I am so tired of being hungry ALL THE TIME!
What are some good filling foods low in fat? Or good snacks? ANYTHING that will help curb my appetite.

Almonds work for me.0
-
hemp protein with fiber before bedtime.0
-
Whole grain breads, almonds, apples, long grain brown rice, beans, etc....0
-
under 100 cal granola bars ... they're high in sugar, though.0
-
eat more fiber. it helps you feel full longer.0
-
Usually anything that is rich in protein will keep you feeling full for longer.0

They key is to make sure you're eating enough calories at each meal to fill you up, then eating every few hours. I like to use Shakeology along with some Clif or P90X bars to help curb hunger. Throw in some salad and lean protein along with some carbs (sweet potatoes are my favorite) and I do just fine.0

We'd be able to offer you much better advice if we could view your diary.0 -
apples are great snacks and seem to keep me full to the next meal.0
-
Veggies! You can eat bucket loads for almost no calories, no fat, and no sodium. Plus they are full of nutrients.
Pairing veggies with lean protein will definitely keep you feeling fuller longer
Hope that helps.0 -
Nothing works for me.0

Hard to give specific advice without access to your food diary but here are a couple general rules:
Eat more protein, especially in the morning - it will keep you full longer. And try eating more fresh fruits and veggies and the fiber should help keep you full as well. And try breaking up your meals. Instead of three big meals, eat 5-6 small meals througout the day.0 -
brocolli is very low in fat and calories. so is lettuce, carrots. Try looking at the veggies.0
-
arnold thin sandwich bread 100 cals
1 slice oscar white turkey 30 cals
laughing cow swiss cheese spread 35 cals
that is 165 calories and when I eat it for breakfast or lunch I don't even THINK about food.
no kidding!
ALSO:
lite kettle popcorn from trader joes - 100 cals
cheese stick - 80 cals
water - 0 cals0 -
One thing I've found too is to pay attention when I eat. I don't just mechanically fork it in anymore. Take the time to chew, savor, taste, etc. There's a reason people spend so much time making food taste good - it's meant to be a pleasurable experience. If I slow down and enjoy it, it seems to fill me up for longer.0

space out your meals so you eat every couple of hours. eventually you will either just not be hungry anymore or get used to that feeling til it is snack time. drink extra water to tide you over. I get hungry but it is right at my next meal time so i am good.0

Popcorn! It's light and fluffy, but still filling for me, and it's usually really low in calories for tha amount of food you get0
-
Drink lots of water - your body may just need hydration! I've also found that high-fiber foods and protein are best! Some examples:
Chobani yogurt - 14g protein
Almonds
Kashi Go Lean Cereal - I eat this every morning for breakfast!
Veggies - healthy and fiberous! You can make a nice dip with plain chobani yogurt and a seasoning of your choice!
Lean meats - I just ate deli sliced roasted chicken w/my salad - very lean!
Check out some diary's of some of those who post them - this will give you some meal ideas as well! Good luck to you! :flowerforyou:0 -
If you let us see your diary, we can much better help you. But the bottom line is that if you are hungry all the time, you are not eating enough, and eventually this will kill your weight loss.0

Get some (more) protein in every meal encounter...0

Excellent snacks to help fill you up are nuts, nut butters, avocado... fish (make sure you're getting fish with Omega-3 as my canned Tuna and Salmon don't indicate that they have omega-3 or unsaturated fat in general) canned sardines, herring fillets, cod liver oil....0 -
Try half of a medium-sized, crispy apple, one laughing cow (light) cheese wedge and 5 raw almonds. Just over a hundred calories, nutritious and very satisfying.0
-
I would suggest eating every few hours instead of eating 3 large meals (I normally do 5 to 6 "mini-meals").
For my snacks I normally try to pair a vegetable or fruit with a source of protein- this week is grape tomatoes with string cheese - all for 95 calories. My diary is open if you want to take a look
Food suggestions: light string cheese, skinny cow cheese wedges, popcorns, any vegetables, bananas, apples, peaches, nuts, fiber one bars, protein bars, yogurt, trail mix0 -
Almonds, Apples, Water, Celery w/laughing cow cheese, Hummus...all great snacks. Make sure you are doing small meals during the day as well.0

Protein, Protein, Protein, and fat, cut your carbs down some and replace them with protein and fat.0

Thank you for posting that.
It's all hormones.
Protein is the most filling, followed by fat, followed by carbs.
I originally came from the eat clean diet, eating all sorts of fruits, veggies, whole grains, and low-fat everything. I literally had to eat every 3 hours because I was so hungry. Always had to have food on me.
Now, I've switched to a high-fat, moderate-protein diet (Primal/Paleo). I'm barely ever hungry and sometimes have a hard time reaching my 'caloric goals' (though I don't put too much weight in calorie-counting). I'm easily have only 2-3 meals per day now.
I'm losing weight easily and it's so much less trouble than always ensuring you have food on you.0 -

Exactly, I'm Paleo/Primal myself,a nd NEVER feel hungry, well if I go all day without eating I will get hungry, but normal 3 meals a day and a egg and or a piece of fruit here and there is all I need to feel full all day. No 100 cal snack packs, every couple hours.0 -
I eat 4-5 mini-meals a day that average about 300 calories each, and always try to eat protien, carbs and fiber every time. And I'm drinking plenty of water between. Also ditto whoever mentioned slowing down and truly enjoying and tasting your food - the slower I eat and the more time I take to appreciate my food, the faster and more full I get.0

there is a fantastic article about being hungry here: http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/07/13/is-your-food-making-you-old-by-ori-hofmekler.aspx
it talks about the difference between "chronic" hunger and "acute" hunger. it also mentions that sugary foods and refined grains (white bread...) actually make us HUNGRIER. it's a great read if you have a few minutes!0 -

Truer words have rarely been spoken.. :happy:0
