    Good morning ladies and welcome to Week 5!!

    No time to post anything except update, I have got to get to work! Will post later when I get home!!

    Im down 2.4lbs this week to weigh in at 175.2!! Only 1.2lbs left til I reach this challenges goal!! Not sure if I will make it, Im leaving to go on vacation Friday night, but if I can maintain the 175.2 while on vacation I will be thrilled!!!

    everyone looks GREAT.....oh what motivation for me.....
    cold here this morning.....going to do the wii "my fitness coach" this morning. son bought it for me for Christmas and knew i wanted it, so he gave it to me early. he does that all the time. anyway son and DH have used it and now complain that their legs, arms, whatever hurt. son all day yesterday his legs were sore. this morning as i waking up, (DH works nights so he had been in bed just a couple hours) he rolls over and in his sleep says "ouch". I just smiled. i think it great they are doing these workouts. hope they keep it up. this will be my first one this morning. i did the gym yesterday.

    i am down 1.8. won't make this challenges goal, but, that's ok. the light at 199 is brighter and brighter.

    Goals for this week:
    1. No gain!!! We have Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas brunch, Christmas dinner, and then the day after is my mother in laws 50th birthday, then Saturday is my parents Christmas party! ARGH!:grumble: This is going to be a challenge and so my biggest goal for the week!
    2. Get in my workouts with missing ONLY Christmas day (as the gym is closed and we are VERY busy!)
    3. Drink LOTS and LOTS of water!!!!!

    Good Morning Ladies,

    You are all doing so well. I wish I had what it takes to make it through the season without gaining, but hopefully I will be able to learn something from this frustrating experience. I am up quite a bit. I honestly don't know why I can't seem to keep focused on my goal. I have started that all or nothing thinking again; I'll start my healthy lifestyle after the holidays, so I can splurge right now and eat the things I won't allow myself after the holidays.

    Anyway , I am very impressed with all of your successes and hope to learn from all of you wonderful women. Have a great holiday.:flowerforyou:

    Deb...you WILL get through this. I still wouldn't let yourself go to overboard around the holidays, but do enjoy the things you want to. Remember...this isn't the last Christmas...there will be more...so you will need to face these challenges again in the future. Just take things one step at a time...like, "I'll only have ONE slice of pie" or "I WON'T take any second helpings of mashed potatos". It's those little steps that end up making a BIG difference! You can get through this, my dear...you CAN and you WILL!!!!

    i totally agree with kisitin. these darn holidays keep coming around every year at the same time. we really need to learn to work through them. that's why we are here together is to help each other work through them. i don't want anyone to give up. just keeping some of the changes you have learned in your journey will keep you at least maintaining. we can do this.

    i saw something on a church billboard yesterday....."LIFE IS A GIFT, LIVE LIFE".....to me i took from that as not being fit i was not living my life to it's fullest. i was not happy. i didn't feel good about myself. now thinking of that saying is telling me to get on with life and if i eat or i should say enjoy life a little too much it' ok. i want to enjoy life not let it pass me by. it's the only chance i have.

    i just did 45 mins of the new wii fitness coach and burned 470 calories. she had me doing step, arobics, weights. i loved it. will be using this allot on my no gym days.

    time to shower and dress. need to clean house today.

    I am just getting ready for lunch. Been trying to figure out what to make for dinner tonight before posting my meals, but I still don't know. I'm thawing some ground turkey and would like to try the following recipe, but I honestly don't know if I have a can of corn and I only have shredded mozzarella, so I may be making a variation of this recipe.

    Fiesta Turkey Pie
    1 lb. Ground Turkey
    1 Cup Salsa
    1 Can Reduced Fat Crescent Rolls
    1 (15 oz.) Can Whole Kernel Corn, drained
    1/4 Cup Fat Free Cheddar Cheese
    Black Pepper and Cayenne Pepper to taste

    Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Cook turkey in a nonstick skillet over medium heat until it's no longer pink. Stir in salsa and corn. Heat until most of the liquid from the salsa has evaporated. Press Crescent dough onto bottom and up the sides of a 9" deep dish pie plate to form a crust. Bake the crust until it is golden brown. Spread the turkey mixture evenly into crust, and sprinkle with cheese. Return to oven until cheese is melted.

    Serves: 6
    Per Serving: 313 Calories; 13g Fat (36.7% calories from fat); 19g Protein; 30g Carbohydrate; 2g Dietary Fiber; 60mg Cholesterol; 767mg Sodium. Exchanges: 1/2 Grain (Starch); 2 Lean Meat; 1/2 Vegetable; 0 Fat. WWP: 7 (www.AimeesAdventures.com)

    Since this is my last day at work this week, I don't know how much I will be on the computer. So, I thought I'd list some of the plans for the next few days:

    Wednesday (Christmas Eve)
    Breakfast and lunch will be normal.
    Planning on going to a spinning class (1 hour) and BodyPump (1 hour) in the morning.
    Dinner is usually finger-type foods and my husbands grandparents. Then we head to his parents house to open gifts there...usually more food also...but I will have plenty of extra calories!

    Thursday (Christmas Day)
    The gym is closed! :(
    I will eat a normal breakfast before we head to Michael's parents house again...they do stocking stuffers (I THINK this is still the plan...not for sure...they may do it all Christmas Eve this year).
    Then we head to my parents house...so an early dinner there, and finger foods I think...plus I think they do brunch, but need to confirm that...so depending on what is going on, I may NOT eat breakfast earlier...I guess I need to make some calls!:wink::laugh:
    Dinner there shouldn't be too bad, however with no exercise, this will be my day going over for sure! :(

    Friday
    I will go to a step class that morning at the gym, plus maybe some elliptical work!
    Breakfast and lunch will be normal.
    Dinner is up in the air...it's my mother-in-laws 50th birthday...so who knows! But I will have calories to spare!

    Saturday
    Spinning in the morning (1 hour) and some circuit weight training (30 minutes).
    Breakfast and lunch will be normal.
    Then it's my parents annual Christmas party with TONS of finger foods and desserts...but I should have plenty of extra calories so should be fine!

    Sunday
    Spinning in the morning (1 hour).
    Breakfast, lunch, AND dinner SHOULD be normal! Plus the normal laundry and cleaning! Back to routine!

    That's what I know...just thought I'd post it now!

    Plateaus suck unmercifully, but it is nothing but pure joy when you come off of one. I'd almost swear the gym scale must be broke. I'm down 3lbs this week. I'm amazed.

    This was the motivation I needed to keep moving through Christmas without gorging myself. Moderation and exercise and I'll make it right on through.

    I wish you all the Merriest of Christmases, the Happiest of Hanukkahs, and all the other holiday greetings that currently escape my head.

    So... Holding steady. I'm pretty happy with that, since I haven't been to the gym in a week and a half, and have been in a black mood for the past couple. I really do dislike the holidays, and most of the crud that goes with them.

    On a brighter note, what a beautiful picture Lauryn! And woot woot for breaking the plateau!

    Cathy, a wii fit was on my wish list for Christmas, but unless he's really fooling me (and it has happened before) my DH forgot it. lol

    just did my gym workout. was going to do it at home decided i really wanted to go to the gym. burned 650. was shooting for 800, but, that's ok. haveing ham sandwiches at shanells tonight. burned enough for that.
    well, off to shower and find something to wear. so hard to decided what to wear, everything fits, now my problem is it's too big :bigsmile:
