Really? I had alligator and it was pretty delicious, but I have heard that it needs to be prepared very carefully or it gets quite tough.

Fried calamari at the bar... probably not a good choice for the first time trying it. Good thing I was already drinking.

fried ants or swordfish. The swordfish was quite good. I couldn't get past knowing I was eating ants to enjoy them.

Hákarl, or also known as "fermented shark", from Iceland. Now I know why the alcohol is so strong there:smile:

Either blood pudding or frog legs...Blood pudding surprisingly has no flavor, but nasty texture. Frog legs were pretty good except for the stringy tendons :/

Well - i live in Asia so i get a whole host of crazy stuff on my plate at times.

    - Balut: a fertilized duck embryo that is boiled alive and eaten in the shell.

    - turtle hotpot (which the live turtle put into the boiling water at the table)

    - bulls penis (duh !! Didnt realise what it was till someone told me later)

    - plus the usual assortment of ducks tongues / chickens feet etc....

Horse milk in Kazakhstan -- it smells and tastes like straight-up vinegar! :P Horse meat tastes a bit like beef, just a bit tougher... I think I'll stick to just riding horses from now on!
