No this is not an exercise thing...
Planking...its supposedly the new trend of kids these days. I seriously don't understand why it became so popular and how idiotic it is by laying straight on things. I know people have become offensive because it goes back to the slavery days but what is this world coming to. Stupid planking, another mindless excuse to feel like your "cool". Anyhow there's my rant and goodnight :yawn:

    There is nothing racist about it. 1 person decided to make it a race issue and bring up some BS... People of ALL races do it...

    Even though I don't get it, I think some of the pictures I've seen of it are pretty funny... unique.. lol

    I'd never heard of it until someone died from it here in Australia, it was all over the news! I can't believe how stupid these people are!

    I don't get it. It makes for some crazy, "how the heck did they get away with that" photos, but I don't see the big deal. That is, if their staying safe. Seems innocent in comparison to what some kids do these days. But yeah, some folks are going over the edge with it, and getting hurt.

    Honestly, I plank...in my living room...tabata interval style (for now at least). Doing it in public while people take pictures seems kind of useless lol =D.

    It's just a fun way to kill time. What's the point of saying, "Hey, get a picture of me hugging this statue"? None, right? Same thing with planking. It's just something people do for fun. The problem where people have gotten hurt is where judgment went out the window. The guy that fell off a balcony railing was heavily inebriated, as I understand.

    Hm, I don't think it had to do with "one person" deciding it was based on slavery, if you actually read up on it, it IS based on what the slave owners used to have the slaves do.

    It's pretty sad when it becomes a game to ppl who have no idea what the term truly means.

    If someone says something is racist that doesn't mean something is only done by one race.:noway: :laugh: :laugh: I'm sorry, I really tried not to laugh at your explanation up there but I can't help it... it's just well, naive & uninformed.

    You also stated that " you don't get it", so that might be partly why you think it's a pretty innocent game.

    To a certain extent, I suppose that's true, but I can't imagine having that much spare time to kill and not being able to come up with about a hundred better ways to do it...

    Oh, and I only knew what it was because Rosario Dawson was on "Chelsea Lately" last week, and apparently she's really into it for whatever reason, When they first started discussing in during the interview, I had no idea what they were talking about until they showed a picture and Rosario demonstrated on her chair.

    Had to google this to make sure it wasn't as dumb as it sounded, but of course, it IS as dumb as it sounds. I may have partied too much in my youth but at least I wasn't just laying on things for fun. :huh:

    yip, i agree,my nephew was plnking on a ledge above a shop door at weekend, seen the police coming, jumped off and nearly broke his leg,got arrested and fine 50 quid. Serves him right for being so stupid.

I also did it with my youngest daughter, because we liked to laugh at ourselves. I sent the Neice the pictures on Facebook. We laughed for a week! Have a little humor. life isn't all serious.
