Will Chewing Gum kill me?

I chew gum to curb suger cravings. Works well for me.
That didn't answer the question. The question is are you dead yet? If so, how long did it take to kill you? Pay attention.
So, I'm eating a crunchy pretzel right now, and this made me laugh so hard that crumbs went *all* over my desk. I kind of enhaled some too. Do you think preztel crumb inhalation will kill me?0 -
next time might i suggest google
Google's too big. If he tried to chew it he might choke.0 -
This might be gross, but I've found that chewing that much gum can REALLY mess with my digestion/gastrointestinal health. I was going through at least a pack a day of Trident White Pina Colada for a while, especially while at my desk at work. I was feeling bloated and gassy for a long time, and after ruling out yogurt and anything else I usually eat for lunch during the week, I stopped with the gum. It was hard, being a former smoker, but now I have way fewer problems. Just something to consider...0

If you drink water through your nose you should be ok.0 -
No this is not a serious thread but I was sure I'd get some serious answers.
I heard that chewing gum can cause gastro intestinal problems and I was recently lectured by a coworker about the dangers of saccharin (whatever).
If you look up Xylitol, too much can cause diarhea.
So the heart of the question is how bad is chewing gum for you?0 -
Yes. You will get Super-Aids from artificial sweeteners.

i suspect you'll live.
You don't know that. Are you a doctor or something?
I'm not a doctor, but I play one on MFP.
I am a doctor, but not the kind that helps people.
So you're the kind that helps... animal, vegetable, mineral...0 -

Short answer, no. Xylitol is a sugar substitute that is useful for fighting the bacteria that cause cavities. As for the phenylalanine unless you are a Phenylketonuric or sensitive to aspartame, then I wouldn't worry too much about it. Maybe drop it down to a pack a day if you are that concerned or switch to celery sticks...0

Gum is terrible for weight loss. If you swallow it, then it's in your body for YEARS! You can kiss your loss goodbye then. Gum is sticky. It'll stick to all the fat and junk you eat. The only way to lose weight once you swallow gum is to just wait 7 years for it to leave your body. Then all the stuff it's stuck to will leave too. Definitely not fast results!0

um...likely not. chew away! (unless you plan on chewing like Violet from Willy Wonka)

Haha, it's a quote from Randy Pausch (you probably heard of "The Last Lecture.") He had a PhD in computer science, and his mom always used to introduce him: "This is my son Randy. He's a doctor...but not the kind that helps people."0
