BUFFETS! Love em or hate em?

Haven't been to one since April. Don't plan to ever enter one again.0

I love the indian and chinese buffets in my neighborhood. My problem is I love them too much.
It's really hard to not just keep going back for more, especially the cheesy naan bread since I haven't found any that good anywhere else so if we're going I tend to gorge on the stuff.0 -
 If friends wanted to go out for dinner for an all you can eat buffet I would go along if no other option as for me they are a waste of time. I cannot eat alot in one sitting. I eat a minium of 6 times a day and the size of the meals are never massive. If it was a free buffet then thats ok cos I would only be eating a small amount anyway. When you are paying for the 'all you can eat' style buffets I alway feel like I am paying for way more than I would actually eat.
I think they are great for kids that burn of tons of calories during the day in the holidays etc (as long as they are choosing the right type of food from the buffet of course). Great value for money if you have starving hungry growing boys/girls.0 -
Hate them. A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips.0

Hate em. They gross me out. Who knows who sneezed on what or touched what. Yuck0

Love the variety, but as hard as I try not to, I always overeat. There are just too many things that I like, especially the desserts.0

Depends on the buffet. I hate Old Country buffet. I love Indian Food buffets because they offer a lot of good food choices. There is a place close to where I work that has a buffet lunch for around $7. I head t the Mongolian Grill part and load up on veggies and chicken and some beef, watch them grill it and eat a veggie heavy lunch. I also pick up some of the sushi. I will sneak a little of the other stuff, but mostly it is the kind of food I want to eat to be healthy. I totally stay away from the desserts and I drink unsweetened tea or water.0

Hate em. For some reason I seem to think that I have to have some of everything.0

Love them!
As I am living in Bangkok they haven a lot of great buffets for a very reasonable price. Since I started with MFP I am more focused on Seafood and Sushi Buffets. Additional rule for me is that I have to walk back home after the buffet, what is mostly between 5 to 10 miles.0 -
Golden Corral is my diet nightmare.
We don't really do buffets anymore though. I physically cannot eat enough to even make it a good value because i'm so used to eating 400 - 500 calories at a time.0 -
I used to love them but wouldn't go near one now..I would eat too much for sure.0

I think they're overpriced for the amount of food that I usually eat.... and on top of that, there are more unhealthy things than healthy ones. I put it in the dislike category.

Went to Golden Corral last week. I tried my best to control what I had, but the calories were still higher than I would have liked. I still made as good of choices possible & came under my calorie goal.0 -
I love them. I'm usually over my goal on days that I go but I'm fine with that. I don't go that often and when I do I enjoy it. I love being able to either try new things or just have a couple of bites of something I've been sort of craving.0

I have only been to a buffet once in the past two years I believe. I don't like them anymore because I get full way too fast!0

Last time I went to a large chain buffet place it was on a Sunday. After church crowd. It was so crowded you had to wait in line to get anything. I had this sudden vision of us not being humans at a buffet, but swine at a trough. I don't think I'll go back.0

Ugh, I think they are so nasty. I am able to go to a buffet w/o stuffing myself silly but I avoid them as much as possible.
Bad tasting poorly made food that's been sitting for who knows how long and full of germs....barf!
My parents occasionally invite us out to dinner and its always to a buffet, I almost always decline (Other then when it was my Grandma's 80th birthday or something similar)
I know, restaurants in general can be nasty but the thought of buffets make me gag.0 -
I love buffets because I can have tiny portions of everything I want Usually when you order a meal in a non-buffet place you get a ginormous portion that I never eat, even with leftovers at home... I wish things came in smaller portions and buffets are great for that
I'm actually not quoting you, I just wanted you to know that your ticker is epic!0 -
Hate! But for me, it's a food safety & other people's germs issue. LOL Buffets just kind of gross me out.
Yep. Me too.0
