Good evening everyone. I'm glad so many of you are doing wonderful. I did something wonderful tonight. I was catching up on the Biggest Loser and really wanted a peice of cake after dinner. Well, watching this I ended up choosing popcorn instead. I really want to be under 200 by New Years and eating cake is not going to get me there. I also did alot of walking around at work today.

Amy, I was the same as you. My 30 was last week and I wanted to be under 200 for my 30th birthday and I started the same time as you. But, you know what? Life happens. And just think that if you didn't start when you did you wouldn't be where you are today and possibly could be higher. That's the little pep talk I've been giving myself.:flowerforyou:

And Mom, we can cross that 200 line together. Let's get there for New Year's and pull in New Year's being healthier and fabulously smaller. I mean look how far you've come! Your doing wonderful. I love you and I am so proud of what you've accomplished so far.:flowerforyou:

Pedal, I'm glad you are feeling better. Don't worry about eating healthy, just eat a little bit of something to keep you going. Hope you and the kids feel better tomorrow. Congrats on being normal again.:flowerforyou:

AmyLou, I remember the first time when I had alot of calories left and went into a convient store and told myself, just get a candy bar to help with calories. You know what I got? A Diet Dr. Pepper and that was it. I wasn't hungry and didn't want anything to eat and was giving myself permission to eat. Just fill up on healthier fuller foods. You'll get through this time.:flowerforyou:

rlh, you are so right. These chicks are wonderful and so insperational. I mean check out their numbers. They're great!!!:flowerforyou:

Kristen, I'm trying your chicken recipe tomorrow. I'm going to put it in the crock pot all day tomorrow while I'm at work. Hopefully everyone else will like it.:flowerforyou:

Here's what my menu had held for me.

B- Cream of Wheat with brown sugar and spenda
    S- Newtons thin crisp, berries
L- Banquet fried rice and egg roll
    S- Banana
D- Sour Cream Chicken Burritos (I'll have to post this one. It is good and hubby raves to his friends)
    S- Popcorn

Later and good night everyone, and remember WE ARE WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!

    SOUR CREAM CHICKEN BURRITOS

    Chicken Filling:
3 cups cooked, shredded or cubed, boneless skinless chicken breast
    1/2 cup chopped onion
    1-1/4-ounce package taco seasoning
    water

    Sauce:
10-3/4-oz. can reduced-fat cream of chicken soup
    1 cup nonfat sour cream
4-ounce can chopped green chilies (I don't use this, so optional)

    Enchiladas:
    10 large fat-free tortillas
1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

    Topping:
1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
    2 cups shredded lettuce
    1/2 cup chopped tomato
    1/4 cup chopped red onion

    1. In a large skillet, combine chicken, onion, and taco seasoning mix. Add water according to package directions, and simmer according to directions on taco seasoning packet.

    2. Preheat oven 350. In a medium bowl, stir together all ingredients for sauce. Place 1/3 of sauce mixture in bottom of 13" x 9" pan; set aside.

    3. Assemble burritos by dividing chicken mixture and 1 cup mozzarella cheese evenly among tortillas; roll tortillas, and place on sauce in pan.

    4. Pour remaining sauce mixture over burritos. Top with 1 cup mozzarella cheese. Bake for 20 minutes or until heated through. If made ahead and refrigerated, bake an additional 10 minutes.

    5. Combine lettuce, tomato and onion. Place on top of burritos.

    391 calories per serving: 11 g fat, 38 g protein, 33 g carb, 85 mg cholest., 807 mg sodium

I change different things around and substitute things or subtract things. Hope everyone likes. I do!
  • I make something similar to that with fat free cream cheese and Verde enchilada sauce! Yummy!

Thanks Becky, I can't wait to try that recipe!

And thanks for the advice Amy and Shanell! I had one of my favorite snacks last night before bed, a bowl of almonds and raisins, and I think that did the trick!!

Not in the best of moods today :frown: Not really sure why, I suppose just everything getting to me at once, but the end is in sight!!

On a happier note, some of you may remember during the last challenge I had to go to a wedding and took a dress with me that I absolutely love only to discover it didn't fit. Well, I tried it on the other day, and its still not perfect but it looks sooooo much better!! We have our department holiday party on Friday and they decided to make it a Black and White Cocktail Party so I'm so happy my pretty black dress doesn't look ridiculous on me anymore!! Next step, getting to where those pesky suits fit again!!!

Have a good day ladies, keep your heads up, you're all doing an amazing job!!

Morning ladies! Last night was good...I burned TONS of calories at the gym...got in 20 minutes on the elliptical, 45 minute Step class, and 15 minute Ab workout! I felt GREAT! Then home. Did indulge in some chocolate kisses, but counted them and had the spare calories. Then went grocery shopping. So...no extra snacking. Went to bed with some remaining calories, but it's okay.

    Here's the plan for today:

    Bananas - Raw, 1 medium (7" to 7-7/8" long) 105
Thomas' - Hearty Grains 100% Whole Wheat English Muffins, 1 muffin 120
    Total breakfast 379

    AM snacks
Kashi Tlc - Soft Baked Ripe Strawberry Cereal Bar, 1 bar (35 mg) 110
    Coffee - ground, 2 cup 0
Nestle Coffee Mate - Coffee Creamer (Sugar Free Vanilla Caramel), 2 tbsp 30
    Total AM snacks140

    Lunch
Diet Coke - Soft Drink, 12 fl. oz. 0

Kraft - Fat Free Singles - Swiss, 1 slice 30
    Total lunch 315

    Afternoon snacks
Apples - Raw, with skin, 1 medium (2-3/4" dia) (approx 3 per lb) 72
Kashi - TLC Chewy Granola Bars - Cherry Dark Chocolate, 1 bar 120
    Total afternoon snacks 192

    Dinner
HomeMade - Honey Lime Pork Chops, 1/4 of total 208
Potatoes - Red, flesh and skin, baked, 1 potato medium (2-1/4" to 3-1/4" dia) 154
Great Value - French Style Green Beans Frozen, 1 cup 30
    Total dinner 392

    PM snacks
Depends on what I burn at the gym!

    Total: 1,418
    Your Daily Goal: 1,200
Remaining: -218 (This is without exercise of course!)

Exercise plan: 1/2 hour run (or maybe bike...haven't decided yet), 1 hour BodyPump, and then I'm going to see how I feel (didn't get much sleep last night), but I may try and stay for Boot Camp after that...it's an hour also and it just may be too much for my body. We will see...

Well...gotta get to some work. Sorry not much time. Need to catch up on all the posts. I'll BBL!

Thanks for the support everyone. I've decided that I'm angry about something. I'm not sure what, but I'm taking it out on myself. I've eaten poorly, substituting cake (and I'm talking big slabs here) and ice cream for meals. Or eating when I am not even hungry, and eating when I wake up in the middle of the night. I ate half of a 6 inch round double layer cake yesterday in 3 different sessions.

Today, at the gym, I added extra weight to most of the machines I normally do, and I pushed myself through 3 sets on each (normally I only do 2). I mean, I was shaking when I was done with each one. I even pushed myself through some serious shoulder pain on a couple of the machines. Now that I'm done, I'm hoping I didn't hurt myself with that. But while I was doing it, I realized that I wanted to hurt myself... I don't know what is going on with me, with the anger and directing it at myself, but I'm hoping now that I have figured this much out, I can get past it.

    Hi everyone,

Amy, Glad you will be able to wear that pretty black dress. Remember to get photos. I agree about adding in almonds they are so healthy, but kind of high in calories this is a good opportunity to add in nuts for you.

Robin, This is a good chance for you to really think about what & why you might be making the bad choices. This is your opportunity to learn about yourself.

Kristen, Sounds like your doing good, keep it up.

I am just plain busy. I ran some errands today and had lunch out with my daughter. I did not count calories or plan my meals for today. I still have work to do in one more class among many other things. I think things will be busy until after Christmas. I am getting together Friday with my mom & sister for our traditional shopping & dinner. Saturday is a Christmas party with our friends.

I did do something positive; worked out at the community center for an hour. My lower back has been aching, so I took it easy but still got in a pretty good workout.

Hope everyone has a good day:flowerforyou:

    Hey ladies..

Im trying to get back on track now. Seems the past few weeks Ive not been as good keeping up my exercise and watching what I eat. Guess Im just in that stage where I am comfortable where Im at and just wanting to relax for awhile. I still have atleast 40lbs left to go, so Im trying to kick myself back into gear.

    Today foodwise:
    1- kashi cereal, almond milk
2- sushi (tuna, california roll, bbq eel, salmon) and a glass of chardonnay
    3- protein shake, chz stick
4- south beach wrap meal - southwest ckn or something
5- klondike ice cream thing, reduced fat, cals and sugar

My exercise today was 73 min at the gym..on the treadmill and the elliptical, didnt have time for weights. Burnt 850 cals.

Tomorrow Im going to the gym again, and will hopefully have time to work in some free weights!

Wish me luck ladies, Im trying to get back into the groove!!!!

Pedal, congrats on the big loss this week!! YAY!! :flowerforyou:
Kristin- So glad to see you are back to normal from your injury, and congrats on the loss!!
Deb- I find it hard to keep track when I am so busy as well, thats why Ive been a lil MIA here lately..I have 2 more finals to go and cant wait til I am done this semester!!!
Cathy and Shanell- You guys will breeze by 200 in no time :) Good work, and keep going strong!!!
Amylou- Congrats on the black dress fitting better!! Soon it will be too big- just keep up the great work!!

Okay thats all the personals I can remember right now, I got to get back to the books....Biology final is tomorrow!!

Rhiannon- congrats on the NORMAL range! I can't wait on that day. That deserves some celebration.

Robin- You are doing great, one bad day is allowed. Keep at it and Good luck this week

Amy- you have made progress. You are no longer 208... I know you can do it. Good luck and be careful buying workout clothes. If you like me I buy too many .... I just love shopping. Enjoy the progress you have made by addressing your health this year.

Becky- You can do it. I am glad you joined the group. Its fun getting to know you and everyone.

Tan- You can do it! Keep your eye on your goals.... at least one eye. We are all here for support. Try just focusing on one or two goals, like water drinking and 15 mins of fitness. Everything adds up. Good luck

AmyLou-I know school can be stressful. Good luck! Keep up the progress.

Katy- Good luck w/ finals. Stay focused! :)

Cathy & Shannel- A mother and daughter team is the BEST. I am proud of you ladies good luck!

Well as for me, I am doing well enough. Today I realized that I am starting to pick up some bad habits. I was actually thinking about eating after 8 pm tonight and not because I was hungry. I mean it was a struggle to keep myself out the kitchen. I said to myself, You aren't hungry so quit it! It worked tonight but I am worried about my near lapse in judgement. Maybe its because I'm a little stressed, worried about Mom and looking for a job. I also realized that when I reach my goal weight this issue could come up again. I have to conquer this. I sometimes which I never started this improper relationship with food. Anyway, thanks for listening and take care!!

Last night was good for me! Had some hersheys kisses again, but still went to bed with calories remaining. Another successful day! Good Morning Ladies,

Kristen, Love the new photo! Your hair looks darker & I like it on you. I must get a decent photo to use, maybe today. You are working so hard and stay so committed & it shows. You are really a wonderful leader and inspiration for this group. :flowerforyou:

Cathy, Yikes Men- I think you have to tell them exactly what you want. They can't or won't just figure it out themselves.

Pedal, Take the time you need to rest and renew. You will be refreshed and remotivated again. Staying on top of everything all the time is exhausting and it's hard to find the right balance. Hope your feeling energized again soon. :flowerforyou:

Tamm, It's too bad that you have the worries about your mom. Don't forget about the positive changes you have made. You are making progress; like stopping and thinking about what you are doing before you eat when not really hungry.

tjones7, It is a hard time of year to turn things around, but do your best so you don't regain the 5 pounds you lost. :flowerforyou:

Katy, Looks like you've gotten back to planning & posting your meal & exercise for the day again. That is really great to do, especially when you are so busy with finals. I need to get back to the planning.

So far today; I've had my coffee w/ creamer, oatmeal w/ brown sugar splenda, & banana. Just started on my water. I don't have a plan for the rest of the day yet, but a list of things to do so big that I probably won't get through that. If I don't have time to plan I should probably make myself some rules to follow so I don't regain any weight. I don't want to make this so hard on myself that I just throw it all away and say it's too hard & time consuming to do.

My rules if I don't have time to plan:

    Drink my water daily
Exercise at least 3-4 times per week (even if only a few minutes; after a few I should feel like I may as well do more since I've come this far)
Eat at least 1 fruit & veggie per day
Have soup and salad for lunch &/or dinner whenever possible
    Weigh in twice a week

I hope to stick to these rules as best I can through the holidays. I am really worried about gaining any more weight back. I will be very excited to really focus in January. I hope our group will stay together in 2009. I will keep in mind that tomorrow is a weigh in day again.

    Have a great day everyone:happy:

Deb...thank you! My hair isn't really any darker...it was wet (we were in the hot tub last night).

Gooood morning everyone. I WISH the tail end of this bug would just GO. It's not the bug so much as my energy. Oh, and appetite. But I'm feeling bloated too. Really dumb time to sneak a look at the scale... :grumble:

Kristin, you look wonderful! And good for such a nice work out!

Katy, you'll get back on track

Deb, I have the Polar F6 too and ADORE it.

    Cathy, frustrating...

Okay, I just had a moment but wanted to say hi. I hope to plan my meals for the day but I don't know what I'll be okay with eating. I was under yesterday by only 44 cals so I was pleased with that. I don't want to go days without getting much in!
I'll come back later at SOME point

That's OK Mom. If it turns out good, I'll make him make me a lower fat kind and sub the sugar for splenda and regular cream cheese with low fat. But, can't wait to try it!!!

I made a cheese cake on Thanksgiving with Splenda and low fat cream cheese.... No one could tell and it was fantastic! = ) So enjoy it!

Okay everybody... I am going to attempt to start logging my food.. but you gals are gonna yell at me - (I think).... I don't eat breakfast... I can't seem to make myself - the best I can do is a banana or an apple - and I have to say then I am WAY over on my sugars for the day... But then I find myselft struggling to make my calories for the day (only because of exercise of course).... I don't know.. I come home for lunch and do well.. usually a sandwich on whole wheat, with either veggies or low fat chips or a baked potatoe... dinner I might even over do. I am okay doing it like that or will my metabolism never speed up?

rlh....ok, i am confused on what you are talking about. do you count sugars? and you said not making your calories, do you mean by not eating them all? i make myself go to a certain amount (1470) that's my base. i don't (try) not to go over 1700, no matter what my exercise calories give me. this way if i have a hungry day i am ok. in fact i still have 200 to get in tonight. i will have some grapes. you need to eat something for breakfast....a piece of fruit would be fine. have a snack mid-moring to help take you to lunch. you will do fine. post your meals, we will help you, if you need it or make suggestions.

i am in such a good mood today. son is going to start paying me rent and he got the last of the parts for his car today, (hope it will run this weekend) and he got back the escrow money from his house. alls good here.

off to eat some grapes and put my jammies on. pray tomorrow is my last 5am morning......oh no, wedding ring is sliding off my finger. DH said we will get it resized when i hit goal. i have some fakes i can wear, so if i lose those it won't be nothing... need to put these in the jewlery box...a good sign....

Thanks Cathy - I don't count sugars.. just what the website tells me... and I usually go way over on sugar... but most of it is coming from fruit... so I don't know if that is a good sugar or what...

And congrats on the necessary resize... and the good luck for your son.

Cathy, a jewelry store might also be able to put a ring adjuster on it, it's just a tiny bar that goes across the inside of the ring, making it tighter. I had one on my engagement ring, I was a 7 1/2 when I got it, and by the time we were married, my finger was only a 6. After I got my wedding ring, I had the engagement ring resized to fit. Of course, having gained weight again, I haven't been able to wear them for the past 6 months to a year....

I think there's also plastic rings that go on the inside of your ring too, but I haven't seen or used those. You can do a search for ring adjustors on the internet and find them. Or go to your jewelery store.

bunny...yea, i have seen these before. mine has been welded together, so three bands wide. the set has been resized 3 times. it's now a solid gold section. no biggy i just dug out a fakey set.

idl. i don't have sugar on my food chart. i am a diabetic, so yes natural sugar (as in fruit) is a good sugar. i beleive that if it is natural or made natural your body knows what to do the nurtriants. i use butter not margaine for example.

    have a good night.
