I heard on the John Tesh radio show that the best way to figure out how many calories to consume per day is based on this formula. You will need to alter it as you gain or lose any weight. It is a simple formula that makes sense. Hope this helps some people out. I found that when I let the computer decide for me, I was not getting enough and I was still hungry. So I am sticking with this formula from now on.

You're not going to lose weight then....what you SHOULD do...is go with what was suggested before by MFP but make sure you are eating a good portion of lean protein and fiber...those are the things that make you feel FULL. Try it before you go and just add a bunch of calories because John Tesh thinks it's a good idea.

And I actually heard it was times your ideal weight by ten - that's how many calories you should eat - and once you hit that weight...that's how many you continue to eat. Simple and makes sense.

But that would mean I would have to eat 1250 calories forever and that doesn't sound fun.

i've also heard of this one where you divide your height by your average water intake then subtract your daily workouts then you multiply that number by 4.2... then you add on your weight... then you must divide by your wrist size...

    i hear it's very accurate.

as long as there's a "42" in there, i'm sure it all checks out.
