Just curious as to see what MFP-ers wear while running?

As for me, Asics Gel-Nimbus. Tried other shoes (the Sketchers running shoes) and they gave me bad shin splints. :grumble: I was fitted by a running shoe specialist for my first pair of Asics a year ago and just ordered my second pair tonight after realizing my shin splits were caused by my newer running shoes. Now I'm convinced and I'm sticking with Asics Nimbus line because they really fit me right.

Actually I think I have the same Aasics and I also have New Balance- I used to wear Nike but have found that these two brands are the most comfortable for exercise without giving me problems with my feet

Brooks, Montrail, Ryka, and Newton. The first two brands I typically use for trail running (I do have some Brooks for road as well) and the second two are for road and training.

    Saucony Guide 3
    Saucony Omni 9
    Saucony Fastwitch 4
    Nike Structure Triax 14.

I rotate my running shoes depending on how far I run and on which terrain. I was wearing all Saucony shoes but on my last trip to the running specialty store, I tried on the Nike's and they felt like heaven on my feet. I can't wait to run a marathon in them!

Asics and NewBalance- but I definitely prefer my Asics as about a half mile on my run route is gravel and the gel totally cuts the impact. I will definitely be sticking with the Asics brand... they make my feet happy :)

Went to Dr's Once for a painful knee.. he mentioned Saucony and Asics Best for support

Recently on July 1st went to a Runners Store and they mentioned 1/2 size to a whole size bigger helps because your feet expand. Spent 100 bucks ..

Sells person also mentioned your shoes should never see a birthday something about 3500-5000 miles

I got tendonitis from Sketchers running shoes - my doctor actually laughed at me when I told him I was wearing those to run in. I wear Saucony's now, and I am considering trying new balance but I'd like to work on correcting my form more before I switch to those.

Actually...they should be replaced every 300-400 miles. I get new shoes at least every 3 months for both trail and road. Yes, go up at least 1/2 a size. My usual size for everyday shoes are a 5 or 5.5 and my running shoes are a 6 or a 6.5. Also, expect to pay at least $100+ every time. I spend about $900 a year on shoes.

    Barefoot.
Used to use newbalance trail shoes. Now I do shorter sprints on sand or at track (one is paved).
My calves were shocked but I no longer suffer fromPlantar Fasciitis and DON'T need my custom orthotics.(yay - those are expensive!)
    btw Very high instep .
Thinking of making a pair of old school Native American Runner mocassins. anyone tried that?

Used to run with Nike Shox Remix II's and III's, but that was before I started running seriously.

Attempted to run a 5k with Nike Shox Turbo 10's, but those gave me horrific shin splints and blisters....

I have switched to Asics GT2160's and I will never go back. I have two pairs (I switch off daily), and I love them more than any other pair of shoes I have had (for any sport).
