Scale Smashers Support (closed thread)

Hey Ladies... thought I'd get a thread going for us. I'm so excited to get this challenge started! I know I recognize a lot of the people on this team but for those newbees maybe we should all introduce ourselves.

My name is Kasi. I am a mom of 4 kids and manage a small corner bar. I'm usually pretty busy but in my spare time I like to camp, snowboard, fish, really anything outdoors makes me happy. I found MFP when I was 172lbs (April 2011) and was instantly hook. I love all the support and motivation that comes along with this site. I'm hoping by the end of this challenge to be somewhere around 130lbs and believe me it is totally possible given the encouragement everyone gets in this game. Good Luck everyone:drinker:

Hi all! Kasi thanks for getting this started.

I am Anne, a mom of two, the newest being 9 weeks old. Its harder this time around to get the weight off. Ideally I will be right around 130 at the end of this competition.

I started the C25K program 5 weeks ago now, however I am just starting week 4 because I felt the need to repeat week 3.

Really looking forward to this competition...thanks in advance for all of the support!

Hello fellow Scale Smashers! I hope my scale gets smashed in a good way as a result of this comp! I did Round 1 of the Fit N Trim and didn't fare too well, hoping to do better this time.

My name is Katie, I'm a wife, mommy of 3 wild boys (and trust me, that's putting it MILDLY), full-time employee, full-time student, dog lover and obsessive control freak. Too bad the ONLY thing I can't seem to control is my weight! :grumble: I've been yo-yoing for the past year, got down to about 175 and am back up to almost 200! :noway: I'm trying, I just tend to put everything BESIDES my weight loss first. Trying to change that....

For exercise I enjoy running outside, biking and spinning. I recently re-started Jillian's 30 Day Shred because it's a quick, but GOOD, workout. It's really hard for me to find time and energy to exercise between work, school and the family - so PLEASE give me a hard time if I appear to be slipping!

    Now....lets SMASH SOME SCALES!

I completed it about a year ago, it's a good program to add to supplement something else like running. I'm hoping now that the weather is cooling down I can resume my outdoor runs (before it gets TOO cold!)

    Mornin Scale Smashers!

I'm super pumped for this competition as the last one I had to drop. My name is Jessica, I'm a full time mom of a rambunctious 2 1/2 y/o named Oliva as well as a 7 month old Alaskan Shepherd (even worse than the kid sometimes!). I've been with mfp since 2009 and got as low as 138- then got a super stressful job in the worse place ever for a stress eater.... A BAKERY! We're in the beginnings of a move from WI to TX and my goal is to use any stress in my exercise instead of eating!!! Also wanna drop as much as I can by Nov for the hotter climate for a hotter body! (We'll be in Houston)

Also need to push myself as I'm joining Kim the 17th for Warrior Dash!

Lookin forward to smashin our scales as well as blowin the other teams outta the water!

    Hey there!

I'm Amy, but I'm known as "Dot" around these parts. I've been on MFP for a little under a year. I'm a teacher in a middle school, mom to two kids, wife, and I'm in school to get my Educational Specialist degree. I lost almost 10 pounds last school year doing Turbo Fire and really watching my intake, but over the summer it all found me!

I'm hoping to smash the scale and get my motivation back!!!!

    Hello to all!
My name is Chris, I am a mother of a very active little 17mo old boy (Ethan). I am married to the man of my dreams for 3 years. I gained 70lbs when I was pregnant and never ever want to be this heavy again! I work with Kim who introduced me to MFP (so bare with me while i figure this out) and I am very motivated to getting rid of this weight, I just need a little support other than my hubby.

What a great team name - so excited to be part of the team!

Congrats on the new baby! My youngest just started kindergarden today. No more for me but I hope one of my siblings have another soon. My nephew is having a baby but not so sure the baby momma with be too open with sharing her. I sincerely hope I'm wrong but they are so young and she is so controlling. That's depressing... sorry! Welcome to the challenge :flowerforyou:

Hey there Scale Smashers!!! My name is Maria and I have been in all 3 competitions so far - won the first one :drinker: :flowerforyou: (BRAGGING MOMENT) :blushing: and I'm planning on working really, really hard again. My motivation is back up and I'm really motivated to see the 150's for the first time in my adult life. So help me out please by kicking me in the rear if I talk about donuts, cake, pastries, bars or buffets. LOL

I'm a full-time student for the first time in 15 years - going back to school for physical therapy and LOVING it. I live in SE MN and personally know impmommy and healthymomwannabe from the competition (we all live 10 minutes from each other) and they are wonderful, sweet girls. Hmmmm...what else.......I have 3 amazing and very funny children - ages 10, 9 and 6 and 2 dogs - a goldendoodle and a boston terrior...I have 2 cats too - crazy about animals. Oh...and a fun-loving husband of 13 years who was my high school sweetheart.

I am trying to keep up with running/ elliptical, etc and when I get to the 150's I would really like to start p90x. I have run 10 races in the last 2 years and am REALLY wanting to run one in under 30 minutes.

That's about it! Soooo nice to meet you all and I will be sending you a friend request so watch out for it!!

    Nice to meet you all!!!

Wondering what your strategies are for reducing calories?

I am exercising every other day.

Eating - I get an extra 500 cal per day because I am breastfeeding, but I am not sure if I really burn that many, so I am planning on staying close to my calorie goal every day - but just slightly under.

I don't have any "diet" plans but to reduce my portion sizes, and I'm already not eating dairy because it causes my son issues right now. (a blessing in disguise I guess - because I LOVE cheese and yogurt!!!)

I do alright with my calorie intake... at this point I need to work on exercising more regularly. I was doing super good but these last few weeks have really been crappy.

My "diet plan" is basically watching my portions, limiting carbs and no eating past 7 pm!! lol Of course with at the very least a week 6 days a week- Monday tends to be my rest day however that may have to change!

the lushy is the hardest for me right now!!! Good thing I don't have anything in the house.... but darn it's hard to not drive to the store!!!

But I was lushy enough last night for our wonderful defiance over the Saints!!

I went over yesterday but I won't let it happen again - the nature of the beast I'm afraid! Will be a bit lushy tomorrow, so I will be sure that I stay under for breakfast and lunch!

Thanks for the support in doing this!

Oh - and even with overdoing it I am still down a pound from Wednesday!!! Woohoo! I plan on exercising tonight - W4D2 of C25K...so might have to have one glass of wine tonight too :)

Scale Smashers rocks! We can win this first week for sure!
