Paul McCartney American tour last summer. He only played in 10 cities. And since my daughter knew he would be in town when I was planning on visiting her, she surprised my with floor seats to his concert for my birthday.
Without a doubt the best concert ever. Not only did he sing as many crowd pleasing classics as possible, but his new stuff was out of this world fabulous!! And the guy may be getting up there in years, but he went 3 and 1/2 straight hours with not one break! He was bouncing off the piano, playing the acoustic guitar, and his voice sounded as fresh as it ever has. He announced that night was his 200th performance with his current band.
I was delightedly BLOWN AWAY!0 -
Between 1994 and 1998 I averaged about 3 concerts a week. I saw so many great bands. The concert I enjoyed the most was Pink Floyd in Toronto in 1994. There is no Band that puts on a show like that, The DVD of the show is not the same.0

Queen live at Wembley - long ago and even longer ago Thin Lizzy.0

We saw the newer Thin Lizzy at High Voltage this year - they were great! Would have love to have seen Queen too..0 -
Ok I have to show my age here. #1 Led Zepplin #2 Steppenwolf Both in country music capitol Nashville TN in 1969 (I think!)
To the guy who wrote that no one puts on a show like Pink Floyd, agreed they are fantastic, but Zepp set the unbroken standard for all ages! This concert was between their 2nd and 3rd albums and they were already playing stuff that was to be on 4.0 -
Hands down, it's Roger Waters performing The Wall live at the Tacoma Dome.0

1992 in Orlando, FL... during an evacuation of the state for Hurricane Andrew, Eddie Vedder climbing to the top of the scaffolding......and the best part? It was the first time I saw Lush.0 -
My problem is not that I am not old enough to remember the band Triumph, but that I am not old enough to have forgotten.
Best Concerts:
Neil Young w/ Sonic Youth and Social Distortion (early 90s)
U2 on the War Tour (about 1983-4)
NIN, 1994
Drive By Trucker anytime, everytime0 -

I can tell you the best concert I never got to go to. Cruefest 2009, landed on my due date I wanted to go anyways but hubby put the foot down and said that it was not safe and he was right, it probobly wasn't0

Beastie Boys in 1987 (first concert), Prince in 2004 or Dave Matthews Band in 2003!!0

The 2010 Bayou Country Superfest at Louisiana State University- LSU Tiger Stadium. There were too many performers to list individually but the highlights were Brooks' and Dunn's as one of the last stops on their farewell tour. Then Kenny Chesney closed the show. The concert sold out at 80,000 tickets for the two days. My best friend and I flew from MA for the concert and spent a few days sight seeing at New Orleans. We got our first tattoos at the Deja Vu Tattoo Parlor... If you like country music, I totally recommend you check it out the May 2012 show. I hope to be there0

Godsmack: seen them 4 times and LOVE them. RHCP and Foo Fighters ROCKED ... forgot what year, but I was in college and was like soooo close to the stage. A complete stranger let me sit on his shoulders through almost all of the concert.0
-
Green Day 2010, just because it has been my life goal to see them live and it was SO perfect. But I went to a Papa Roach concert recently and was up front and man it was pretty awesome.0

Muse 2007 and Muse 2010 - The perfect live band. Awesome music with some great additions to the endings of songs (Rage Against The Machine Riff here, a Nirvana riff there, random b-side riff...), fantastic light/video shows that go along with the music, engaging band members, HUGE floating balls of confetti thrown into the crowds, etc... just awesome awesome stuff.
Shihad - A band from New Zealand full of the rock. Every Shihad show is one of the best concerts I've been to. I'm up to about 9 now. Check them out, meow!
Pearl Jam ~ 1997 - There was a tour announced for Australia and as is the case many a time, no Perth show. The city collected a massive amount of petition signatures (old school style, internet was not popular enough back then. Signatures were signed at music shops across the city for months in the lead up to their arrival in Australia). Pearl Jam caught wind of the petition and ensured they squeezed a show in for us. They didn't dissapoint; Nearly 3 hours of music played for us in Perth, West Australia. The whole experience from not believing they'd come, having the petition work, 3 hours of everything you wanted them to play and more. Good times.
And Foo Fighters ~ 2006 I think - They played Belvoir Amphitheatre, this amazing outdoor venue where no matter where you sit/stand you have a great view of the band. Was such an intimate, in your face show and Dave still mentions it every time they play in Perth. Seeing them again in November and can not wait. Wasting Light live is going to be a big thing for me, it's been a rough year and its been the album in my head through all the bad.0 -

Oh man, that would've been awesome!0 -

Best concert? That would have to be this year's coachella.
On the Friday I checked out The Rural Alberta Advantage, !!!, Odd Future Wolfgang Kill Them All, Lauryn Hill, Interpol, The Black Keys. I left before Kings of Leon.
On the Saturday I checked out Gogol Bordello, Eryka Badu, Broken Social Scene, One Day as a Lion, Mumford and Sons, and left before arcade Fire.
On the Sunday I checked out CSS Nas and Damien Marley Death from Above 1979 The national Chromeo and The Strokes and left before Kanye.
I got tickets for next year already and I have no idea who's performing. Such a great time. I highly recommend it to everyone.0
