I suppose it depends on how you define job. Having grown up on a farm, I was dusting furniture and drying dishes as far back as I can remember. By the time I was 8, I was in charge of feeding and watering chickens and gathering eggs 2Xdaily in summer and in afternoons during the school year. I was able to cook a full meal at 9 and was baking cakes, cookies, and pies by then. For pay, I was about 12 when I started babysitting. I got $2 a night in the 50's!

Besides a paper route, my first real summer job was laying carpet. 2 summers. Then, my senior year in HS, I worked as a busboy at Ramada Inn in Fresno.

My first job was working for my daddy at the feedyard. I pushed cattle (pushing them through snake to the processing chute), washed water tanks, mowed with the tractor, unload haybales with the loader.

My first job NOT working for my daddy was JCPennys on the floor when I was 16. THAT didn't last long... spent more time flirting with the guy in shoes then straightening my section.

My first job... if this counts... was delivering newspapers, but a lot of teens do that at a young age. So... my first "real" job was working on a cleaning crew at the office of our local power company. Fun stuff. NOT! LOL

I got my first job at 15. I was a copy clerk assistant. I helped make booklets, tablets, copied tons of papers, etc for a local hospital. (They worked the heck out of my teenage butt! LOL!)
