Not going to set any records this month!

    8/1 - 20 miles
8/2 - 20 miles (it's already 95 at 10am when I finish my ride, we are going to roast today at 112... I've NEVER see 112 before!)
<a week off while traveling for a conference, then a few days of riding in Colorado>
    8/11 - 7.3 miles (at a mile of elevation)
    8/12 - 11 miles (at a mile of elevation)
    8/13 - 20.5 miles (at a mile of elevation)
    <travel day>
8/15 - 9.11 miles of hard hills around the neighborhood, 30 seconds faster than my fastest time
8/16 - 12.22 miles of mostly flat neighborhoods
8/17 - 20.5 slow miles of mostly flat neighborhoods with a friend

About 122 miles so far. Pathetic, but I'll keep chipping away at it.

    As of today the 17th:
    155.2 road miles.
    2,730 feet climbing on trails.
5,360 feet descending on gravity bike.

I hope to ride to work Thursday and Friday, that would give me 80 more road miles.
Planning on Fernie this weekend, that's chairlift riding, so I should get 10,000 feet of descending.
No trail ride plans for this week, but Thursday the 25th I plan to race again, that would put me over 3,000 for the month.
I'm attending a wedding in Idaho on the 27th, so that will have and effect on my rides that weekend.

This riding has been paying off... my skinny clothes are fitting better, they were tight 6 weeks ago. Next stop skinny/skinny clothes, but they are so old they are quite out of style.

I missed the downhill miles I picked up on the Super D race I did.
I am at 6,800 descending feet.
I've also projected the remainder of the month.
In relation to my goals, I should end the month at:
    115% of road goal.
    88% of trail goal.
    84% of DH goal.
Funny, the opposite of last month. Go figure.

So, I started these challenges, and I have been slacking. First road ride of the month tomorrow, and already half the month is gone. I have some serious catching up to do. Heat or no heat, I'm spinning.

At least I'm not in last right now! :o) Enjoy the ride!

I've become so used to ridiculous heat (we've had a record summer) that I'll probably freeze when the weather cools off (if it ever does) and be unable to find warm cycling clothes and arm warmers which I haven't used in months and months. Who knows where they are now?

    :o)

that is about 171 more miles than the majority of the US population. We all have months that are not as good as others. But I do love your comment that you will keep chipping away. That is all we can do. Keep Pedaling Keep Pedaling.

I might be done. I think on my 100 mile ride a few days ago I am starting to feel the delayed stiffness coming. I have been in pain since about noon today and the pain is getting worse. That is the problem when you get old, stiffness takes a few days to set in. I will try and ride with the group tomorrow night and see how I feel but I may have to drop out.

I'm sorry to hear that; hopefully, it will start to feel better.

I've noticed similar problems, as I'm getting older, which is why I need to drop the remaining 160 pounds that I need to lose. If I don't, I'm going to have real problems.
