable getting in, and forget the rest for today.

Peanut butter is healthy though!!! (I know you hate it - but is a good food for hubby, no?) It's on the "Abs Diet" as a food to eat everyday! Although densley caloric, it's high in good fats, it is satiating, it lowers blood sugar, and has some protein.

    Thanks you guys.
I did have some left over calories.

PB is good, but I don't eat tons of it. I need to find a....healthier option....to my families Jif supply.
It's filling because of the fat, so....it helped.

I am trying to figure out an easy way to do a zig-zag method.
To be honest the weight isn't comin off, no matter how much I exercise (which I've had to cut back on cause I can't eat all the calories) and eating healthier (not 100% but way better then before).

Anyway, thanks for everyones suggestions. It helped a lot and improved my mental state. :flowerforyou:

Buy natural peanut butter. It will have just peanuts and salt. It will actually be lower in sugar and probably in fat as well since Jif adds hydrogenated oil and sugar. Natural PB is my main source of fat besides egg yolk, I eat it every day!

Remember, exercise doesn't produce fat loss. You could run a marathon, and if you ate regularly during the marathon, you wouldn't lose anything. It's the deficit that you have to play with. You may be eating too much, too little. Keep your exercise at the same level so that when you experiment with your calories, you will have only one variable (other things will effect it, but if you change your exercise and your calories at the same time, you can't determine what changes your fat loss).

My workouts are pretty much set for 3 months. So, I rarely vary those.

I haven't seen "natural" pb at the store where I shop, so I may need to do some research.
I keep within my calories, and have had to tweak my goals a bit, but I have noticed days when my carbs and fats are over. I am doing as Banks mentioned....50-30-20, this week to see if I have a change.
I also went from 1400 to 1488 (my BMR is supposed to be 1559...do I need to eat AT LEAST that many?)

Also, if I am over in fat but it's healthier fats is it really bad?

Ok, that's good, it definitely makes things easier to keep everything but one the same.

Natural PB is made by Krema, Skippy, and Smart Balance. I've seen it at Wal Mart, it should be next to the regular PB's. I've also seen it at Kroger and Food Lion if you have those grocers around. Are you doing 50/30/20 carbs/fat/protein? I have switched to a 50/30/20 or 50/25/25 now that I've started training for the half marathon, and I have seen continued weight loss from when I was at 40/30/30, and it'll help with my endurance.

If you go over a bit in fat, it's really not a big deal. If you're over so far that you are way under in carbs or protein, that can lead to malnutrition. Just make sure you're getting enough of everything...the numbers don't have to be exact.

I never eat less than my BMR, and when I drop down to the 1400's, my weight loss stops. Here's the crazy-complicated way I figure out my calories.

My BMR was tested in a lab at 1265.

On days I have school, I burn 1665 without exercise. So I subtract 500 to get to 1165 and then add exercise and work to that. I generally will eat 1800-2000 calories on those days.

On days I just have work, I burn an average of 93 cal/hr because I stand/walk all day. I subtract 300 from my BMR, so about half my deficit. Then I add my work and exercise calories. I usually eat about 1500-1600 calories on those days.

On my off day, I eat 1600 calories because I usually clean and run errands, so it's similar to how much I move around at school.

Yes, it takes a few extra seconds to go into 'Goals' and change my baseline, but it's worth it at this point in my fat loss. I really to have to tweak a lot to see the scale move nowadays.
