I try to work out 4-5 days a week. It depends on how late I leave work as to whether or not I go to the gym. I have a treadmill & lots of videos at home, so if I can't make it to the gym I'll do either of those at home.

I go to the gym 3x per week to lift weights. After lifting, I run about 4.5 miles on the treadmill. Total workout time for the gym trips is about 90-100 minutes. Also one other day of the week I run outside for about an hour. So for me 4 workout days, 3 rest days each week. And about 5.5-6 hours spent exercising each week.

I was doing taekwondo 4 days a week & working with a personal trainer 2 days a week..and I would sometimes take a rest day or do a workout dvd on the 7th day ( 30DS/Jackie Warner/Taebo..stuff like that).

I recently mixed things up to Taekwondo 4 days a week (M,W,F,S) and bootcamp (M,W,F mornings)..unfortunately that is the only time slot I could do bootcamp..so that is freeing up a few days a week but I find I really need my rest day now..and the other 2 days I am doing a workout video or just getting out and walking.

How many days a week do you go to the gym?

Do you workout outside of the gym? In addition or in replace of the gym....

How long do you work out for?

I try to go there as many times as I can, but I just cannot get myself there every day. I am just wondering what other people do.....

I found it interesting that the people who replied are extremely active.

Not everyone is that active, so don't feel bad if you aren't making it to the gym every day. The way that I see it is if you are increasing your activity level, you are on the right track.

Personally, I have only been working out consistently for about 2.5 months. Before that, it was not a consistent thing at all. For the past couple of months I have been working out 6 days/week. Sunday is my rest day. I am in week 3 of P90X/Turbo Fire hybrid, and I love it. There's just no way I can get to the gym, so this is something that I can do from home, and the routines are very motivating for me.

Anyway, everyone is different. We just have to figure out what works for us and then do it!

I'm on my feet four hours a day five days a week at work, shifting boxes, running around after customers, heading up and down stairs... retail is a hell of a work out in itself!
Then I try and do 30 minutes walking about 4mph on the treadmill every day
Two/three times a week I have roller derby training for two hours each time
In between those I alternate between a pilates DVD and a workout designed to build the core muscles used in roller derby.

So I attempt to do at least 30 minutes every day, more 5-6 days a week

Thanks for saying that, I was feeling really lazy, I like what you said about focusing on increasing the activity, this is what I need to do.
