Why can't there be a TOM filter on MFP? everytime I log on there's always someone posting something about TOM... can't we just treat MFP ladies TOMs as we do with the Myspace Tom and just forget everything about it???? =-)

Ditto about tv commercials... GROSS!

MFP needs more male members to balance out these topics!!!! =-p

I wouldn't mind fewer poo topics, either. Pooing is private!

Funny you say that!!!! Some awkward woman commercial came on today, and I literally thought "if these really bother me... I can't imagine being a man!" LOL
Don't be jealous of the attention he gets :-p
I forgot what myspace even was ;)

isn't dedicating an entire new thread to it kinda the same thing? Nothing wrong with it, just asking....

Hahaha, I guess it just doesn't bother me. I have responded to several poo questions, and even posted one myself, (although I used the word "regularity" for modesty). Obviously, I haven't answered any TOM questions, but that's because I don't have that particular issue. Ultimately, it's related to the results and struggles people have along their journey, and sometimes, someone just needs an answer. It is nice, though, when they put "TMI" in the title or something, so we know it's a sketchy subject.

The TOM threads here are beyond ridiculous. :explode:

There's no reason to discuss it ever. If you're so confused then PM another woman about it, but stop forcing it on the rest of us!

Ya know...I wouldn't be opposed to more male members on MFP. Just sayin'.

Also, I agree with Heather...less poo talking, more poo flinging!

HATE those commercials!!! I don't know what goes on down there and don't need to see some blue liquid showing what goes on! I'm also opposed to any of 'feminine hygiene products" commercials!

I haven't posted about it but wouldn't have a concern doing so if I had a particular issue, or wanted to understand something a bit more. Other member's posts on TOM have actually been really interesting to me. Remember freedom of speech??? and anyway, no one is forcing you to read the thread!!!

Really? A question is a question, I don't think anybody should feel awkward to ask a normal question such as a woman's period cycle or pooing. It's a part of life...If people were making up threads just to be nasty than that is differen in my opinion.

Nice. Typical male. For the record my boyfriend doesnt even know when my TOM is. Im not oppossed to women asking questions though, because even though most are best suited for a medical prefessional who wants to pay a lovely co-pay to be told "Yep totally normal!" and more women dont have access to proper GYN care. Try working in an OBGYNs office. (My uncle is one) after about 2 weeks you would either quit, or be totally immune to TMI

Valid point by a wise woman.

    ~Healthy dose of perspective-time!~
RCKT82, You're entitled to your own opinion.
But, as a Biology major, I have to say: life is life. You can't isolate weight loss from all other biological functions. Everything plays an important role, and I believe it's imperative that people feel free to ask relevant questions regarding their menstruation and how it relates to food, exercise, weight loss/maintenance/gain, and overall well-being.

Same goes for Heather. Everybody does it. Doctors use it as an indicator of digestive health.

What may be taboo for you is simply a part of life for many other humans.

It doesn't offend me reading all of the TOM questions, but I have a hard time believing this many grown women really need help in that area. Once you hit your 20s, 30s, etc. I would think you would know what was going on by now.

When I see TOM postings I feel for that person cause of all the insane hormones, backaches, tiredness, CRAZY appetites/cravings and can be quite tiresome every month or how many ever months in a year. It reminds me of being semi pregnant really. It's horrible sometimes and if guys only felt some of that then I'd think they would be a bit more understanding. I think its more of an outlet for women and others to post these topics. To each their own I say :flowerforyou:

Not that I frequent either topic, but both do have a lot to do with weight loss and I grew up in a family that shares EVERYTHING. There's no modesty there.

Besides, the women used to post "LADIES ONLY" In the subject line for TOM questions, but that drew in more guys so blame your male counterparts on that one. And also, no one forces you to look at the topics either...

Same goes for the poo gal.

Did you just call Heather "the poo gal"? That isn't very nice.
