I know MFP Doesn't allow nude pix, but here is my question.

Being that we are all adults, or atleast young adults what is the REAL issue with nudity?

Am I odd that I think a naked person,is nothing more then a naked person? Unfortunately or society is so run by sex that nakedness offends people. For some reason we have been taught to think that nakedness = sex. Living in FL there are nudist camps around and I always find it funny when people express their distaste for it, and how it's not right to have children there. What is wrong with the naked form? It's just a body..

I agree.. I guess I'm one of the weird ones who look at a naked body and think "Hey, that persons naked"

The LAST thing that runs through my mind is anything sexual, unless of course, it's my husband, in the bedroom

It is the same as why a word that starts with F is offensive and another is not, there is no exact reason other then the morals of the day and society.

Now as far as it goes I like to be with a naked lady but also think that a nicely dressed one is just as or even more sexy to look at.

I personally wouldn't have a problem with nude pics, but I understand why the site doesn't allow them. When you start showing nudity, you get in all sorts of regulations where you have to strictly verify the age of every person who posted a picture (not just asking your age, but the way that adult sites do). All it would take is for one underage person to post a nude picture of themselves for the site to get caught up in distribution of child pornography charges. So I completely understand why sites like this don't allow them.

Nudity's been sexualized by groups with conservative, cultish practices. I won't go into which groups, as that will breach forum rules on discussions re: religion. But, it's always about control.

As a straight woman who really doesn't want to look at other women nude, I still think it's INCREDIBLY unjust that men get to walk around shirtless. Some of them have bigger boobies than I do!

I wish to live to see the day the US embraces boobie freedom.

I live in Canada (province of Ontario) and we have boobie freedom here lol...women are allowed to go topless just like men, however I think ever since it has been legal (maybe about 10 years or so) I have only seen a handful of women actually going topless. I for one would not be comfortable walking around topless and I am positive my husband would not want me walking around like that either lol...

Trying to understand why one socially constructed concept is bad over another is beyond my present mindset's scope.

Personally I don't see the added value in posting nude pics on this site. The bikini and underwear shots show quite enough. What do you expect to gain from posting nude pics?

Well my two cents, but MANY people can't just look at a nude body without having a sexual thought. This is more true for men than for women (it's just the way guys are programmed I think). There is a REALLY, REALLY fascinating book on the subject called "Every Man's Battle" by Stephen Arterburn and Fred Stoeker. Don't be fooled by the title, women should read the book too.

This book was eye-opening to me. And I highly recommend it.

I understand WHY they don't allow it, but it's the whole idea that being nude is a bad thing.Parents that get offended that their child saw an atomically correct statue at an art exhibit, people who throw a fit cause a woman is breast feeding anywhere other then a bathroom stall when out in public. People that sue and make a young man spend the rest of his life as a sex offender simply because he was joking with friends and mooned them..Again maybe I'm weird, but it's just body parts, nothing more unless I CHOOSE to think of it as more.

I agree, what makes nudity so taboo in a sense is that for many it induces sexual thoughts, I think the bikini pics on here show enough of the progress people want to show. Some women complain about being hit on by pervy men but imagine if they were posting nudes, I mean what do you expect?

I also get why it's not allowed on a site like this, but as an artist, I'm rarely phased by nudity. That went right out the window the first class I had to sit for 3 hours, 3 times a week drawing naked people of all shapes, ages, etc. You can't get a handle on how the body is put together if you're too worried about blushing to look at it. It generally doesn't phase me now.

I'm guessing that a lot more work places would block this site if nudity was allowed. And from somebody who *coughs*occasionally*coughs posts during work hours, I think that would suck. :embarassed:

i think that a well dressed guy, is sometimes more sexy, than one in the nude...imaginationis a great aphrodisiac...
nudity can cause probs with the regulators, and i have just found out that double entendres are a hot favourite either!!!
