Weirdest weight loss comment?

I think sometimes we continue to wear our old clothes, so we dont look like we have lost weight.
No one really noticed until I wore a tighter fitting, sleeveless shirt and 2 size smaller pants. Then everyone in the office questioned my diet (what ARE you taking?)
It is hard because sometimes we zip right thru a size and dont want to spend a lot of money on clothes. I am going to a consignment shop this weekend!
cheers:drinker: :drinker:0 -
A guys I work with asked
"how much weight have you lost"
I said "since Jan. , 61 lbs (i started losing before I joined mfp)"
He said "Wow, you didn't look like you were THAT big"

I get a lot of people who don't recognize me at all, since I was gone for school when I started losing weight... They have no idea who I am until I'm like...um, HI!
My sister's friend noticed and was like OMG!!!! OMG!!!!! I HATE YOU! haha she was just kidding (sort of)
The best though was one of my best friends, she was walking up a set of stairs behind me and went, "ya know, since you started losing weight, you REALLY don't have a butt. None at all."
Thanks girl. Love you too.0 -
My boyfriend the tactless wonder (he's not all that bad though ) picked me up of the couch the other day and said, "Hey you're easier to pick up now." I just smiled and said, "I've never been easy, you should know that!" :laugh:0

The oddest one was from a regular customer at my store, she was like "Wow, you look great, you don't have leukemia or are doing drugs are you? I didn't know either to feel flattered or offended.0

I walked into my friends parents house and I opened the door to see his dad sitting on the couch. He turns, sees me and shouts "WELL AREN'T YOU A SKINNY F**K!!!!!"
Hahahaha! :laugh:0 -
I was at a Big & Fat clothing store and was checking out when the clerk began telling me about upcoming sales and asked me about calling to remind me of the sales. I told him not to take it personally but that I was agressively working at weight loss and planned to get to a place very soon where I never came into the store. He smiled and noted that I am tall (just over 6' 3") and could be one of their petite customers. It really made me laugh. I've had many adjectives applied to me but petite is not one of them. I still chuckle when I think about it.0

I had lost about 40 lbs (found out later it was because I was sick...the surgery and meds. made me gain it all back + some:mad: ). But, during my brief skinny period my neighbor said, " Wow, you've really lost a lot of weight (nice), but I guess some people are always going to have big hips and thighs.:explode: I thought about asking her how her cigarette and liquor diet was going...but I bit my tongue.0

Here's a good one. I go into the office...a coworker who really always sees the negative side of everything comes all the way from another department because someone told her I lost a lot of weight. I see her coming and I am trying to get away...dont want the negativity......cant escape............here she comes..........................
Oh you DID lose weight.......but watch out because you will start to look your age now cuz all the fat filled in your wrinkles before!!
I told her that isnt so and she would see a big difference herself if she drank 8 bottles of water a day,as I do!:huh:0 -
years ago when I was thinner, I was at a dept store and the pic on my ID was an old one before I lost the weight. the salesperson (guy) behind the counter looked at the pic, looked at me and then asked if it was my evil twin! I took it as a compliment. I can't wait to get to that point again! Of course I'll "lose" my ID and need to take a new pic.0

it's funny... i've lost 50 pounds but besides my fiance nobody really makes comments. They all know and i know that but it's like... unspoken.
They are so jealous. I looked at your pictures. You look awesome, you should feel so proud of yourself. It's a shame that your friends don't tell you that!:explode:0 -
My husband, bless his stinkin' little heart said....
You are now an honorary member of the Itty Bitty Titty Committee. It was meant as a compliment / joke, but gave me a complex.0 -
Though I haven't had any weird comments - quite a few people have said I've never looked so good. It's not just weight loss - 14 years ago, I weighed less, but didn't eat well or exercise much.0

I got another one earlier today. One of my friends from highschool ran into me and we where talking and she rubbed my belly like I was a puppy and said " You're losing some weight. That's good!":happy:0

i often get from my family back in NY, "stop losing weight! do you want to be un healthy?" Duh im trying to get healthy and they wonder why they are all falling apart, large in size and depressed.
Yeah, I get that too. Let's see...
"Stop looking so skinny!"
"Can I ask you a personal question, what size are you now?"
"20 more!, do you want to be anorexic?"
"20 more?? where from?"
"you have NO *kitten*?!"
"*****! let's stop talking to her now" (from my best friends!)
"Is that why you are in your Christmas card this year.... to rub it in?"
"oh sure, here she goes again, passing up on the beer, trying to make us look bad!"
I'm sure there's more!0 -
A few years back, I dropped around 70 pounds in less than a year and I kept getting accused of being anorexic. It confused me cause I weighed 160 and I'm only 5'6"
My Mom even asked me if I was having an affair?!?!0 -

Sometimes people just don't realise that you've lost weight, especially if you see them everyday. One of my best friends lost absolutely loads of weight over about a year, but because I saw her everyday I didn't notice it. It was only when I was looking back at our prom pictures from a year ago that I realised what a skinny minnie she'd become!0 -
Your legs look less, you know, um, less chunky in your jeans
Whatever! I know what I am doing and it's nice that people notice, even the Uncle Festers, because that means you are doing something right!0 -
My husband was bringing me a towel when I was getting out of the tub (darn kids and disappearing towels!) anyway he started to really compliment me by saying he could tell i'd lost weight. i said ya right, where did it come from cuz i cant tell. he started grab his gut and caught himself midway....but his eyes were still right on my belly....he just backed out of the bathroom quietly.
Another time he was playing on that stupid xbox and i got in his way, and he said well at least now i can see half of the tv.....0 -
What a great thread to start! It goes to show everyone gets "those" kinds of comments.
My weirdest comment for me was more offensive... i ran into a former co-worker and she said, "oh you look so much better NOW." I wish I was the kind of person to put people in their place because I wanted to say, "What, was I SO HORRIBLE to look at before?" :noway:0 -
I'm bumping this for all the night time folks because this was so fun to read.0
