(I am posting the Week 3 Thread early since I will be unavailable to get on-line tomorrow)

Hey Everyone! Great Job this week for those who kept on running through this program and those who did not let downfalls stop them :drinker:

Now it is time for Week 3! I am personally kind of scared  since we are going from a 1min30sec jog to a 3min jog!

Here is the link to the new thread for Week 3: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/310515-week-3-c25k-running-group

    Please start posting there

:drinker: Once again THANK YOU for joining me and everyone else in this journey!:drinker:

    M.

Ran another day at Week 3 because I'm not feeling strong enough to move on just yet. Maybe this week I will feel up to the challenge.

I was intimidated about week 3 too (now starting week 5 tomorrow) just get out there and try it, have it in your mind that you are going to run those 3 minute runs, you have no choice! It helped me to think positive your body can do it you just have to push yourself! Good luck!

I *was* attempting Week 4 this week, but to be honest I'm really struggling with it! The five minute runs feel really long. So I'm going back to Week 3 for now and I'm going to do that until I feel more confident!! :ohwell:

I am not getting into this running thing yet, either. I, too, am on week 4 ... finished day 1 ... day 2 on deck. Hopefully, at some point, it will just click!

I've been out of commission (workout wise) for over a week now due to my ankle -- planning to start C25K again. We're supposed to start Week 4, but I'm not sure I'll be able to manage it without risking reinjury. I may have to drop back a week or more. Or just walk, which will be irksome, but I want to get back on it!!

Whatever you do will be better than not doing it! :) good luck!

Hi everyone! I started C25K the first of June and got through 2 weeks, then went on vacation for a week and then slacked off for 2 more weeks. So I started Week one again this week and it is going well. My husband is doing it with me over again as well to be supportive. I never was a runner and I don't have the greatest knees but so far so good. I'm excited to join this group! :flowerforyou:
  • W2D3 Completed! I feel like I am getting better at this, especially as compared to when I initally did my first W1D1. I find it's something I am enjoying doing. Both yesterday and today (yes, I know I am supposed to rest in between), I made a point to tell DH he had the kids for the time I needed to run.

During I felt proud of myself that I am sticking to my goal and making the committment to myself and the program.

After I felt not as tired/winded as I did last week. I must be doing better!

    I am really enjoying C25K!

I will mention I am having a medical procedure tomorrow and I know afterwards "strenuous" activity like running is supposed to be out. I will talk to the doc to see if this interval brisk walk/light jog is okay or if I have to remand back to brisk walking for the time being. I will check in with my progress, but may not be able to move along with the group as far as weeks, etc. Just wanted everyone to know I am still focused on my goal of the 5K on 10/16 and committed to training, but may have to go about it differently for a bit :)

Anyone been experiencing pain in their hips from the running? I didn't start my week 4 this week b/c I have been having a lot of discomfort (not terribly painful but soreness) in my hips for a few weeks and I finally pinpointed the running as the main factor. I'm not concerned if it's something that might fade out over time with more endurance, but I was just afraid it might be a precursor to injury - who wants that? Anyway, curious to see if anyone else has had this issue.

You guys are doing an awesome job, keep up the great work!!

Ran for the second time this week - on Monday did the first day of week 4 - intervals of 4 min run/1 min walk, but found that I needed more rest, so the last 2 I went back to 3 min/2min intervals instead. Today I decided I want to feel strong at 3/2 again, so did those and felt great - challenged but not dead. We'll see if my hips continue to get sore afterwards - they did Monday - but as long as it subsides after a day or so and doesn't seem to get worse, I may stick with this every 2-3 days or so.

Hope everyone is enjoying the program, hang in there and don't hesitate to repeat weeks or slow down if necessary!!
