I always mix my tuna with light sour cream instead of mayo, it's low cal, low sodium, and very low fat!0

This is a recipe for tuna melts, it's from Cooking Light magazine - they are amazing and if you really want to cut calories you could always use a low cal bread
Ingredients
2 1/2 tablespoons olive oil (I use 1.5 tsp olive oil and it still tastes delicious and has less calories)
2 tablespoons thinly sliced shallots
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 (6-ounce) can solid white tuna in water, drained and flaked
1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 avocado (chopped)
1 cup cherry tomatoes, quartered
1/3 cup shredded Swiss cheese
2 (6-ounce) pieces French bread, halved lengthwise and toasted
Preparation
1. Preheat broiler to high.
2. Combine first 6 ingredients in a medium bowl, stirring well to coat. Place juice in a small bowl. Peel, seed, and chop avocado. Add avocado to juice; toss. Add avocado mixture and tomatoes to tuna mixture; toss well to combine. Sprinkle cheese evenly over cut sides of bread, and broil for 3 minutes or until cheese is bubbly. Place 1 bread slice, cheese side up, on each of 4 plates, and divide tuna mixture evenly among bread slices.0 -
One can of tuna
1 tablespoon chopped onion
1 tablespoon each of dill and sweet pickle relish
1 tablespoon low fat mayo
1/4 of an apple chopped

I mix mine with the Olive Oil Cracked Pepper Mayo, grape tomatoes, and green olives. The cracked pepper mayo is so good with the tuna!0

I haven't had tuna since starting MFP 3 months ago because I always had mine with mayo which I have now banned from my house. I totally love all these new ways for me to have my tuna.0

can of tuna
2 tbl reduced fat mayo
tsp lemon juice
"squirt" of yellow mustard
1/2 tbls sweet relish
sundried tomato and basil Mrs. Dash
dried minced onions
salt
pepper
1 small (i prefer medium) seeded chopped tomato
I eat it with light toast or by itself0 -
I have a recipe for tuna burgers that had Dijon mustard, lite italian dressing, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt and pepper as needed, formed into patties and browned. Leave out the egg and breadcrumbs and cooking and add a smidge of finely chopped onion and it is a nonmayo twist on tuna salad. Both are yummy0

i'm a purist with tuna, and don't add vegies and stuff. i make 3-4 cans at a time, add mayo, a little mustard, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and, my fave ingredient, True Lime powder. i put in less mayo than i think i'll need, and keep mixing long after it needs it, almost whipping it, so it doesn't need as much mayo. it's light, almost fluffy, savory, with a nice tang from the lime powder. i spread a Tbs and a half on whole wheat bread, and yum! and now i want a tuna sandwich...0

My favorite is:

I love tuna!!! There are some wonderful ideas listed that I can't wait to try. I will have tuna for breakfast this morning. This is what I do: a can of tuna (water packed), hard boiled egg whites, a few sliced olives, chopped fresh onion, a tablespoon of Onion Soup Mix with just enough lite mayo to mix it all together. Then I eat it on Romaine Lettuce leaves rolled up.0
-
I mix tuna, light miracle whip (or mayo), a tiny bit of creole mustard (optional--brown mustard substitutes for non-Louisiana folks), sweet relish, chopped pickled jalapeno, chopped red apple (fuji preferred), chopped red onion, and lots of fresh cracked black pepper. Eat on Orowheat bread rounds with sliced cucumber and fresh spinach. The hot from the peppers and the sweet/crunchy from the apples is where it's at. This mix is great on crackers too.0
-
Haha I guess I'm weird, I do half the amount of mayo I think i'll need and then like someone else said "over mix" it....then i add a splash or two of balsamic vinegar to give it a little bit of tang.
or tuna melts, there are a MILLION variations of those without even messing with the tuna!0 -
Love the ideas. I usually just use tuna, miracle whip, and sweet relish. Will change up now.0
