    Good Morning Ladies
I am feeling quite a bit better this morning. I went for a long walk along the river this morning with the puppy. It was so pretty. The puppy had fun chasing the birds. He had never paid attention to birds before and seemed amazed that he could make them fly away LOL. How about if everyone shares a favorite recipe this week. I love to try new recipes.

here is a great recipe. YUM. I love it

    Sesame Beef Lettuce Wraps:
Adapted recipe and photos by For the Love of Cooking.net
Original recipe by Under the High Chair

    Marinade:
    2 cloves of garlic, minced
    1 tsp sugar
    2 tbsp soy sauce
    1 tbsp sesame oil
    1/4 tsp ground ginger
    1 tsp rice vinegar
    1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
    Freshly cracked pepper, to taste
1 lb flank steak, cut against grain into thin slices

Combine all of the marinade ingredients together in a bowl then mix well. Slice the steak, against the grain, into thin strips. Place the steak into the marinade and mix until the meat is evenly coated. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for 1-3 hours.

    Korean Barbecue Dipping Sauce:
    2 cloves of garlic, minced
    1/2 tsp sugar
    3 tbsp soy sauce
    1 tbsp rice vinegar
1/2 tsp sriracha chile sauce (more if you want it spicy)
    1 tsp sesame oil
    1 tbsp green onion
    1/2 tbsp sesame seeds
    1 tbsp water

Combine all ingredients together and mix well. Set aside to let the flavors mingle.

    Other ingredients:
    Butter lettuce leaves
    Shredded carrot
    Green onion, chopped
    Brown rice, cooked per instructions

Cook the rice per instructions. Once the rice is cooked it's time to cook the beef.

Heat 1/2 tbsp of canola oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Once the pan is HOT add half of the beef and cook for 1-2 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from heat and put into a serving dish. Coat the skillet with another 1/2 tbsp of canola oil and add the remaining beef once the pan is HOT again. Cook for 1-2 minutes or until lightly browned.

For serving, place a bit of rice in a lettuce leaf followed by beef, carrots, and green onions. Drizzle a bit of the dipping sauce on top then fold and eat. Make sure you have plenty of napkins on hand because these are messy. Enjoy.

Right now I love the yellow tomatoes. Cut them up with a little salt and it's sooo good!
Also love the ranch mini rice cakes, I am a salt person!
For chocolate fixes I like just plain old chocolate chips, I think you can have 17 for for about 80 calories
  • WHO WANTS TO BE A HOT MOM? - GROUP RESULTS, Week 8 (9/12)

Hello, Hot Moms!! Check out the weekly stats below.

    DUUxk.png

Here's a quick summary of the past 8 weeks.

    Dw320.png

Holy crap. Did we just collectively lose only 5.9 lbs this week?! 39 members weighing in, and only 5.9 lbs?! Time for a progress report!!

Below, you will find our latest progress chart. I’ve calculated everyone’s “% to GW.” As of today, if you want to reach your goal weight, you will need to have a 34% or higher. To make it even more fun, I calculated your estimated weight loss by 12/31 and also your estimated weight on 12/31. These calculations are based on your total weight loss for the past 8 weeks, and I think you’ll find them very interesting.

    jLuB8.png

CONGRATS to everyone in the green! Let’s take a moment to recognize the members who are already over half-way to their GW’s:
    :flowerforyou: LPC020409 in Group 4
    :flowerforyou: Cherilea in Group 7
    :flowerforyou: MacksMama in Group 8
    :flowerforyou: Swimmom2 in Group 9
:flowerforyou: And rkeaton360 in Group 10
You ladies rock!! Thanks for showing us how it’s done!

:ohwell: [SIGH]...I’m still in the white group. But I’m SO CLOSE to getting in the yellow group! I’m tempted to change my 12/31 goal weight, but according to my favorite iPod app, “Target WEIGHT for Adults,” if I continue to lose weight at the same rate I lost for the past 2 weeks, I will reach by goal weight by 12/18/2011. There’s still hope for me! So….my GW stays the same for now. I’ll see what the next 4-week progress report says.

FYI - The next progress report will be posted the week of October 10, just DAYS after our half-way mark. It’s time to kick our weight loss in to high gear!

Have a great week, Hot Moms!!

Good morning ladies! Iam doing my check in today because my vacation time starts tomorrow, and I won't be back until Saturday the 24th. We are Hawaii bound for a whole week!!! My weight this week is 162 even, and my miles are 10. I included the 5k that I will be doing while on vacation in those miles this week since it is on Sunday. Here's to hoping I don't go to far off track on vacation, and gain a crap ton of weight!

My favorite low cal snacks are:

Fiber One 90 calorie brownie bars
    Red seedless grapes
    Baybel light cheese
    Horizon Organic string cheese
    Our everyday 365 fruit leathers
    Archer Farms Organic fruit strips
Blackberry, Strawberry, and Rasberry fruit parfait with dannon light and fit vanilla yogurt

Please share with us what exercises you have been doing.

I have been going to the gym doing exercise bike for 35 mins, treadmill 35 mins, stairstepper 10 mins and weight machines for 20 mins, on the days I dont go to the gym I do walking for 45-90 mins, I also do a short walk on my gym days in the evening for 30-45 mins. I also have been doing tricep kickbacks, and some weight exercises every other day at home........and I have a challenge that I have been doing that varies daily it is usually something like 50 squats or 50 crunches ( well I try to do it daily , heehee)
  • ive been walking mostly, with some wii fit, 30 day shred and yoga melt down mied in up until today, i started a 5-6 week job 7 days a week for 12 hours a day, i m not sure im going to be able to fit much else in other then eating as healthy as i possibly can and drink tons of extra water!!!

My weight this morning was 161.

I usually do workout dvd's during the week and then either use my treadmill or do dvd's on the weekend. I really like The Firm DVDs for light weights and Turbo Jam and Tae Bo for cardio. Sometimes I'll do Jillian Michaels No More Trouble Zones or Banish Fat Boost Metabolism. I like to have a variety in my workouts so I don't get board.

Thanks. My weight loss isn’t really consistent week to week. Last week I changed my target from 1 pound a week to a ½ a pound a week so that I could eat more. I try to eat most of my calories, watch my sodium and drink lots of water. I also do some type of exercise everyday for at least an hour. My diary is open if you want to take a look. I’ll warn you though that I have my cheat meals and am always over on my sugar.

My weight last Friday was 167, but I was 168 on Saturday. I have been really having a hard time getting off the 168 mark! I am going to try the Jillian Michaels kettle ball DVD this week and watch my carb intake more than I have been. I will just keep my weight at 168, I dont' want to mark down a pound unless I can stay there longer than a day :(

Even though the scale isn't moving for some reason my body has changed. I am comfortable in a size 8 pant and the slim fitting shirts fit me so much better and I feel perfectly comfortable! If I could even get down to 160 I think I would feel very content, I have never been striving to be a size 2, although that would be amazing!!!! I have 2 small children so I never get to sit down maybe that's helping?

    Good Morning ladies!

I gained 2 Ibs on vacation :-( while iam sad about that, Iam glad that it is alot less than I thought I would gain. We did ALOT of walking, swimming, and I went running with my dad a few times while on vacation. That kept the weight gain to a minimum. I ran the Maui Taco's 5k on our 2nd day there, and it felt really good. I decided to make a longterm goal to run the Maui Half Marathon in 2 years when my family goes back. My dad made a great running buddy, and even encouraged me to sign up for the Bolder Boulder 10k in May.

As for exercise I hike alot during the spring, summer, and fall. I also try and run around 10 miles a week, and I do one hour of zumba class on Tuesdays. Iam adding back in my turbo jam work outs from here on out.

Like I said ladies, this weight will come back off. I won't let my ladies down!!!
