I wouldn't mind fewer poo topics, either. Pooing is private!

and really creepy knowing those people don't wipe - GROSS!!!!

    I'm glad I missed that....and wouldn't that make their butt itch??....not to mention stink....EW!

it was in the what do you prefer thread posted earlier. Creepy the things people think about.....

HATE those commercials!!! I don't know what goes on down there and don't need to see some blue liquid showing what goes on! I'm also opposed to any of 'feminine hygiene products" commercials!

But those Trojan and Viagra commercials are okay, right? I mean, as long as it's not a woman's bodily functions being referred to, it's all good...

Much better that girls don't have any idea what to do when starting menstruation, or how it works. Must appeal to those Victorian sensibilities, after all. It's not like it's relevant to half the population or anything.

Hahaha, I guess it just doesn't bother me. I have responded to several poo questions, and even posted one myself, (although I used the word "regularity" for modesty). Obviously, I haven't answered any TOM questions, but that's because I don't have that particular issue. Ultimately, it's related to the results and struggles people have along their journey, and sometimes, someone just needs an answer. It is nice, though, when they put "TMI" in the title or something, so we know it's a sketchy subject.

    ^^ What this guy said

Just to throw in an opposing viewpoint... Modesty or TMI warnings or whatever are all good, but I seriously don't see a problem with people asking honest questions about bodily functions. We all poo. If we're healthy women, then we most likely have a period - why is that gross?

Call me crazy, but I don't think I'd be comfortable getting intimate with a guy who thinks my body is disgusting for doing it's normal biological thing...

Because TOM and Aunt Flo affect every aspect of a womans life! They affect our weight loss....hormones cause us to be crank, bloated and make us want to eat a whole chocolate cake in one setting! If you dont like the threads dont read them!

I myself would never post about my poo but hey if its a problem for someone and they need answers that is what the forum is for!

Um, cuz I'm not the brightest bulb in the box, can someone pls explain to me what a TOM post is? Thanks!

TOM = Time of the Month AKA your period AKA your menstrual cycle

Thanks! I kinda figured it out after looking at it for a while... Sometimes I have my blonde moments! LOL

You know Viagra was covered by health insurance before Birth control?

I personally dont care to think about an old guy getting his groove on, but whatever makes him happy.

isn't dedicating an entire new thread to it kinda the same thing? Nothing wrong with it, just asking....

Valid point by a wise woman.

    ~Healthy dose of perspective-time!~
RCKT82, You're entitled to your own opinion.
But, as a Biology major, I have to say: life is life. You can't isolate weight loss from all other biological functions. Everything plays an important role, and I believe it's imperative that people feel free to ask relevant questions regarding their menstruation and how it relates to food, exercise, weight loss/maintenance/gain, and overall well-being.

Same goes for the poo gal. Everybody does it. Doctors use it as an indicator of digestive health.

What may be taboo for you is simply a part of life for many other humans.

Please never refer to me as "the poo gal" again.

It isn't taboo - it's gross. I understand that doctors use it as an indicator of digestive health which is why people should discuss their digestive issues with their doctor.

no no no... i think some of you are reading me wrong... I was talking about a filter... like a personal setting filter when browsing to omit them... I understand it's important to ya'll... but these topics are scattered EVERYWHERE.... I'm not saying it shouldn't be allowed or banned... but it would be nice to have the option to reduce the clutter...

besides... don't get all bent out of shape.. I wasn't throwing out a rant... just simply conveying my observation of the over usage of that topic and maybe put it out there that this particular topic is being created...

My bad if some of you feel I was attacking or PMSing the topic lol

RELAX Ya'll it's friday!!!! Happy time!

Oh, hah. I didn't mean to offend... I just forgot who it was that mentioned that, so I was generalizing. So sorry!
  • The TOM threads here are beyond ridiculous. :explode:

There's no reason to discuss it ever. If you're so confused then PM another woman about it, but stop forcing it on the rest of us!

    /soapbox

    wahh.
I disagree, I think we should be able to talk freely about it..

It doesn't offend me reading all of the TOM questions, but I have a hard time believing this many grown women really need help in that area. Once you hit your 20s, 30s, etc. I would think you would know what was going on by now.

this exactly. Some of the questions are a bit ridiculous..

Another valid point. A filter would be more convenient also for people who have questions about various bodily functions, as well as those who want to avoid it.

Well, congrats then on inadvertently creating what is, IMO, actually a really interesting discussion  (quite possibly the most interesting TOM thread I've seen posted, though I don't often actually read them)
    Happy Friday to you, too!

LOL my bad, its about that time for me so I guess I took it to heart...but yes a filter is nice, especially for the topics that are asked repeatedly. Maybe even add a tab button at the top specifically saying "search". Only because I've see others say they didn't know about it.

SO TOM and POOING are TABOO subjects? Wow! I understand sometimes like on Facebook, that it gets mentioned and doesn't need to. But TOM and POOING are affected greatly by what we eat and do. Sometimes so much that it makes it difficult to live a normal life. These subjects, though I definitely don't like to hear about POOING for sure, belong here. SO it's definitely a good thing when they give some clue in the subject line so people know to stay away if they don't want to read about them.

And, yeah, I could do with less period posts, but seriously... if you're sick of reading about them, imagine how sick women are of HAVING them!
