I am trying to measure myself with a tape measure so I can log it in. How do I measure my neck and bust? Is the bust supposed to be measured at the fullest part? And how do you measure the neck? I know this seems like basic knowledge but I have never measured myself like this before.

Measure the neck at the narrowest part (towards the middle) and the bust around the largest part.

I think what matters most it to measure in the exact same spot each time, so that you can get an accurate read on your progress! :flowerforyou:

I measure the neck with the tape slightly tapering in the front so it's just above the dent at the bottom between my collarbone.
For chest/breast I measure 3 places in this manner:
Wear no bra or the same bra, because different bras give different lift.
Check in the mirror to make sure the bra band is level.
Place the tape measure just below the bra band, using it as a guide to keep it even. - This is chest measurement.
Place the tape measure just above the bra band (finger thickness or so), using it as a guide again. I've found when I wear my sports bra this is my largest spot. Yours might vary- adjust in the front so the tape is at your largest spot then check the width above the bra band in back and use that each time.

I also measure the top of the chest by wrapping the tape just under my arms and I match this up with a seam on my bra in the same spot.

    Hope this helps!

You can take your measurements like tailors and dressmakers take them.
Neck should be measured at the narrowest point but pointed downwards into the hole between your collarbones.
Breast measurement is taken directly over nipples and the measuring tape must be parallel with the floor all around your body. If you have very large breasts measure them while in your bra (the least padded bra you own and use the same bra when you measure yourself).
Measure under boobs directly where they end on the chest. Measuring tape should be parallel with the floor. It is very useful for ladies to record this measurement since it shows more accurately the fat loss on the upper torso.
Waist measurement is taken on the narrowest point on the torso. For some it is directly over the bellybutton but mostly it is around 3 fingers over the bellybutton. Measuring tape is also parallel to the floor.
Hips are measured on the widest point of the torso. It is wise to take 3-4 measurements on different parts and take in account the biggest if you don't really know where is that widest point on your body. The parallel to the floor rule is applied here too.

Never ever put your fingers under the measuring tape. If you can measure yourself in front of a mirror to make sure that the measuring tape is parallel all around or ask someone to measure you.

As everyone pointed out the safest way to record your progress is to measure yourself every time on the same place and in the same way.
