Not going to set any records this month! My goal now is to do one mile more than last month...

    8/1 - 20 miles
8/2 - 20 miles (it's already 95 at 10am when I finish my ride, we are going to roast today at 112... I've NEVER see 112 before!)
<a week off while traveling for a conference, then a few days of riding in Colorado>
    8/11 - 7.3 miles (at a mile of elevation)
    8/12 - 11 miles (at a mile of elevation)
    8/13 - 20.5 miles (at a mile of elevation)
    <travel day>
8/15 - 9.11 miles of hard hills around the neighborhood, 30 seconds faster than my fastest time
8/16 - 12.22 miles of mostly flat neighborhoods
8/17 - 20.5 slow miles of mostly flat neighborhoods with a friend
<rest day - meetings and napping to catch up>
8/19 - 10 miles in the neighborhood BEFORE sunrise (followed by 8 hours of meetings...)
8/20 - 31 miles in the hot and humid hinterlands today

About 162 miles so far. Pathetic, but I'll keep chipping away at it.

that is about 171 more miles than the majority of the US population. We all have months that are not as good as others. But I do love your comment that you will keep chipping away. That is all we can do. Keep Pedaling Keep Pedaling.

I might be done. I think on my 100 mile ride a few days ago I am starting to feel the delayed stiffness coming. I have been in pain since about noon today and the pain is getting worse. That is the problem when you get old, stiffness takes a few days to set in. I will try and ride with the group tomorrow night and see how I feel but I may have to drop out.

I'm sorry to hear that; hopefully, it will start to feel better.

I've noticed similar problems, as I'm getting older, which is why I need to drop the remaining 160 pounds that I need to lose. If I don't, I'm going to have real problems.

Not only that, but it takes longer to recover :-/

So, I started these challenges, and I have been slacking. First road ride of the month tomorrow, and already half the month is gone. I have some serious catching up to do. Heat or no heat, I'm spinning.

At least I'm not in last right now! :o) Enjoy the ride!
    OUCH!.... bahahahahaha

So here is the link to my bike....

    http://www.roadbikeoutlet.com/0featured/vilano-forza-3-0-road-bicycle-shimano-sora.html

Unfortunately, I still have not had a chance to ride it yet...GRR!! Hubby had to finish putting it together, and he has, but he still needs to "tweak" it for shifting. And we had a jam packed weekend, so there just wasn't any time for him to get it done.

Hope to be on it no later than Saturday. He is starting an 8 week training plan for the Seagull Century Ride in Salisbury, MD and I have a long ride scheduled for my sprint tri plan.

Got 45 miles in last week so I have 5 more to go to hit my goal of 200. I started spin class today and they don't track the miles so I am not sure how many miles I will be picking up on those days.
