I think it's realistic. I remember reading that for someone who is 5'7" your ideal weight would be 140. I read it forever ago, but it stuck with me so it's my goal too.0

Yay! I was also questionning my goal and even though everyone is different, it gives me a very good idea! I'm also 5'7'' and at my heaviest, 2 years ago, I was 175. Currently, I weigh between 151 and 153. My goal is to get under 150 (I know, they're just numbers) and I would like to maintain at around 140-145. Given that I would like to lean out some more. When I boxed, in my younger years, I was 142 and lean, and fit like crazy! At my best. But that was also 10 years + ago ;-)0

I'm 5'7" and weigh 125+/- a few pounds at any given time and not dieting. I am not skinny, just slim. I am small boned, and anything less than 125 is not attractive for me. That said, I pretty much graze all day. I've been tracking my nutrients. I walk 2 miles 3-5 times a week (@ around 4mph). I think I stay slim by not focusing on amounts of food, but rather on healthy food. I make sandwiches with Flatout bread, cheese, turkey, a dash of mayo or mustard and lots of broccoli sprouts on top; very satisfying and filling. So in answer to the question in my opinion depending on your build you could realistically weigh from around 125 and upwards and look terrific. Not everyone is meant to be slim. Healthy is better.0

Hi, I am 5'7" started at 181 lbs in July and today I'm at 149. It's true about the last 10 pounds being the hardest to lose !0
-
I'm 5'7" 1/2. Sept '10 I weighed in at 195. Got down to 147 and now I'm at 153-154. My goal is 145.
I'm hoping to make it there in 2 months. I'm not sure my body could go much lower.0 -
I'm 5'7 too! So glad to see so many friends here~
My SW was 131, and my CW is 123, and my goal (ideal) is 117.
Actually, I'm pretty content with my current weight, but I still got my buns and thighs that needs to get ripped. If I work to get them in better shape that I wanted, then the weight shouldn't be such a big deal.
I know that this number should seem ridicious for most of the people, but at my place, my weight should be average, and I do have a smaller frame. And I wish to see myself in better shape!0 -
I am 5'7. I am hoping to get down to 175 as right now I am 100 pounds heavier than that. I hope to lose it!!! oh, and y'all can add me if you want!!0

I'm currently at 190 (thanks to the holidays, I gained 10lbs). Right now my goal weight is 165, I have big "girls".
I started about 2 years ago at 252.. I'm more than pleased with my progress. It's been a LONG.. LONG.. road.0 -

I'm 5'7" and currently weigh 176. I'm in my 40's, but when I was in my 20's before kids I was around 140 and a size 6-8. In my 30's and early 40's I was 150 and a size 8-10. I would like to get down to 145 as I believe this is a sustainable weight for my body type and frame. I'm muscular so tend to weigh more than I look.0
-
Well, I'm 2 inches taller, but I don't consider it a huge difference!
I'm 175 as of this morning with an overall goal of: 140-145. Heck, I'd be happy at 150!0 -
I'm 5'7 too my start weight was 209 :-/ and hope to get down to 135 or 140 either way I just want to be happy with the way I feel and look!!
I'm 5'7" and my starting weight was also 209. Kinda crazy how we were exactly the same lol. I began MFP October 7th and have lost 14 pounds since then (I am now 195). My goal weight is 170, and if I decided to lose more from that point the lowest I would want to be is 150 I believe, just because thats where I would feel comfortable.0 -
I'm 5' 8" and my goal is 130 lbs. 20 lbs to lose..0
-
I'm 5'7 as well! Right now I'm 164 but my ultimate goal is 135.0

I think it depends on your build. I'm 5'6 and a half and I think if you're really small boned that 135 or 140 is doable. However, from my own experience, I did get down to 145 and everyone was trying to feed me. I thought I looked the best I ever had, but I look back now and my face looked sunken in and bones were sticking out. It was not very attractive. So, now I've stared at 210 and my goal weight it 165. 155 would be the lowest fpr me from experience. I would say keep it realistic. Go for 175 and see how you feel. It's your body so only you can really know your ideal weight.0

I'm 5'7"
I have a long way to go but my goal weight is between 140-150
I was 168 in high school and had a bit of a tummy... lost 25 lbs when I ran cross country my Junior year.
I say 140s is reasonable weight for our height. We'll just have to see when we get there =]0 -
Totally realistic. I started at 182 and am now down to 135. I have dipped as low as 132 but it's difficult to maintain! So I try to stay around 135.
A tip: See how you feel when you get to your goal weight. Your weight has little to do with your size. Everyone's body shape is different. I wear a size 2/4 in pants (depending on where i get them) and a 6 in shirts/jackets/dresses (sometimes an 8)... but that's the way I'm built. The same weight might mean different sizes to different people.
Get to 140 and see how you feel! Good luck!0 -
5'7 here! My goal weight is between 150-160.... I'm starting at 230:noway: ..0
-
Im 5'7 and currently 168, hoping to get down to 126. Feel happy with my progress so far.0
-
That is absolutely reasonable. My goal weight is 130, which is right in the middle of the healthy BMI scale.0
-
I am 5'7 and currently 180 but I have a newborn and two other girls to blame. In the past I was 135 and I think that is the slimist I should be because I have a more muscular build. Feel free to friend me.0
-
I'm 5'6 and I started at 200lbs... now I'm down to 154lbs. My goal would be somewhere between 110~120....
If my country wouldn't be this obsessed with skinniness I'd be totally fine with 140lbs0 -
I'm 5'7", started at 244 and my goal is 144. Your goal sounds perfectly realistic and healthy.0

I am 5'7". I turned 30 last year and decided i was not happy with my weight of 185lbs... I had never weighed more than 180lbs so i started working out Jan 2011. i had lost my first 10lbs by my Birthday Feb 2011 and then lost another 20lbslbs by June 2011. I have maintained that weight loss all year. I fluctuate between 150 and 155lbs from week to week. I am currently training for a 1/2 marathon in march. I am not trying to lose anymore weight but have a feeling i might see 145lbs by March with my training. I have never been a thin girl but i do not think that your goal is un-realistic.0

I'm 5'7 and weigh anywhere from 145-150, my goal is 130-135. It's frusturatin because I wear a size 10 and could wear a size 10 when I weighed 165 so I'm wondering if weighing 135 is going to get me into something like a size 4 or 6 which is what I would like. I can wear an 8 in some things but they are tight.0
-
I'm 5'7 also and my goal is 150. Sadly, I have an absurdly long way to go. le sigh. Good Luck!0
-
I am 5'7". I currently weigh 146lb. Just starting to get back into working out. When I was in very good shape I was around 135lb. I wasn't too skinny. Just right. So the idea of 141lb is very realistic. Go for it!0
-
I am 5'7 and have been wavering between 155 and 160 for what seems like forever! I'd love to be down to 135-140. Good luck to everyone with their goals!0
