Thanks everyone for your responses and from what I can see here is that every person who has accually tryed it loved it. I have huge arms and saw one for 20 bucks so I may try it and see if it does anything for these arms, I am thinking it can hurt anything!!!!

    But push ups are free!!!

Or make your own shake weight - fill a plastic screw top bottle with water and shake.

first off, no one lost 100 pounds by using the shake weight alone. to being with, 70-90% of weight loss comes from what you eat...not from exercise. exercise helps tone you up so you don't have a bunch of loose skin after losing the weight....and muscle will burn a few extra calories than fat (although not as many as you probably have read).

I haven't used the shake weight, but I know someone who uses it and has told me that "its a great workout for your arms and shoulders". if that's what you're hoping for, then that's what you'll get. of course, you'll want to supplement with other exercises for the rest of your body.
  • It works very well, but really is very tiring. It's monotonous, and looks very silly. I just stick to regular weights, and body weight training lol

I'm going to admit that I've used it before and would recommend it. You can really feel it tensing your muscles. It's hard to keep it up for very long at all. And I like using it to tone up that part of the arm the connects the shoulder/arm pit to the side boob. I'm sure the ladies know what i'm talking about.

i think all women want that shoulder/armpit/back of arm wing to go away. and damnit it a shake weight that makes you look like you're doing something xrated might help that specific area... then YEAH, i wanna try it! no one expects a miracle, but it'd be great if it helps. That's a really hard area to tone up

I use it daily. Best money I've ever spent. I have strengthened my core considerable, increased my forearm strength, and my biceps and triceps have bulked up. I don't even go to the gym anymore. I do all of my strength training with the shake weight, and get my cardio from doing jumping jacks.

so... all I have to do is jumping jacks and use a shake weight regularly... and that will do everything my workout routine does now?!

HOLY CRAP! *runs to walmart with $20*

Or juice concentrate, and then you can shake the big bottle, and fill the can and shake that too.
