I don't think this would really burn that many calories more than one set does. Unless your second layer is a lead apron haha.0

^Agreed!0 -
What? Why would this burn more calories?0
-
I would think that if you get overheated, you aren't going to have as much energy or be able to exercise as hard.0

Just because you sweat more doesn't mean you're burning more calories, it just means you're losing more water and getting more dehydrated.0 -
do you mean in terms of the warmth your body will create from all of the clothing? maybe wear a sauna suit, but that would only burn water weight.0
-
All it does is make you sweat more...losing fluids not lbs of fat.0
-
Wearing double clothing doesn't burn more calories, you just sweat more. Keep in mind that calories are a form of energy that your body needs to function. While sweating is just your body's way of keeping your skin cool when it over heats. No relation between the too. If they were related I'd be as thin as a toothpick down here in Florida...0

I heard those girls on Jersey Shore wear two bras so, it must work.0
-
wear some wrist and ankle weights, that will help more than 2 layers of clothes.0
-
So when you log your workouts, is there a section to choose what you wore?0
-
This is SOOOO true! Days when I need a huge burn, I dress up with so many layers of clothing I look homeless. But I'm getting that burn. You should try it every day for the next week. Take pics and post them too!0

I'm pretty sure the only thing you'll accomplish by doing this--is looking like a tool.0

No, unfortunately, I don't think they are wearing them to workout, well... It's a different KIND of workout...
I know lots of girls wear two sports bras to workout ;-)0 -
Yeah thats the thing about exercising outside in the summer. You take a 30 min walk and you sweat tons and in the back of your mind you think sweating = calorie burn. Nope. In the summer sweating = sweating = dehydration, not calorie burn.0

Actually, the opposite would be true. Generating heat burns more calories, so doing things that will prevent your body from cooling off properly would make it worse, it seems to me. However, if you drink cold beverages or take cold showers, your body has to heat things back up to maintain normal body temperature and prevent hypothermia--it's not a lot, but a few extra calories here and there. In his book, Dr. Dukan has a section dedicated to this topic, if you want to read more about it.0
