Hey, what is the calories challenge?
Also, how is everyone doing on this? I'm worn out! But it's a good feeling every time I finish the workouts. Are you guys having a good time with this?0 -

Staying under calorie limit for the day.

Oh ok!
That's good! I think we've got a good team. I'd like to have everyone post on this thread more for the community aspect of it... I'd like to get to know our teammates!0 -

I don't have knee problems, but I could not bear crawl for 5 minutes. Instead, I held the pose--this still was hard work, but a little easier than walking it. Do you think this would work for your knees?0 -
Yes we need to develop our little community, or are we just all so worn out from doing the dailly challenges!!! LOL!
How about a little 'intro'

Interesting fact:
Name: Rachel or Rach
Location: Auckland, New Zealand
I am originally from Yorkshire in the UK, but have been living in NZ for 9 years now.
CW : 77.7kg or 171lb
GW : 68kg or 150lb
Workouts: I do bootcamp 3 mornings (5.45am!) a week, and then I run 3 of the other days. Spring is almost here in NZ and so soon I'll be training for Triathlons again, so I'll be biking and swimming every week. I have a rest day every week.
Food facts : I'm vegetarian, I started eating fish when I was pregnant, but I'm still not very good at it! I like to have a chunk or two of chocolate every day.
Interesting fact : My weight loss journey started with an odd cartoon like dream, where I fell off the edge of a cliff and ended up holding onto a branch sticking out of the side of the cliff (in a cartoon style), but I was too heavy or not strong enough and I couldn't pull myself up or hold myself there and so I fell. I was thinking about this the other day, and I'm so much fitter and stronger, but I'm still not convinced that I could support myself like that for long!!0 -
Great idea!
Name: Lane
Location: North Carolina
CW: 258.8lbs
GW: 160lbs
workouts: I do some form of cardio 6 days a week, at least 30 mins. When I go to the gym, I usually do a min of 30 mins on the elliptical and then I do strength training (one day upper body, next day lower body). Once I get down to 250lbs I am going to start C25K, even though I have already started adding jogs.
Foodfacts: i love food, obviously lol.... but I am proud of myself for making better food choices and I am learning to love foods (like spinach) that I never even considered trying before.
Interesting fact: I have always been overweight...as long as I remember. I remember looking at my Kindergarten pics and I was the big girl... It has always been like that. I was pushing 200 lbs when I started HS. I just gradually have gained throughout the years. I was 269 when I got pregnant with my son and lost all of that weight within 2 wks of having him 3 1/2 years ago. Something just finally clicked with me and with a SW of 302 on May 10th of this year I am steadily losing weight and living more healthy and active lifestyle... and I've never been happier with myself!!
I am a 9-1-1 Telecommunicator and work 12 hous shifts (7am-7pm) so along with the long hours and stress.... I am stuck at a console for 12 hours. We do have the option to stand if we want, thank goodness! I get up and walk around every chance I get and the massive amounts of water I drink gives me many excuses for quick bathroom breaks lol0 -
what would be a good alt exercise for the bear crawl? with my knees it's just ain't gonna happen...
I break it up into mintues bc I can't do 5 at once0 -
Love this idea!!!
Name: Nicole
Location:. I was born & raised in Southeast TN (great place to grow up) then moved to Boston, MA for a year & loved it!! Now I'm in Cary, NC for now. My husbands job can move us from time to time.
CW: 144.8
GW: 120
Workouts: I love my gym esp.. the Elliptical!! I crank up the levels for high calorie burn. I also do the C25K, Spin, Yoga, Strength training, & I'm looking for a 5k I feel comfortable doing!
Foodfacts: Pizza is a absolute fav!! I try to cut back on the things I love rather than giving them up because that would make me hate the process of losing weight. I'm realizing that now that I've been cutting back & my stomach is shrinking back to normal size & it doesn't take as much to fill me up
Interesting fact: I was always 115-120 until after my second baby. I lost the weight easily but it slowly kept creeping up on me over the past 9 years. Hitting 150 was a major eye opener because even being 9 months pregnant with either of my kids I only weighed 143 at the max. I'm really happy about the journey I'm on losing weight. MFP & MFP friends had a big part in it!! Thanks to all of you that keep encoraging me to do better!!
Random Facts: I love being a Mom & Wife. Family comes first no matter what!! I'm a total sports freak! Fav teams... College football-Alabama, NFL-Patriots, MLB-Red Sox, Basketball-Celtics, Hockey-Bruins!! I love to travel, photography, painting, reading, music, movies, swimming, snowboarding, tubing, hiking in the mountains, laying on the beach... & more!0 -
Name: Brittany
Location: Cary, NC
CW 199.4
GW 140-145
workouts: I run/walk 30 minutes twice a week (trying to get up to 3 miles in this time. I'm currently at 2.15 in 30 minutes). I have Wii Biggest Loser and Wii Fit Plus that I try to do 2 - 3 times per week. I play tennis with a friend. And I do this Challenge! It has definitely been challenging. This is the first strength program I've ever stuck to and it's wearing me out, but I can feel myself getting stronger
Foodfacts: I've never eaten that much bad food in my adult life. As a kid, dinners usually consisted of meat and potatoes or meatsauce and noodles. Salad was a bad word. But I love fresh veggies and fruit and I'm developing a love of cooking. I love to find recipes online and try them out... There aren't any I haven't liked so far! But my husband is a different story. lol
Interesting fact: I have a metabolic disorder (CPT2) where I'm missing an enzyme that breaks fatty acids into energy. This means that once I burn through easily-available energy like carbs and medium-chain fatty acids, my body can't break down the long-chain fatty acids. So to find energy, it starts to break down muscle. This hurts. A lot. And it comes on fast. I did our workout yesterday, then went to play tennis. I wasn't out there playing for 30 minutes before I felt it start to happen. It's like delayed-onset muscle soreness x5 and not delayed at all. It happens during workouts. It's so frustrating! I love to be active and play as much as possible, but right now, my body prevents me from doing this. One major reason I want to be fit is so that it takes a lot more strain on my body to cause this pain. I always think...if I didn't have this disorder, I would have always been in shape. But I've got to work with what I've been given. So I take from this a lesson: never take your body for granted. Use it, play with it, feed it well. And that's what I'm doing0 -

Hello everyone! Great idea!
Name: Jackie or Jax
Location: Vacaville, CA
CW : 131.6
GW : 126
workouts: Mostly the treadmill- different programs according to my time limits or mood of the day-, walks w/hubby, and the challenges we are given
Foodfacts: I am a muncher...love to nibble on stuff all day. I have become a better eater over the last year or so, but I NEVER turn down ice cream or coffee!!
Interesting fact: I didn't really want to start using MFP..fought it actually. My hubby joined first, and was all over this site all the time!! He lost 18 pounds, and really started eating different things...so I decided to give it a try. Now I am the one all over this site, and I LOVE it! So many supportive people, and I'm loving the challenges!!
Random fact: I have five babies- the oldest is 25 with a baby girl of her own, and my youngest are a set of 7 year old twins with one baby boy stuck in the middle of the 4 girls!! They are the ones that push me to be better...I want to be able to play with all of my childrens babies as they come along!0 -
i got all excited when i saw toe touches! i was thinking old school p.e. class ones but shoulda known better! hahaha!0
-
Wow Brittany your CPT2 sounds full on.
Jackie - I have the same issue with icecream ... I can control my coffee intake, but would never say no to a cuppa (tea!)
Nicole - I love your love to do list, but quite honestly since having kids I haven't really managed to do or enjoy those things!! I've read at most 6 books (I used to devour books), I've snowboarded less than 20 times ... and many of those have been spent 'watching' little people ski! The only painting I've done I haven't had much of a turn ... maybe that's not true, I painted stuff for the kid's rooms ... Hiking in the mountains isn't so much fun when you know you'll have to carry 20kgs on the way back! I don't enjoy laying on the beach as usually someone is digging too close to me and insisting I help!! One day I shall enjoy these things again!!
Well I had a bad few days at the end of last week, not sure why but my motivation was very low. All good to go again now, inconsistency is my big issue, but I'm hoping I'm going to kick that. Spring is here in NZ, summer just round the corner ... I want to be at my goal weight by Christmas! Come on 'Slim Expectations' lets do it!! WOOOOOHOOOO!0 -

My kids are 9 & 13 so doing these things are easier as they get older of course but I'm really blessed to have kids that love doing all these things with me. Makes it better when it's shared with the people you love the most!0 -
We lost a member but don't worry because We have a new memeber!!
Bishop06040 -
Hello everyone! How are you doing on the challenges? I am doing okay, had a few days where I got cardio in, but not the strength training. Hubby left to go out of town, and of course I now have a sick baby at home! She is feeling better, so just hoping her twin isn't next!!
Nicole - who did we lose? Welcome to our new member!!
Rachel - giving up coffee...trying to, this week. I am lucky cuz I can switch to tea easily - my Mom was Scottish so I grew up having tea. This will be better, since I won't be adding some coffee to my creamer!!
Have a wonderful day!!0 -
