Are String Bikinis Best for all Body Types?

Define "string bikini"
Mine has strings that tie on both sides of the bottoms and the top ties around my neck and behind my back - covers all essential parts. I would count mine as a string bikini. I prefer that type bc I can tie it as loose or as tight as I need to make sure it DOES flatter my body. The ones with no adjustable sides leaves me either hanging out all over or squeezed out/stuffed in all over.
Nothing is going to flatter *every* body type.0 -
How is "relatively small breast coverage" of any use to someone with size G boobs? Especially after 5 years of breastfeeding.
[Pictures this image, throws up a little bit in his mouth....]
When my son was 5, he walked and talked and even got his own milk out of the refigerator....
Not the same child. Dur. Various children, over 5 years.0 -

I was picturing Grown Ups when I read that.0 -
Well I think it depends. The bottoms in my pic are considered string bottoms, no? They tie on the sides. And the top that actually matches them, is a triangle top. I would consider that a string bikini. I think I look pretty good in it!
I don't have a huge set of knockers to be busting out of the top. When I see that, I don't think it's very flattering, but the men might! lol0 -
String bikini bottoms are the most flattering on me since I'm tall, all legs and my waist shape is flat but wider therefore the lower the bikini bottom and the narrower the side straps the more slimming it looks on me. I will ONLY wear this style bottom unless I am at a waterpark going on slides, then you are just asking for trouble, LOL!
Triangle string-bikini tops however I feel only look ok on people with small chests where they can properly fit into the cups. Even getting a larger size triangle top for larger busts results in unnatural squishing and shapes unless you have implants.
I like halter tops best with wide straps at the neck, thin on the back.0 -
I'd say no. There are plenty of women who shouldn't be wearing swimwear all together.0

I mean the kind that are adjustable with little bows on the side, typically from VS.0 -

NO!!!!! There are not many women they are flattering on. That was 99% of the bathing suits I saw sold in stores this year which is sad because they are not flattering!0

I think your wife was referring to a body that would wear a bikini in the first place. Assuming someone is in shape enough to wear a bikini, I see what your wife is saying. Assuming a string bikini is in the right size to be worn, it can be the most flattering because you tie it to cover you and fit you properly. Many bottoms cut in to you and make skin/fat go over and under the edges, but string bikinis are never that tight, etc. In these instances, I agree.0

I certainly wouldn't be caught dead in a bikini, let alone a string bikini! I think they are flattering if you are a tiny little thing, but honestly - would you like to see a 250 lb woman in a string bikini?:ohwell:0

I have to say NO!
I am very hippy and curvy, and it is not the most flattering on me. I think if you are thicker through your hips, a wider bottom looks better. Something with at least an inch to help those hips out.
Remember, those with hips, don't need help making them look bigger! LOL0 -
I think many two pieces are not as flattering as a string bikini because other two pieces cinch and pinch more. Maybe that's the point I was trying to make before.0

Of the bikini's I have tried, http://www.bravissimo.com/products/sale/swimwear/bikinis/sun-seeker-bikini-top/cobalt-teal/gw02ct/?show=16&sort=1 is by far the most flattering on me. With the short bottoms, not the little ones. I look ****e in a string bikini and did even at 18 years old, weighing 112lbs.0
