7/9--4.03 miles
The last two evenings it has been raining so I did not go for a walk. Today it was raining this afternoon but stopped for awhile, so I got to go for a walk. After I got back I took off my shoes and got some water and was going to go sit in the back yard to cool off but it started pouring. I got lucky not only did I avoid the evil treadmill but I managed to avoid getting rained on.0 -

I did some calculations--I need to walk 4 miles for 14 more days this month to meet my goal, that gives me 5 days off for vacation and 2 rest days. I think that is doable, I really want to meet my goal this month.
We are doing great this month, 71.16 miles so far. WTG!!!0 -
7/1 - 7/4 : 9.38mi (for holiday weekend) We camped, biked & swam and we are burnt to a crisp! lol

7/10 = .4+ (.4walked, also swam for about 45min, how far is that? not a fast swimmer, just up and down the length of pool dodging people, ha ha)0 -

Also I found out the pool I swim is 50m, how do I figure the miles for swimming? Is it actual or is it converted?0 -
I figured it was a typo since ticker makes you put in your new total, just wanted to make sure I was posting correct numbers.
I think swimming is actual miles. Here is a calculator:

In swimming, 1500m is generally considered 1 mile. In any meet or competition, they will interchange "the mile" with "1500m." So 30 laps in your pool = 1 mile. I haven't seen anyone convert their swim miles to anything even though it's by far the slowest way to log miles.
I've been working a lot at my secondary job, with no internet so I've been missing the social aspect of MFP!

Hey Sole Sisters:
I wanted you to know I didn't dissappear, I just didn't work out this week.
I have 3 vertabras misaligned in my neck, somehow this causes my right hip to shift out of place and my back to tighten up. When my back tightens up I can't sleep. I started having trouble sleeping a couple of weeks ago but Sunday night was not able to sleep at all. I went to get a deep tissue massage on Tuesday and I've been sleeping alot since then. The massages are painful and takes a couple of days before my back feels like moving again. I plan on going walking tonight.0 -

Wow fitsherry, way to get in miles even with your bad back. Glad to see you exercising but don't permanently injure yourself!
7/14: 6.20 miles (converted from 17.5 biking)
7/15: 4.27 miles (3 bike miles converted to 1.27 miles plus 3 mi running)
7/16: 2.00 miles (converted from 5.5 biking)

I've been dealing with my neck/back for the past 10yrs, it was really bad last year. I finally found an upper cervical chiropractor that has helped some but I haven't made any progress in the last few months so I made an appointment with a new doctor in September. My chiropractor thinks I have whiplash from over 20 years ago and a mild case of scoliosis. Right now it is about lots of stretching, pain management, and finding a balance to not over do physical activity. It is just frustrating that I have the time and I'm motivated to lose weight and get in shape but my body puts too many limitations on me. I just need to be happy that I'm going in the right direction now.
