Carbs are the devil. I'm convinced. :noway:

But I managed to lose by cutting then adding carbs, then cutting then adding and now I can really pick and choose what and how I want to eat. I love bread! And anything bread related. Pastas, etc. CARBS ARE MY ADDICTION-trust me, you can get control and still enjoy a splurge. You CAN do this.

    Be well!

Well done for admitting it! I used to do that with chocolate, I would buy some and stash it in the freezer and then when everyone went to bed I would go and eat it so no one would know. Its not right, you shouldn't feel ashamed about eating bread if its something you enjoy. Obviously you can't eat an entire loaf everyday but if this a food that you love and works into your calories then enjoy it, don't feel guilty about eating something you love. Life is about enjoying yourself not feeling guitly just because you indulge in eating bread!!!

I love it too!! I just try to less of it. Its really hard at restaurants when they bring it out and set it right in front of you with that little bowl of butter!!! Good Luck!!

Since NONE of the restaurants in my town offer whole grain bread (grrrr, a major pet peeve of mine! :explode: ) I ask them not to bring it, or ask them to take it back if they bring it before I have the chance to ask them not to. I can't eat it if it's not on the table. I don't mind splurging on some high calorie bread occasionally if it's whole grain but I'm not going to kill myself with nasty white bread!

You need to read the book "Why Can't I Stop Eating" It is a real eye opener! Talks about how sugar/carbs are listed with cocaine and morphene as "mind altering" substances. That to some people it acts just like a drug to a drug addict and alcohol to an alcoholic.

Where is bread listed as a mind altering substance?

I enjoy bread in moderation. just like everything else I eat.
I do love multigrain and whole wheat more than other breads tho. not a fan of white - never was.
  • I am addicted to CHEESE, CHEESE, CHEESE glorious CHEESE. I actually hide in the kitchen from my husband and stuff my face with it. I am starting to control how much I eat, and what kind I eat. I found that goat cheese is less fat than cheddar cheese so I eat that instead. I only put it on my salad and I only have 1oz. A friend of mine hates cheese she even picks it off of her pizza, oh how I wish that was me. :0)

I'm addicted to bread and chocolate (Not together though. Unless it's nutella.) I find it really hard to know what to substitute for bread because bread has always been nice and filling for me, whereas other things don't leave me feeling as satisfied. And as for chocolate, I just crave the sweetness. I always get this horrible craving for something sweet after eating dinner. Even if i'm already full.

Me too! The horrible part is on my way home from the gym I have to drive past a bakery and you can smell it! Then I have to swear at it! Eff you BREAD!

One of my friends lives across from a large bakery. We were out swimming a couple weeks ago and they were baking over the. The air was filled with bread fumes and holy crap, so difficult.

I used to be terribly addicted to bread - I baked all kinds of breads - crusty, earthy, grainy loaves, light, fluffy, white loaves - everything. And I never could lose those last 10 lbs. I never was in the shape that I wanted to be in.

When I cut grains out of my diet (primal), it was a godsend. I lost my terrible carb cravings, even for my beloved breads. I lost all the weight, I felt better, I looked better. And I don't miss it. Now, if I eat bread, it gives me a stomach ache, and I'll feel bloated for about a day. So it's just not worth it to me anymore. I don't enjoy the taste as much as I enjoy feeling/looking good.

The only thing I really miss, is baking. :(

Have you ever had light or reduced calorie bread? It is probably the best thing that was ever invented. 35 calories for a slice!

Plus if you go with whole wheat it is high in protein, fiber and low in sodium and fat!!

I used to have a weekly love affair with a french baguette. One week regular, next week sourdough.
Then I discovered the "Everything Italian" bread loaf at Wal-Mart.
I knew it had to end. I would eat the whole loaf in one day.
That is going to be my splurge for my birthday this year. One whole loaf of Everything Italian bread from Wal-Mart.

Yes I feel the bread cravings. My bread of choice. An entire pan of Pillsbury cinnamon rolls. The big ones that has the cream cheese icing and the CinoBun stuff.

I know it says SIn NO on the label, but I am damned every time.

But I can honestly say it has been 3 years since I sat done to a hot tin of rolls. I had decided that since I was done with making babies I had no more excuses.
I don't even stop to pick up the Whopp biscuits, I send my husband in that direction. If he isn't with me I will have him stop at the store on the way home from work. He hasn't caught on. And I think he would be horrified if he know I used to eat all the rolls at once, not sharing them with the kids like I said I dd.
